do you put additives (flavor enhancer like msg) to your food while cooking?

i love to cook for my family, specially for my kid.
i like to keep them nourished by cooking healty, nutritious food,
though i put lots of natural ingredients and herbs.
for me its better to add lots of flavor enhancer but just the natural ones, even though it'll cause me much tears in slicing onions, nor give me callus in handling the knife for a little long it'll be ok for me as long as i cook a healthy delicious food.
even though those additives enhances the flavors, i believe its also not good for ones health.

Hi,
I do cooking everyday and I never add Ajinomoto(msg) into
my dishes.Instead I am using Maggi Seasoning for all
my dishes. It is also kind of flavour enhancer, but I prefer
the taste,of course, I just add in moderate portion.
I also use less salt. So I am cooking healthy food for my family.
I also use "ikan bilis" with onion and garlic to enhance the food
flavour.

Yes, I also try not to use salt, and while it can be weird in the beginning, you actually get used to it really fast. I think natural herbs and stuff like that are the best flavours anyway. So I prefer to use that.
But cutting out salt is a really good tip for everyone!

I usually keep broths when I cook something. I ask for the fish heads when I buy fish, keep water where I cook veggies and boil every piece of bone I can get my hands on. Those I cook for a long time with herbs from my garden. I have oregano, bunch onions, parsil and coriander, bay, mint. I use them depending on the results I want. Usually I use those concentrated broths as flavor enhancers.

Absolutely not! I only use completely natural ingredients, and I have heard MSG is really dangerous anyway.

Hi Budettesky! I love cooking as well. Me and my fiancee love taking turns in cooking for our everyday meals. We opt for the healthier choices nowadays like adding more veggies on a dish and using vegetable or sunflower or olive oil to cook our dishes. We do sometimes use flavor enhancers but just those bouillon cubes like Knorr or OXO cubes to give the dish a bit of flavor. Lately we have been trying to make our own stock, chicken or beef stock and then freeze them if we're not going to use them yet. We both think it is healthier than the stock cubes you buy in groceries. I think it does, in a way, seem to be bad for one's health that they don't recommend to use it all the time. And nowadays we try to find more different alternatives on how to flavor our dishes. :)
