Do you still use your tv?

My younger brother has stopped watching tv completely! So have his roommates! Their tv isn't even hooked up to the cable! They still watch tv shows though... just not on tv! They watch all their shows on Hulu or on Netflix! Do you still watch tv? Or are you like my brother who won't even watch tv anymore? I still watch tv shows. I do use Hulu and Netflix though. But I still watch my shows on television... the good old fashioned way!

I rarely watch TV, actually i don't even remember the last time I've watched it. It's always on cause my parents watch it, but I haven't watched it for the last 3 years probably, i watch all movies on my laptop. and i get all my news on the interwebs, so really, laptop is all I need for my entertainment

hi there! we still use our tv to watch tv shows. although we don't have a cable connection now, its fine since most of the programs that e watched are from local tv stations. most of the shows that we watched are those afternoon variety shows and the drama series at night. hehe

I don't watch a whole lot of TV. I mostly just watch movies if i'm bored and got nothing going on. But when I do watch TV i only watch Lifetime and Family guy. I mostly watch my shows online. But I'm rarely ever home to watch TV i'm always working or with my boyfriend. Too much TV is not good for you anyhow.

I guess if you watch too much tv mindlessly and completely zone out, it's not good for you. But when I watch tv, I like to watch shows that challenge me and really get me thinking and interacting. So in that sense, I don't think too much tv is bad for you. But if you're watching tv critically and really immersing yourself, then I think tv can make you think more and use your brain more than you might otherwise.

Early this year I had to make a choice and the my cable had to go. So we in the US have to use that st@pid scrambler thingy in order to get any sort of picture on the tele. It is a pain to sit and enjoy anything from it so I find it easier to watch on the net.

I never watched a lot of TV and now I will only pretend to watch when someone else turns it on and I happen to be in the same room. In general, I find the concept of TV very annoying. As your brother, I prefer the internet for specific shows that interest me and that's pretty much it. But don't worry, TV will still be around because older people won't give up on it that easily.

Haha, I'm only 25 and I won't be giving it up that easy either!!! I love my tv! Whether I'm seriously watching a show I actively follow, or just have it on in the background... I do use the internet to watch shows as well... but mostly for older shows that aren't on tv anymore! I find the internet to be an addition to tv... not a replacement!

I have not totally neglected TV, but I have noticed that I haven't been watching it as often as I used to before. I used to watch a lot of TV shows live such as House, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice and now I see myself watching them online to catch up. Between work, home and school I barely have anytime to watch TV. The days I usually watch movies are normally on the weekends, and I usually even start watching them after 10PM, luckily is the weekend and I don't have to wake up early the next day to go to work. But I do wish I had more time to watch TV, I miss my regular TV shows.

I do get NetFlix delivered every week, but I watch a fair amount of regular old TV, on the TV, not on my PC.

Do you ever use the Netflix watch instantly? You can watch it on your computer, or if you have a Wii, PS3 or X-Box 360 you can watch it on your tv that way! Also, some tvs have Netflix Watch Instantly built right in them! Lots of Blu Ray players do too!

I've heard of it, but no, I'd rather watch it on my big TV than my little old monitor. And I don't have internet on my TV.

I dont watch tv as any where near as much as i used to. I also dont have cable. Dont watch many shows either. Ive become a gamer. I play sims3 a lot of the time. Its like my continuing ongoing movie that i direct. Sometimes i wacth news or other programs while im playing sims3. As a matter of fact when i was creating my aliens i was watching Glee on the tv. Couldnt thing of names for the Gray couple. So they became Glee & Gleeson Gray.

Me too. When im not playing im thinking about playing. I asked a friend of mine what game i could play that didnt involve killing and stealing. I started out with sims the complete collection, then sims2 and now sims3. Its so fun. When i first started i accidently played 24hrs. Only stopping to go potty. My meals were in front of the computer. They always are anyway. I live alone so i can get away with that. Time flies when your having fun.

I'm the opposite. I've actually been watching more TV now then I was a few years ago. Before my TV was just sitting there as part of the home decor. It probably also had to do with the fact that there wasn't any cable on it. Watching DVDs and other shows was mostly done on my laptop. But since I got cable again I've been watching television every day. I guess I'm trying to make up for lost time or something. There are actually quite a few good shows on television. It feels nice to sprawl on the floor in front of the TV like I used to in the old days.

They say we're in the "Golden Age Of Television" now! Because of all the different channels out there, you can have networks that are more niche. And therefore there's a lot more variety out there than ever before! So there's really something to please everybody! Shows don't have to worry so much about appealing to a general audience, and can focus more on specific audiences... which makes for higher quality programming!

Yes,we are still using out TV sets, but i don't watch TV shows that much. I only play movies of my choice or watch interesting shows that i can appreciate. Out TV is always busy with kids, playing movies, watching their favorite shows and also playing PS3.

I rarely use the television. I only watch local news and a few local shows on tv but most of the time, I watch my favorite tv series and movies with my computer. Furthermore, I hate commercials and watching them online or on my pc makes it more enjoyable.

To make a changing opinion, I love watching TV. Almost every week I tune my TV into National Geographic, CNN or Desperate House Wives, because the quality and experience of watching TV is not matchable. Its a fashion having big screen TV's, especially if the house is huge and accommodating. Some people look at this furniture purchase as a status builder, because people find gaining real word experiences through TV extraordinary. Netflix and Hulu are for people who look forward to experiencing show content rather than phenomenal picture and sound quality.

That's a really interesting perspective! I've never really thought of it that way. But you're right... watching tv shows on your computer really does lessen the quality of the program! I'm with you, I prefer the whole experience of watching tv! Plus there's just that excitement of watching a tv show when it first airs! I love when there's a good cliff-hanger and you have to wait a whole week to find out what happens! I love using that time to speculate and really think about the show. Often when people watch tv shows online or even watching the DVDs, they just run right through the whole show at once!

I still watch tv every now and then, even though Hulu and Netflix are great! I wouldn't go as far as getting rid of my cable though. That's alittle much.

I agree with you! I like to use both regular television AND Hulu and Netflix! They compliment each other well and really increase the variety of what you can watch!

I find I can watch a lot of tv programs on hulu so why bother fighting for control of the stupid tv

I still watch TV. I can't sit at the computer that long. By the time I answer all my e-mails and go on Mylot, my back starts to hurt. When I watch TV I can lay on the couch or sit in the more comfortable recliner, so I do that.

I don't watch regular tv shows because I don't have cable nor a converter. My computer and wireless Internet was down and it was h*&%. I use my two televisions mainly for watching DVDs and VHS tapes. Now I think I've fixed my laptop and turned the wireless Internet back on and saw "Dancing to the Stars" on Hulu for the first time last night.
