I don't personally have any of this of my own. However, I remember that my grandmother had some of it, I think it might still be in boxes from where we sold her house after she passed away. That said, I know that there have been several times that I've seen this at yard sales around here. I've never bought any for myself, however, because of the fact that I don't have a way that I could properly display it. Some day I might have a house with a bigger kitchen and then maybe I could collect something pretty like this.

i think it is very pretty as well. The blue is so deep and rick. It would look great in your kitchen as well.

hi Nadinest1 I have one piece I found at a yardsale, it appears to me a pill bottle but the blue color is what made me buy it. I always put it in a window where the light could flow through it. I have not been able to find the source for buying more.I guess we will have search the
web and thrift shops.

this is how it started for me. My son and I were picking fiddleheads(I will make another post about what these are)and I came across this old blue Vicks jar and I brought it home. I cleaned it up and that is where my collection started....the blue was and still is, beautiful.

OMG yes! I have a little salt well, mini hen on a nest and a group of 3 small bottles with cork stoppers on my window ledge. They are so pretty when the sun shines through.

what a cool hobby! your glassware is such a lovely colour. I would keep an eye out on sites like ebay/free give-away sites. Also go to jumble sales, secondhand pages in newspapers and flea market/carboot sales. You could also join a collectors club as sometimes people will sell off items if they have doubles or are wanting a swap.Fellow collectors may have some good ideas on where to find some more items and also you will find people who share your love of cobalt glassware so you may find some new tips on how to care for it or the history of it etc. good luck!

Great ideas. I never thought of joining a collectors group. I think I will search the internet for some. I am always on the lookout....I even have my neighbors buying pieces for me. Thanks for the info.

There's a page called cobalthaven.com that occasionally sells cobalt glassware (not an affiliate link or anything, I'm in no way associated with this site, it's just the place where I first found that my blue jars are called cobalt glass).
I also have a set of cobalt spice jars, I don't know where my family picked them up, they've been around forever. They make a nice addition to the kitchen, it keep them on a rack with a couple of malachite stones, the blue and green make a nice combination.
By the way, do you know they're also called depression glassware? I could never understand this association, they're so nice and bright, not depressing at all.

Ok, I looked up the site. I have been to this site before.
The think that kills me is the shipping to Canada.
Well, we all know the price of shipping things is getting higher and higher....but a $3 item could cost me $10 to ship....that's where I draw the line. Well, maybe that's good in a way.
Thanks for the input...and happy collecting.

Hi Nadinest,
It is very beautiful. I had a couple of pieces. I had a candy dish and an angel figurine. One of my daughter's boyfriend's mother collected this type of glass and I gave them to her. Right now I have a tall vase that I've had for years. Check yardsales and craigslist, thrift shops. I have even seen this type of glass ware in the salvation army.
