Do you always ensure that all of your doors as well as windows are locked, before you go to bed.Do you also check and then check again that you have locked things like the doors and windows up and that all of your electric things are all switched off.I know that one of my friends seem to always do this as a routine and they have for many years now.I just do the locking up once and that is at bedtime.

yes i do... my hubby always do this before we go to bed just to make sure that everything is alright... the most important thing that we check is the stove to make sure that all had been switched off because are afraid of fire... it is a good habit to do this everyday before we go to bed to make sure that we are safe... take care and have a nice day...

We have a routine in our house as well.We tend to ensure that all the doors and the windows are locked, then we will check on all of the children making sure that they are all tucked up in bed and fast asleep. We go to bed early hours of the morning,so this way all the children are asleep,we also make sure that all of their electric is off in their bedrooms, of all the things that they have had on.

I'm not sure if you are aware of this Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)? I been like your friend before. I thought I'm just being so organized or perfectionist as how my friends see my attitude, until such time one told me that I'm an OCD. Learning that D stands for disorder, I researched thru internet what does OCD means. All the signs and symptoms stated there, I found out are most what I'm doing. So I tried to change and have lots of adjustments to overcome it. You may want to research on this to help your friend, though nothing bad if her intention is for safety, which is what I thought I'm doing before. Nothing to loose anyway.

Oh! that would be to bring the kids to sleep, they are still toddlers, they want to hear stories from me before sleeping, that becomes a routine..

Yes, I do kind of have a routine before I go to bed for the night. I make sure my door is locked, and I check to make sure the burners on my stove are off. It's just a habit. I turn almost all of the lights off, get my mouth piece (I grind my teeth at night), set my alarm clock, and then hopefully I fall asleep.

in my case, every time me & my housemates left or enter our house, we always padlock our main door. and our window grills as well got lock this is for security reasons. this is our precautionary measures for safety purposes. and before i go to bed, i will normally check if all the lights off and the electric kettle had turned off.

Well, I always check to make sure the door is locked. My son works nights, so I am always telling him to make sure the door is locked....and even then, sometimes, I get out of bed to check. Now that it is winter, our wood furnace needs to be filled before bed every night. My husband goes to work at 3 am, so he is always in bed early, so it is my job to fill the furnace. Sometimes I ask my 14 year old to fill it. I also make 2 sandwiches for my husband before i go to bed. That seems to be my nightly ritual. ...lock the door(which I do earlier in the evening anyway), make the sandwiches and fill the furnace.

There are several things that I may do before bed. Obviously home security is a must. Make sure the back door is completely closed. All of the windows are closed as well. They are really too small for anyone to fit through them so I do not really work on locking them. Unless there is some burglar dwarf on the loose, then there might be some problems. Other than that, it is nothing that I do.
Then I go to the bathroom. Brush my teeth, wash my mouth out with mouthwash, things like that. Perhaps I read a short book. Make sure I have no updates that I need to install on the computer before I shut it down for the evening. Then I go to bed after reading for a little bit. A simple rut that I have fallen into but one that I find it is comfortable a lot of the time.

It's not so much the windows and doors, I know they're locked when I go to bed because they're locked before bedtime. It's the oven and stove, I check before bed and then lie in bed wondering if I checked right. Most nights I end up getting up to check again.

My grandmother is the queen of the doors, windows, etc. I triple check that my alarm is set correctly each night and we always watch the news before we go to bed.
