Which do you prefer while travelling, adventure or pleasure?

Some of us are born travellers, but we're not all the same. I often travel alone especially to exotic and unfamiliar places because I prefer to have some bit of adventure. Some of my friends, however, prefer to hit tourist destinations and often book tours and splurge on luxurious hotels and right out pamper themselves. What about you, do you prefer to go on a little bit of adventure or do you choose to have the ultimate pampering experience?

I prefer adventure more than pleasure... Though I see to it that in all of my travels that there is a little bit of pleasure at the end of my trip. It is like rewarding myself after the adventures that I have been to for how many days. After that, I need to relax before I go back to the real world...hehehe...

I can't agree more. There's nothing as sweet as a bit of comfort and pampering after an adventure trip. It's a good treat to yourself, sort of like a "congratulations, i made it" kind of thing. I do that as well. And it makes me look forward to more adventures.

I have travelled to a number of countries in different parts of the world, mostly on my business trips. Each country is indeed unique in it's culture and tradition. And, there are always places of interest for tourists and visitors. Whenever I have the chance, and the time, I prefer visiting the historical and cultural places.

I guess going to a different and totally unfamiliar country and experience a new culture, by itself, is an adventure. Enjoy your adventures, my friend!

As a youngster i would have loved adventure. Now i don't crave luxury, but i would like a relaxed holiday.I think its the desire to see all locations and sights i haven't been to rather than the luxurious hotels.I like decent hotels but not places of luxury.

I mostly travel for adventure. I love trying out new things and I have been to places where only people with the most adventurous souls would go. Like you I usually travel alone because I have not found that buddy who will want to do what I like doing. Occasionally though, I like to go on pampering trips. On this trips, I am usually with my friends who love to do this.

Well, you can say that again, TheAdvocate. Adventure is not for everybody, and not for the fainthearted (and I don't mean this in a negative way) either. I have the same reason as you for travelling alone. Oftentimes, while on adventure trips, I can't be bothered to argue with someone or let someone decide for me.

Travelling for me is always for pleasure. I always travel with either my family or my friends. We all look forward to getting that relaxing vacation everytime we travel. We all love to have that special pampering experience anywhere we go. :)

I am a born traveler sort of person. I used to be a backpacker and these days I am an independent traveler. I usually book a flight and fly out to it on a plane. Then travel around the region on trains, buses and ferries. I like to stay in locally owned guest houses and accommodation with a difference like a tree house for example. Rather than stay in a five star hotel I would prefer a thatched beach hut. I choose adventure for 80% of the day time and for relaxation 20% of the day time. I love to travel to exotic, unfamiliar and exciting destinations. This summer I went to Canada on a flight to Vancouver. Last year I traveled to Cape Town and the Garden Route in South Africa.

We are on the same plane, as I love to go on an adventure on my own as well. But yeah, sometimes you got to have some sort of relaxing experience as well. I went for a monthlong backpacking once, and then treated myself to a daylong spa and massage afterwards.

There's something about adventure that fills the soul, isn't there? And it's a bonus if you do it with someone dear to you.

Pleasure! I think I have enough adventure in my every day life anyway, I do not need it on holidays and when I travel too.

Haha! You're right. For some of us, every single day have little adventures of their own. Sometimes you just want to escape everything and indulge yourself in Pamperland.
