I hate it this time of the year when the evenings are really cold and it gets dark really early, as i feel with the evenings being like this it makes us all feel miserable and down in the mouth.I can not wait until it is summer time yet again, as then i can get out in my garden.

There is a syndrome for depression during the shorter days, and shamefully I don't remember the name of it. You may want to try keeping in an artificially bright environment as it is getting dark until you go to sleep, and see if that helps you. Try different kinds of lights as well, if regular lights do not help.

hi, it is called Seasonal Disorder i think. better known as S.A.D. and you are right you can buy special lights/lightbulbs which imitate natural daylight which is what makes many people feel down at this time of the year.

I like it when it's cold. When it's summer, it's really hot here like microwave hot. It just burns your skin all through out. Now that it's cold i can just snugle to my bed and sleep tight.

Is is really too cold here at the moment and now they are speaking of snow near the end of the week, which will make it colder still.I hate the cold, i do not mind the summer as there are fans that i use to keep me cool.I hate it being dark so early in the evening as well, as it is just so miserable as you do not get to see the people that you would normally see, as they stay at home.

Hi Joystick,
I love all the seasons. I don't like going out in the bitter cold but I do like the coziness of this time of year. I love coming in and getting into my pjs and lighting some candles...doing crafts and other indoor projects that I probably wouldn't find time for in the summer months. It's not so bad at all.

Like you, I don't really enjoy it when the days get shorter and shorter, and it gets darker. It's not very pleasant. It's kinda depressing if you ask me. I don't mind so much the snow. I do enjoy watching a snow fall. I don't mind the cold so long as I don't really have to deal with it for long periods at a time.

I hate this time of year. There are no end of really cold spells where as it is soo cold that i have to have my heating on nearly all of the time.I think that with it being darker there are less people popping round that we like to see, as well as they do not like the dark.Mind you the bonus is that the children are indoors and do not get to go out when it is dark, so i know that they are safe.

I have to say here in the u.k we are having a freeze spell and the dark nights make me feel low too. however it is nice to come home to a warm house and have a hot drink and a mince pie.

I don't like winter period. It's not so much the dark nights....but the cold, especially the cold cars...I would rather just stay home than have to go warm up a car and shiver all the way somewhere.

Sad to hear that, but in my country this is a good time for us because we can get out of the garden, work in it without getting too much heat from the sun and avoiding heatstroke. My country is a tropical one and we don't get snow or winter here. However, nights are longer than usual since the sun sets earlier and it's getting colder at night but tolerable.
I spend most of my time in the garden now since it's cool and refreshing especially at night.
