Can you keep a secret?

So from my expereince there are freinds you can trust with a secret and you know that no matter what even in the worst of fights they will not tell anyone, they are just great at keeping secrets.
Then thier are freinds that are just blabbers, they cant help themselves it's not on purpose but things always come out of thier mouth that shouldnt. They are sorry when they realize what they have done, but they just cant keep a secret not even thier own secrets.
Then of course thier are the people that tell secrets on purpose, to try to embaress of hurt the person who's secret they are telling. These people I wouldnt even consider a friend. You learn quickly not to trust them.
I am a secret keeper, sometimes it is stressful to keep a secret, especially one that you feel someone else should know! You always have to watch what you say so carefully to be sure not to ever say anything. I think people can sometimes pick secret keepers out from other people. I say that becuase all of my freinds tell me thier secrets and I know alot of them dont tell the secrets to other freinds. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed with the amount of secrets I am keeping, but I feel honoured that my freinds all feel like they can come to me!
So what type of secret keeper are you, and have you noticed any other types of secret keepers?

hmmm i personally am a ok secret keeper, if someone shares a secret i generally keep it a secret, if i feel like i have to tell someone , i tell my 2 best cousins/friends, i trust them alot and we have a special bond regarding sharing secert and i feel safe telling them any secret i know and they do the same/

When i keep a secret I generally always tell my husband and he always tells me everything. He really is my best friend and I dont think he counts. He would never say anything to anyone.

hmmm i am very happy to hear that you have someone who will always be there for you when you need someone to be with. We all need somone to share our feelings with and to share and find solutions to our problems...

hello kayla!
i can keep serious secrets, especially ones which could bring embarrassment, problems and nuisance to the concerned. However, joker secrets i share to others but i don't reveal the concerned person or the source. Generally though, since most of my friends confide in me, i involuntarily developed the habit of listening to them and then forgetting the incident thereafter. I found out that its better to be like that than to deluge myself with all their secrets, which could wear out a person, just knowing such terrible secrets., lol.
Overtime, i remember bits and pieces of their story, but then i usually forget who the teller was. I muddled up things and it is as if all those they have told me are hazy.. oh, such a blissful memory. I would prefer it this way than be bugged down by the burden of all their secrets, lol.

Thats is so great! I do that sometimes but I need to train myself to be better at forgetting all these secrets! Then it would be like I didnt have a secret to tell anyways!

I know how to handle secrets. Some people says that if you know a secret of a person, you can hold it against him if he done someting wrong to you. But I know how to cotrol myself, if I got hurt by someone whom I know something about him, I can't hold it against him, for I know I don't want people to do that to me. I'm can say that I'm a box that when you put something inside and need to keep it closed, you can count on me.

I am like that too, I have never held a secret against someone if we got into a fight, even if when they have really done something wrong to me. I am just not that type of person, sometimes I wish I wasnt becuase they deserve it, but I just cant do it.

if someone tells me things and its a secret, i know how to keep it a secret but i do agree that sometimes its very stressful. there are also times taht you have to make little white lies to cover up for the person. but once you have promised to keep it a secret, u have to keep that promise.

I know I hate the stress of keeping a big secret, sometimes it make me feel sick to my stomache, especially when you have to tell little lies to cover up for the person, becuase I hate lying and I am not good at it at all!

In my opinion, secrets are links which connect you to others who trust you. I'm very glad to be a good listener if my friend suffers from something that she/he does not want others to know, turely i will keep tight lipped about that. On the other side, if the secrets are good news and my friend just want to suprise others, well i maybe so excited to let the cat out of the bag before she/he declares. wowo..
My boyfriend is also a good secret keeper, so when i'm tried from sadness secrets i often share with him. Sometimes he may promote some advices to my friend and others he just listen without a word.
As for my own secrets, which scared and shamed me most a long time ago, and now have settled deeply in my mind, i will never tell anyone about them.

I also have secrets that I will not share with anyone. I tell my husband every secret I know ....well almost every secret. He really is like my other half, and I have bee with him long enough now to know what type of person he is, and to know he will not say a word ever.
I like how you put it there about secrets being links that connect us to those who we trust....very nice!

i think i am a pretty good secrets' keeper even though not the best... :-) i prefer not too keep too many of other people's secrets in my life though because it will be so frustrating for me... and i don't tell my secrets to people as well... i prefer to keep it to myself and bring them to my grave because i feel that once i tell my secret to somebody, it won't become a secret anymore... take care and have a nice day...

I am the same way...I still have secrets I have never told from when I was a lttle kid in school that my friends told me not to tell. Some I have even forgotten I have kept them so good : )

I am definitely a secret keeper!!! I can live with that. Though I'm such a blabber and it's really hard for a very talkative lady like me to keep quiet. 
But I never ever tell my friend's secret. Ever. If the other should know, I let the one who owns the secret say it.

Lol I a blabber too and also a super secret keeper! It does sound like a wierd thing to be both. If I think the owner of the secret should tell someone else, I wont tell but I would try to convince them to tell on thier own. Unless is was something very important...such as someone have an STD and spreading it knowingly...or a murder,....something like that

Well, you are so reliable because your friends believe and tell a lot of secret to you. I am also a good secret keepers. Because I talk very little, I only talk when I need to talk. So, I can keep it very good. But now, I don't have any secret. Have a good day mate!

I guess that makes sense if you dont talk alot then you would be great at keeping secrets! You would also be less likely to accidently tell becuase you would think of what you say before you say it everytime!

I think you are following me. Its my habit to keep the secret. All of my friends when they tell me any secret I keep them very hard. cause its a matter. I also close with other friends and we also make a "ADDA" after evening. But I don't tell any one of them about the secret. This conditions should be for the others. So you can imagine which am I as a secret keeper!

We seem to be the same type of secret keeper. I find it hard to find other people in my group of freinds that can keep secrets, they are always telling peoples secrets! I think thats why everyone is always telling me secrets becuase they know I wont say anything.

I can keep a secret...most of my friends are, too. I have an experience when I ws in my 1st year high school but everytime I remember those moment, I just laugh at it. I had a classmate who happened to be my crush also. Of course, I told one my friend about that. I am the kind of person when I am happy, I tell all of my friends what and why I am happy. After a year, the friend of mine whom i told my secret was transfer to another section and my crush where I remain to my class section. Later on, my crush was avoiding me and the issue of me having a crush to him was spread out to the whole campus which she (a friend of mine) is the one I only told that secret of mine. Since then, I avoided my friend also and learned my lesson not to trust so easily. But now, I look at it as childish reaction..hahahaha! I am matured enough not to get mad with that non-sense thing. :p

Isnt it funny how things that seemed so important when we were kids now seem like nothing! It is funny to look back at ourselves from when we were kids or preteen or teens and what mattered the most then, and how now we understand that it didnt really matter at all. I wish that thinga that mattered when I was little was all I had to worry about now!

Sometimes it is difficult for me too, but I still keep it! I cant do that to someone who has confided in me, but yes it can be extremely hard to keep!

I'm a great secret keeper. I only tell the people who are also great secret keepers another persons secret lol. No I'm kidding. I don't trust people with secrets.They will always use it against you no matter who they are when they are mad at you. That's why you always do your dirt alone. See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil is my motto.

Thats a great motto. I must admit I dont really share secrets with people, I dont trust many people to keep secrets like they say they will. My husband is the only one I truly trust. But I do believe there are great secret keepers out there!

I am like a tight vault and no one can con me into spilling the beans. I look at this way that if I had a secret and entrusted someone I would hope they would do the same and keep it tightly.

Thats a great way to look at it, and so true. If it was my secret I would hope they would not tell anyone, especially after they told me they wouldnt. I also like your way of describing it "like a tight vault" :)
