Nowadays, even kids seems to spend a lot of money. Come to think of it, as we grow older, the more expenses we are exposed into. But what about if today is a no work, no school day and all you have to do is stay at home. Is staying at home means no spending? Or you'll still go out and look for snack? Can you live a day without spending a cent?

Hi vangie26! Yes, I can live a day without spending a cent :-) We actually make groceries every week and we make sure that we all have the food we need in a day even the snacks! I have 2 children so it is important for me to budget everything! :-)

My answer is a big no. Even we are at home we spend a lot because they are always asking of foods to eat while staying at home while watching tv and doing many thing inside the house. They always feel at on picnic at home . so never ever to save money with my family even at home and no classes.

If the people is alive, it will spend something. The basic is food, water and air.
So we can not live a day without cost.

I actually did not spend even a single cent on Saturday and Sunday. After having a 5 day vacation, I went straight to my parents' house and stayed there until Sunday. But if I just stayed at my place, I would definitely spend a lot for food delivery.

if I'm staying at home all day I can spend the day without spending, but usually if it's a holiday and there's no work or school wouldn't you go out and celebrate , which means spend a ridiculous amount of money :)

yes i can... i definitely can... if i just stay at home, i won't have to spend a single cent... even sometimes when i go out with my hubby, we also manage to not spend a single cent because we prepare everything from home so that we don't need to buy anything from outside... take care and have a nice day...

Actually I can. The reason is because my eyes are glued to my beloved computer all day. Unless I'm really hungry or am longing for some kind of snack, I'll go to my kitchen or living room to eat some potato chips or chocolate. Tomorrow is a public holiday for me so I'll be like so free tomorrow!!!

Well actually I am pretty good about not spending any money if I don't have to. I usually have everything I need right at home or within in short distance to me as I am always at my moms or home. I try not to spend when I am at home on days off because I am saving up for a really cool laptop I saw online so that is my goal to not spend until i can buy that, lol.

I find it quite easy for me not spend on regular off days while I am home as I am one who pre-plans all my needs in advance. Especially these days when money is really tight.
So unless it is quite necessary I have no reason to spend. I am grateful for that.

I have no work right now because I just resigned recently. I will start working on the 22nd of this month. Just being in the house makes me still spend a whole lot more rather than going to work. I will buy this and buy that at the nearby sari sari store nearby. I cannot live the day without spending. It is good that I have a small amount of savings from my previous job to cover until I get my first salary from the new job that I will be having.

It's impossible living a single day without spending a cent because staying at home would also mean increase in electricity cost since we would spend time watching tv, turning on the fan or air conditioner, or even turning on the radio. Every move we make costs us money. So there's practically nothing we can do that doesn't cost us at all.

Personally I don't think it is a very plausible idea to 'not spend even a cent' throughout the course of a day. You may ask, why am I saying that, when it is a physical possibility to not have any 'out of pocket expenses' over the course of the day, your still always spending money (this is assuming a few details).
First off do you own your house or rent?
If yes to either you either pay rent (with or without utilities included) or a mortgage and pay utilities on top. This being said, you can classify it that a portion of your mortgage or rent goes to maintaining your household for that day. Secondly comes utilities, did you turn on the tap, take a shower, flush the toilet, turn a light on, turn the tv on or in this case (everyone here did it today) turn the computer on, then you have just spent money today, either on electricity, water, internet etc.
That is the main example that pops into my mind, but there are more, however this one sums it up so I do not feel like going into more detail at this time, so yeah, no I do not think anyone can live a day without spending a cent (unless you are under the legal age still living at home and even then your still spending your parents money every single day) so hence is my answer.

I can live a day without spending money and have been doing that whenever I have the chance to just stay home during days off or holidays.
I do housechores and when I'm hungry I just grab something from the refrigerator or anything edible at home. Or I sleep most of the time and not go hungry LOL. And when bored not doing something worthwhile, I read or call somebody up doing same thing as me.

Yes, I can say I can live a day without spending. I trained my kids to stay at home to internet during holidays rather than go out and rent computers. Besides, I grocery every week for our food and snacks. There are alot of things to enjoy with by staying in the house.
