My daughter just sent me the latest pictures of my new little granddaughter Olivia. Olivia is now nearly two months old (hasn't than flown!!)and she is growing up SO quickly!! I'm hoping to go and see her this weekend and am looking forward to some cuddles! She certainly seems to be enjoying her new bouncing swing in this picture!! It certainly is hard not living closer, but I'm only 60 miles away - I bet there are some of you who are a lot further away from your family!

I would love to pat her head, pinch her cheeks and tickle her feet. I'm a horror when little kids are around.

Hiya chem, This is late what I am writing so I hope you did have a good Weekend with Olivia. She looks lovely in that Photo ready to go. Looks she will be getting around much quicker than normal in that Swing thing. However she does look nice and you must have had a great time down there too. I have faraway ex Family and the further away the better (grin). You enjoy yours though and just ignore the other bit what I said before.

your granddaughter is such a cutie... she is so adorable and i fall in love with her already... :-) enjoy her as much as you can while you are still able to because time really does fly really fast... without you realising it, she will be a toodler, then a girl, then a teenager, then an adult... enjoy your time with her this weekend and lots of hugs and kisses to olivia... take care and have a nice day...

That is a very nice picture of your granddaughter. I too became a grandmother recently and saw my grandson last week. He is now 60 days old. My daughter-in-law is recuperating at her parents' place [as is the normal practice in our communities ] and am looking forward to having the little one here next month. He has started giving dimply smiles now and is such a pleasure to watch.

Sounds about the same age as Olivia - she was born on 21st September.

Oh how cute and happy she is! I am not a grandmother yet, but I do know that my oldest son wants to move overseas to Germany. My daughter wants to move back up to Seattle where she was born...of course she is only 13 so I am hoping she will change her mind. My middle son wants to move back up to Chicago when he is old enough. He probably will, he is only 15, but he has wanted to move back up there since he was little, and I really doubt he will change his mind. She if all my children keep their plans, there is a really good chance that we wouldn't see a lot of grandchildren growing up. Two of the three will hopefully change their minds, but the oldest definitely is making plans to move within the next month. His employer has a location there so it will be pretty easy to move. I am hoping this will only be a 2-3 year thing and then he will get homesick, otherwise, any longer, and I truly think I will be devasted.

I am six hundred miles from my grand daughters. I know they grow up really fast. I just got pictures of their Halloween costumes. The older one was a super hero, the younger one was a lady bug. Such big fun.

We people grow up so fast nowadays, I hope ending the lifespan wouldn't be fast too. Goodluck in meeting your grand daughter and I hope she will be a good girl when she grows up. You should be in a hurry before its her third month hehe. It certainly is a priority to have a family and to meet them.

My only granddaughter is 7000 miles away from me. And with the time difference it's difficult to even talk with her on the phone. This separation is most difficult for me because for the first 6 years of her life I was her nanny, her home school tutor, and her best friend, we even lived in the same house. Now she is so far away and so busy with her own little life that she only e-mails me once a month or less.... it's difficult, but I cope. I must. She won't be home again for another 3 years! By then she'll be a preteen and I'll barely recognize her! HoHumm!!! So enjoy all your cuddles as tho they were your last!

That is so sad, you must really miss her. I have ten grandchildren and its bad enough only seeing them every month or so!! Don't worry I'll make the most of my cuddles!!
