Hi there, Now I am going to write my semester exams. But my problem is I have laziness. Whenever I think to study, I also think to postpone it. By this habit, I don't follow my lessons correctly. Further I wrote many exams with last minute preparation and I got almost minimum marks. Because of this I Further lose the interest. Please give me some what boost-up advise that always keep me active. It is better that it would be a motivation phrase or slogan... Thanks guys

Well, the advice is simple, don't procrastinate.Based on what you've said, you're a moody guy type.Whenever you feel like studying, you'll do it with full focus, and most of the time, you don't feel like studying.Since you studied last minute and come out low,I would say that you do not possess a strong short-memory capability. Thus, you must study from the start.I'm also a moody type, but what motivates myself is the deadline of the exam.Besides,I always study around the eleventh hour due to the ability of my short-memory to take up much information in a short time.Just to make it short, change your attitude and develop an interest towards studying. You are not lazy, instead you make yourself lazy.Boost up your spirit and be mentally active. Cheers.

Thanks for your kind of response. I really feel better now. But problem is whenever I get motivated it's cheer me only maximum 3 hours. Afterwards, I became as usual, and lose concentration. Any idea please?

Because you base your commitment on what you feel. Force yourself. There's no other way than that. Change the way you think. Think about your parents, how they work hard to pay off your school fees. When I was still studying, it's unavoidable to feel dull and lazy. But I just commit myself into a specific time to study everything because I also want to excel and never wants to fail. If you're really used to getting low grades then there's no point at all. If you have a dream then it's an enough reason to strive harder.

I often feel as you do now. Although I haven't done the jobs I am supposed to do I like to say to myself: "Oh, this could I postpone till tomorrow..next week...next month." But when the deadline comes very closely and you should do everything at the last moment the feelings become even more terrible. So what do I do to get rid of this damned laziness? Nothing - just work. Yes, so simple. I just began to do something little. I say to myself that I need to finish this small job and that's it. But after I have finished one, I feel stronger to do the next little job. So, I simply cheat myself by saying that it won't be as hard as I imagine and go step by step. Good luck! :)

Hi, It is an exam time and you should get rid of your laziness. Or else the result might not be good. Actually you have to motivate yourself to study hard and get a good result and it is good for your own future. Whatever you learn and earn,it is for yourself. Not for somebody else. So think of your future...then only you will motivate yourself to get up and concentrate on your study. Get a cup of hot coffee and some snacks to accompany you while studying late,it helps to keep you awake and have an enough rest too.

Be focused. Set goals in your life. if u do npt know where u r going and u do not have a mission then u will be lying to yourself. have goals in life and set the time frames which are also realistic. you will besomeone in life. There are reasons why you are not on the mood to do those things. Maybe you are anemic. Have a CBC to confirm it. Then talk with your doctor. Or you need coffee to boost your day. Here's my phrase to you: Sacrifice today, Satisfaction tomorrow or satisfaction today, sacrifice tomorrow? Your pick. I read that one from a book. It really makes sense. A lot of my friends likes to party and procrastinate all the time. They weren't able to finish school. I hope that doesn't happen to you!

I want to say Thanks for your phrase. It seems really effective. But mentally I can be hold any physical tiredness..I mean "mentally". Once before, for a exam I woke up to morning 8 to next day morning 4. But I didn't feel tiredness..When I typing this, tomorrow I have exam. But my mind told that "You can do it even in tomorrow morning; don't bother"..What can I do?

Find a good friend to study with or even a group- serious people only! Studying with others is beneficial because you are more motivated to study and get things done. Although getting distracted may happen once in a while, it's what keeps tasks like studying a little more bearable. Just make sure you and the others are always trying to get some things done! It shouldn't be a lollygag session. Also, it might help to keep your study materials within arm's reach at all times! Obviously, you'll be more inclined to pick up material and study it if you don't have to get up and search/find it or whatever. That way, you can study for a small amount of time, put it down, and pick it up again whenever you look at it or remember again until you've got it down. Hope this helps a little.

well, this happened to me as well a few times in the past when i was still studying... what i do is, i just have to force and discipline myself to do it... i tell myself that the sooner i get it done, the sooner the burden will be off from me... and i can reward and enjoy myself afterward... do not procrastinate and pile up your work... that is when you will become lazy as well because you have so many things to do at once and you don't know where to start... my philosophy is, what i can do today, don't wait until tomorrow as tomorrow you will have other things to do again... good luck... take care and have a nice day...

Hi, I too am lazy like you and keep postponing things till the last minute. Think of it this way, you need to get good marks to get a good job. So concentrate on studying. I would suggest that you pick up the books as soon as you come back from school. That way you should be able to concentrate for sometime on the studies. As for me, I need to start doing whatever is pending as soon as I take my bath and have breakfast. If I sit in front of tv or computer then I loose interest in the pending work.

The best thing thats available for you is meditation. I've also encountered the same problem into high school and it really is disastrous on grades. Therefore, I urge you to change your mindset, by thinking about yourself and what you need to achieve. Rely on the concepts of yoga and just focus your mind on what you need to do. There will be no reward if you keep being lazy and producing no results. Expect to be reprimanded less in school because of bad grades. It is you decision, and your mind will play a special role in solving that problem.
