I always walked around and had a little paper notepad and pen in my purse but sometimes I am out without my purse or I cant find my paper notepad. I noticed on my cell phone that it has a notepad feature. I love this! I was waiting for dinner to be served at the resturant we went to last night and I started thinking of discussions that I could start on mylot and I didnt want to forget them. So I got my cell phone out of my pocket and went to the notepad feature and jotted down my ideas. Do you use the notepad feature on your cell phone or no? I use it a lot anymore its great. How often do you use it?

I have never heard of a cell phone having a notepad on it. That must be a smartphone feature. I have to actually either carry a notebook with me or lug my laptop everywhere with me. Usually it's the latter and I just prop it up and plug it in when I'm ready to talk about something important.

My phone is just an LG tracfone. Its prepaid and its a very simple cell phone. I dont think its considered a smart phone. I cant access email or go online or anything all I can do it talk on the phone or send text messages. It doesnt have a camera or anything like that either.

I actually didn't know that my phone had a notepad feature on it until I read this discussion. Now that I know it is there, I will most certainly use it. There is a feature on my phone that allows me to send emails to myself, or to email other people by putting their email address in the contact line of a text message. I do not have internet service on my phone, so I can not check my email on my phone, but I can email reminders to myself at my email address that I can open later when I get home, and I can send important emails messages to other people, so that is a helpful tool. My old cell phone had a digital voice recorder on it that allowed me to record voice messages to myself and go back to them later when I was ready to listen to them. This was a feature that I used often, and I wish my new phone had this feature on it. I will make sure that the next phone I get has a voice recorder on it.

Hmm that sounds interesting. With verizon cell phones I can sit at my computer and send them a message from my email to their phone as a text. Its really cool because I have just a prepaid tracfone and it gets expensive so if I am home and need to text someone who has a verizon cell phone I just do it from my computer and it doesnt cost me anything to text them that way.

my phone is pretty much for texting or calling as well, but there is a way for people to send me emails in the form of text messages, and I can type their email address into the contact line of the text message and send emails to them. I am not sure how it works, but I email reminders to myself all the time when I am out so that I will find them when I get home and check my email. However, I do not have Internet service on my phone, so I can't go to webpages or check my email.

I use mine as a perpetual shopping list. I almost always have my cell phone with me so there's less chance of forgetting to bring it with my to the store than with a paper list - which I ALWAYS forget. I add to it whenever I think of something and then delete things as I pick them up. I also put measurements in there if I'm looking for something for the house that's size specific. I've also used it to record something funny someone said that I wanted to remember! All and all it's actually a pretty useful feature and it's usually on even the simplest of phones.

Thats really interesting. Someone else commented and said they do something similar. They create a to-do list on their cell phones notepad feature. I like taking a paper and pen with my grocery list on it because then I can cross out the items as I go which is harder to do with a list on a notepad on my cell phone. But very true that if its on my cell phone which I always have in my pocket I would never forget my grocery list then like I do very often!

Yes, I do have that feature on my phone but haven't really utilized that feature in the past. However I now am using it because I write articles online and I use it when I have a concept in mind and I don't have a pen and paper handy. This is one feature that I really find very helpful but many people haven't really noticed the beauty of this feature.

I do often times have pen and paper with me but some times I do not and the notepad feature on my phone comes in handy. Like you said freakei thank goodness for modern technology. I bet a lot of people who are into the green movement would enjoy knowing they have this option on their cell phone because then they will not have to waste paper.

Me too. I wasn't able to utilize this feature in the past. It's only lately that I appreciated its purpose. I used to be a conventional pen-and-paper person but I found that it's much easier to add and edit using the notepad feature on the cellphone. Thank goodness for modern technology!

I guess the notepad on my phone will do when i con't have a paper and pen ready for me to write on. Thanks for sharing this, i think now i won't be forgetting topics..eheh

I like that my cell phone has the notepad feature but if I have a choice between typing a note on my cell phone or writing it down on paper I would choose writing it down on paper because its so much faster. My cell phone is very basic and it just has the keypad with the numbers so to get to the letter c I have to push the 1 button 3 times. It takes along time to type a note that way but at least I have that option when I forget my pen and paper.

Other than the notepad feature, I too use draft messages to keep notes that I needed. For notepad feature, often, I would use with the alarm and delete the note after the activity is done. I used if frequently as reminders.

Hmm I never thought about doing that. I have a voice record function on my phone as well. Most the time when I am using the notepad feature I am just writing things that I dont want everyone to hear though such as discussions that I want to start later on mylot lol so its better for me in most situations to use the notepad feature instead of saying the information out loud and recording my voice.

I have never used the notepad feature of my cell phone. I have only had it for a short time, and I am still learning all the features of it. I suppose it does make sense though to use the notepad so a person wouldn't have to carry a notepad and pen around. I think it is a good idea for coming up with topics for discussions in here too, like shaggin said. I will probably start using it when I am away from my computer, as ideas might come up then, and I don't want to forget them. Take care, and have a goo day.

I've had my cell phone for about 9 months now and until very recently I didnt even realize that it had a notepad feature on it. I used to just create a txt message and then save it to drafts without sending it to anyone then I would just look at it later. But this is so much easier to just go to the notepad and type what I need and save it and then to easily go back to where I wrote it and get the info.

Yes, but I still keep a pen and paper in my bag. But my cellphone is used more often. In fact, my requirements in buying a cellphone is that it should have a Word Processor and excel since sometimes, I want to write about random things especially when I'm in transit.

I always use the notepad feature.. since i'm a student i will get important messages regarding my academic, i will store such messages in the notepad alone.. further, when receiving important messages like a new offer from the mobile network service provider or some notifications from banks, i will store then in the note pad of my mobile.. you may wonder why i should spend my time copying them to notepad.. don't worry there is a simple trick to do that in Nokia Symbian mobiles.. press "shift+delete" keys in case of qwerty keyboard or press "*+delete" keys.. this will be much time saving when we need some quick reference..

No i dont use the notepad on my cellphone since i can find it or maybe my phone just doesnt have that feature lol. But whenever i ran into something that i need to write and i dont have a pen or any paper where i could write i'd just use the text message and just save it on outbox or archieve thats what i usually do.

That works! Before I realized that I had a notepad feature on my phone I would just create a text message but not put anyones number in and then just save it to the drafts. That worked good but its even easier now that I know I have a notepad that I can save things to.

Yeah, I usually the notepad feature or the to-do list app on my phone too, especially when I'm in a hurry to jot down some thoughts or ideas. It's really convenient to use the cellphone for that and it's much faster to type than to actually write them down too.

Hmm I have always written a to-do list on paper. That is an interesting idea of doing it on a cell phone. My cell phone is a very simple prepaid tracfone so it does not have apps but I have heard of people using their cells apps. I know one of my friends has like a weight watchers app on her cell.

I have the notepad feature in my cellphone but I almost don't use it. If I want to write down something, usually I will just write a SMS and save it to the draft. Perhaps it is much more convenient for me:) I love China

Mine is not a notepad but a memo feature. I do use it but occasionally. Reason is I don't have a lot of things to remember so I don't really need it.

I am not sure my phone even has this feature. I think it would be handy if I was out somewhere and needed to jot something down but didn't have anything with me. But I don't think I have one actually!

yes I use it a lot. Same as you I only use it when I forget my pen and paper and there is something very important that I need to write down. It really helps.
