Hello Lotters, Most Specially, to all Filipino mylotters present here. I was preferring to the Big bust on "BOTCHA" (Double Dead Meat) that's been an issue for risky health of our people buying Lechon or other meat delicacies during holidays. frankly, these people doesn't give a damn about others health only to get money and earn. but it's not a nice way of living at all.. I have an advice to all want to buy "lechon" this coming Christmas Holidays, either check if it's real new meat (which is hard to) or don't buy lechon meat or any other. opportunist are at it again here. I prefer Pasta, Soup, Cake and SeaFood for this coming holidays.

Nice to learn it all. I am not Pilipino. But we are not vegetarians. We use to eat the meat of bull, lamb and sheep. Eid is coming before Christmas and we would enjoy the different delicious dishes of meat. How the Philippines enjoy this I don’t know but your post gave a little information, and that is good enough.

The same is here in my country. They are reportedly selling the meat of animals which is dangerous for public health. The rectification is to become vegetarian.

Hello, Knight. :) Thank you for the timely warning. You are right there, mate. This is what I call hot and right off the grill issue especially that the holiday season is here. I have been seeing news about this issue for weeks now, probably, months. There are people who will try to profit at the expense of other people's health, not minding the unthinkable consequences of their actions. I admire the law enforcers for their being vigilant about the issue but they can only do so much. As long as there are people who patronize this botcha (mainly because of its cheaper price) the trade can never be stop. It is a sad fact the this clearly describes the worse economic conditions of our fellowmen...They'd rather risk their lives just to fill in their empty stomachs.... It is safer to buy meat from reliable distributors which more often than not charge a higher price than that from a public market...

I have watched the news last night while eating dinner and it really is so sad seeing those people doing such a thing and risking a lot of peoples health. Good thing i didn't throw up after after watching it while eating. I still will buy "lechon" this Christmas, we already have a place to buy our lechons on special occasions that we know are really safe.

Yes. We are careful in buying pork. We live in Bulacan which is usually said to be the place where bocha meats in Manila come from. We buy in a stall in Malolos market which is a trusted one but the problem is that they sell out meats fast cause even eatery owners buy to them because of the good quality of meat they have. If we are not early enough to buy to them, I just buy to a supermarket.

Hello Mspitot, Oh, well, my suggestion is probably not buy one this Christmas and resort only to other meat to be cooked in "Lechon". It's better to be early and buy them, probably buy them a 2 weeks or a week before Christmas day. We can't afford to gamble against our health because we get sick it's going to be even more expensive and dangerous to life.

We'll just buy lechon to the legitimate stores like, Mila's, Lydia's so on. 100% sure healthy.

Hello Tomski, and how would you know if the Lechon they bought isn't a "botcha" by the time you bought it from them, it's almost cooked you wouldn't know the difference.

True. The issue is very alarming. Specially this coming holiday season. Everybody often cooks meat for Noche Buena. But with the issues on meat, I think they will just cook vegetable pasta instead.

Hello Joysantos, I might as well convince my mom to have Lechon these holidays because we already have other festivities besides that can fill my stomach instead of just Pork Meat. vegetable pasta? i haven't heard of that before. maybe not only that is good but healthy as well.
