great! you brought back memories! yes i remember playing shatong, tagotago or pulis dunggab..my favorite bato lata and biks....in our time we look forward for another day to play with our friends, we even forget that its lunch time already our parents will come shouting out our names for lunch. that just explains how much fun we are having playing...childhood then was much fun than today, ever since the birth of gameboy, kids today are just stocked in their homes busy on pc games, psp, ipod, facebook..etc..thank God outdoor sports are being introduced in schools, that way they get to have more outdoor activities. its a nice feeling bringing back the old days! thanks! good, good, good...thanks to you too I remember what I forgot moments ago...tagotagoan!!!!I loved this, it was in the tip of my tongue but couldn't put a name on it...we even used to recite this verse "tagotagoan, maliwanag and buwan, tayo'y maglaro ng tagotagoan, pagbilang ng tatlo nakatago na kayo, 1, 2, 3!!"lol and your right children today should really be encouraged to play more outdoor games!!

Hello there! Yeah, I miss these games! When I was younger, along with my playmates, we used to play patintero in the street at night, it was so fun! I especially like the luksong tinik and chinese garter, because I am good with these games, I can jump really high. Cheers!

Our favorite was Agawan Base. We loved running after each other and tagging them. In school we played jackstones a lot during breaks. I remember we use to have champions back then. I reigned supreme for a while because I bugged my mother to buy me several sets which I practiced at home. I saw this on the road in one of the communities here in my city. I guess children are still playing the same games we played when we were young, with some variations.

Those are familiar and I was able to play all of those. You failed to mention takyan, which I'm very good at. There's also Siatong and Jumping rope. of course the mock wars that boys are very fond of.

My favorite will be taguan and paway. To those who are not familar with paway, you'll be able to play this game using a pair of slippers. This is a race of slippers, the player will try to reach the finish line by hitting the slipper with the other pair and you can also prevent other players to reach the finish line by hitting their slippers back to the starting point even way beyond. Its a fun game but it will shorten the life span of your slippers.

I always dreamed of playing sungka, but never really had the time to learn it. Do you now sungka? It was fun wasn't it? Tumbang preso is also a favorite back then, doesn't matter if you're boy or girl, as long as you know how to aim for the can you're in!

I definitely will! I'm sure it would take me back to my childhood days where everything was simple and people were already happy by just reading FUNNY KOMIKS with COMBATRON and several other stories. Today everything is so stressful.

I remember those days when we always go out and play these traditional Filipino games. It would take us almost all day, stopping only to eat and nap. My favorites are tumbang preso and patintero. I wish today's generation would still engage these fun games of old.

I miss to see those games played by young ones now. Back then, my siblings and I together with all the other neighboring kids always gathered outside our houses and playing all sort of pinoy games depending on what's the "uso" game. I love all of those ingenuous games. I am particulary good in games that involves running, i was a fast runner and seldom becomes "taya". I also love chinese garter where I can jump as high as the arm is fully stretched vertically. Nowadays, I seldom see kids playing outside and mingling with other kids. Most of them are now glued in wathing tv or playing computer games.

oh yeah! i like this thread! the local game i always play when i was a kid is SYATO, it is a group game that needs at least 2 players per team, you use 2 sticks, and dig a hole to position the shorter stick, and hit it with the longer hit, and the only thing i recall is that one player will shout "syato". it's been almost 20 years since i played that and i can't remember all the details lol

Yup I definitely am familiar with those games. I love playing these games with our neighbors' kids around my age and we usually gather out in the streets after school. My favorite is patintero, piko, black 1-2-3 and hide-and-seek. :) Also those improvised street football and baseball wherein we use plastic bouncy balls. :) Ah these brings back the memories. Mind you, I prefer to live in the late 80's til the early 90's because everyone is so active. I know most of my neighbor's kids and have been friends with them until now. Nowadays, kids just stay at home, chat or play online games with their friends who (for some) they haven't even met yet.
