Technically, that's not a laptop, it's a netbook. It's perfectly fine for web browsing, word processing and other normal uses. However, I've seen a number of problems with Acer devices - if it's not the wireless deciding to disappear, then it's the BIOS needing a reflash or the netbook refusing to boot with the battery inserted. Also note that the screen resolution is 1024x600, that's 168 vertical pixels short of XVGA - some buttons in programs and panels will not appear on screen. The netbook I use is the Compaq Mini 311c. The screen resolution is 1366x768 which is WXGA and sports the nVidia ION chipset which provides better, and 3D capable, graphics and smooth HD playback.

Acer is a perfect choice if you are looking for a laptop that is affordable yet excellent in technical specifications.
Acer AOD 255-2691 has the following specs:
1.6 Ghz processor speed
250 Gb hard drive
1 Gig DDR2 Ram (shared video memory)
4 hours battery life
If you are not a gamer, shared video memory is not a major concern.
To sum it up Acer AOD 255-2691 will definitely work for your needs.
