QUALITY QUESTION/ANSWER

There are a lot of people on this site who are absolutely bored with the one-line questions and the 'am I sexy, well am I' type questions. There have been several threads about this in the last few days. Some of us have decided not to answer those questions anymore. However, because it can sometimes be difficult to find the interesting threads, why don't we use an abbreviation such as QQA (Quality Question/Answer) in the discussion subject line, and then put it in as a tag in the tags. That way, anyone wanting to find the interesting threads can search under 'QQA' and hopefully find something they want to take part in. Just a suggestion. What do you think?

That's a good idea. It may help stop us having to trawl through the rubbish to get to questions worth answering.

the tag 'QQA' is now a tag you can use to do a search with in the top left hand corner. That will lead you back here. When you post your own topic then put it in the tags and we can find it. If you respond to someone else's question because it is really interesting, put it in there as well, and that discussion with then also show up when you search under the tag. thanks for your support anyway. Happy QQA-ing

I like it. QQA...That is a great way to deal with the problem. I just posted a topic, asking if anyone does searches to find out if a discussion is already being held on the topic they want to discuss. I wish I would have seen this first. LOL Thanks for the great idea. I hope it takes off.

It might work if we put it in as a tag in all questions we pose and in those questions we answer when we think they are worth it. As long as people search under QQA it might well work. Lets see. Thanks for your comment anyway.

Thanks. I am going to write to my friends and let them know. If you do the same we may get a bit of momentum going who knows?

Good idea. But with many new people coming here every day. I don't see it lasting long. You do need to remember what may be quailty to someone else may not be quality to you. And vice versa. I am looking for more topics that tend to be more of a discussion. Or have the potentional of a discusiion. I like those.

Of course there are going to be different ideas about what constitutes quality. That does not really matter, to some extent we will always have to filter the articles we want to respond to. It is just that sometimes I dont find a really interesting question until two days after it has been posted, because it has gone right to the bottom of the pile. Also, please read the reply to the poster two up from you. Thanks for your support anyway

Sorry Ice, no way I can withdraw it either. Maybe find one of the topics and - it to balance it out?

Excellent idea, I'll be doing that from now on too, now to find the interesting questions. :)

Yes, let us hope there are some! Good luck anyway and we might run into each other in other threads :)

I think that's a really good idea. I heard about his idea and tested it out. Of all the questions that came up, I had already answered many of them! I will certainly do it again though. The only problem is when some of the not so interesting users discover this idea and misuse it. We can only hope that never happens.

Hi, thanks for trying it. The issue of not so interesting ideas being tagged that way was brought up before I think. We will just hope that they never read questions that are more than five words long and in any case do not read the long string of replies. Speed is of the essense when you want to make so many replies that you can earn money - so a lot of the one-liners would not even look at the question. We will have to try it and see

I could see that work, in a perfect world. Unfortunately myLot is filled with pointgamers who will do anything for a point and the hope of a penny in their pocket. I think this could work for maybe few days but then everyone would be adding QQA in the tags and headline only to get more attention. This is a good idea though, I just don't see how it could work in a community where so many people don't care about rules or guidelines.

Good point, there is that danger, but not sure if a lot of the one-liners will read this line, and therefore they would not understand what QQA in a tag means. Not sure, I am going to give it a try though.

Good idea in theory, but I don't think it'll work. I'm sure some people feel they are asking interesting questions? Best way to handle it is to just scroll past those questions and respond to the interesting ones like you've been doing. I know - more time consuming. I'm like you....I stay with the interesting questions.
