Do you need to write?

What does writing mean to you? Do you feel like you have the need to write? Or is it just something you do when you are bored? Personally I love to write. It doesn't matter if it's a note, in my journal, a short story or even articles. It is for that reason that I got interested in free lance writing as a career. I love being on mylot because it gives me that chance to express my thoughts and emotions through my writing. It also gives me the chance to see all the other dedicated writers out here. So let's hear it. What makes you tick? Why do you write? Have you ever had anything of yours published? Have you ever let anyone read what you have written? Why or Why not?

I have been writing since I was old enough to write my abcs. I won my first writing challenge when I was only 7 years old and had my poem published in the school newspaper. I was so proud! Since then I write wherever and whenever. I am a ghostwriter by trade but have also written and published 5 business how to books, and have over 40 poems up on Triond. I have written 10 short rhyming children stories that I am just working on getting the photos to match the words so I can publish those as well. With places like Lulu.com the ability for anyone to self publish what they write and start selling it at places like Amazon and eBay and their own website is now a reality. No more need to wait for a publisher to accept you and then fork out thousands for marketing and publishing costs. Now with print on demand, you get a portion of each sale and as the orders come in, each book is made and shipped out. I will be writing until the day I can no longer hold my pen or type on my keyboard.

I do enjoy writing and I am currently working on a short story or a book whichever it ends up being. I also write for several online sites and I am interested in learning more about writing so that I can make a career of it. I know that my writing is not as good as some out there, but that is okay as I know that I can still earn money writing. I wish you the best of luck in your work.

hey crivas! i think, i don't need to write because i love to write in the first place! hehe kidding! well writing is my passion & i am home with it. it is truly influential. i write not only to reach the few because i believe that writing becomes powerful when you "share". it inspires people especially when you do something that would make them realize that there is more to life, that there is greater than life itself! i do share my writings of course but mostly through a blog. am not sure though if i can post the link here, so better not to avoid breaking rules. safety first! lol! but one thing is for sure, i will share my thoughts and insights here in myLot. i am still new here but i believe that TIME IS HUGE. again, i love to write.. & i definitely know that a man's piece is sharper than a man's memory itself! (:

I must admit I have been writing every day since I was 14. It was actually an ex of mine that got me started. He had told me that no matter what you write it tells a story of you whether you like the story or not it's a part of you. So the day I was told this I started writing whether it be stories, journals, poems, or letters to my children to read when they get older. I make time no matter what is going on to write at least my thoughts down. I've actually been lucky enough to get a poem of mine published when I was 16. It was about family issues and it really touched the family member it was about and needless to say our relationship has been stronger ever since. It's amazing how just a few words can change a persons entire prospective on something no matter how minor.

There are two reasons why I write. The first is to journal. I like to write down my thoughts and feelings and what's going on to get it out of my system. I love putting pen to paper. I am also quite a fantasizer and like to tell stories so I write to tell stories and I get these ideas from my own fantasies. I write poetry too. I know what my first poem was but can't remember what prompted me to write it. I have had a short story published in a local magazine. It was kind of a contest for our writing group to come up with a story that pertained to the area we live in so I wrote for that and that story was published in the magazine. And our writing group is releasing an anthology for charity very, very soon (books are being shipping as we speak). I submitted two poems and worked hard to come up with a short story. I had started the story from a writing prompt in writing group a couple of years ago and decided to go back and finish it. I had some help with the editor to polish it up. I'm happy with the result. I have two novels written, both need a lot of polishing. I just can't find the energy and motivation to go back and finish them. Of course I share my writing with members of my writing group.

I really do love writing. It's something that I've enjoyed for a long time. I write because it's something that I really enjoy doing. I think that we should all do something that we enjoy. Writing is something that I enjoy.

Hi friend, I am not a freelance writer and am not working with any of the article writing programs. I like to write. I look at Mylot as the best option for me to express my thoughts. I love to be here.. Good Day friend.

Hi Crivas, I love to write as well. I think it is great to write for money, especially on topics that we are passionate about. That is why I do not take up freelance writing assignments. I do not like to write on topics that I do not know, and I do not like to serve as ghostwriters. I much prefer to have my name to every article that I have written. The passive income is a great motivator. Whenever I lack the urge to write, despite having time on hand, I think of retirement and the passive income. That usually helps me to start writing. Once I start writing an article, it is hard to stop.

Sometimes I write my thoughts and emotions down, but then i grade myself telling how stupid I was, which is unfair. Sometimes I live in the moment and have drama like anyone else. It is important to keep those thoughts down because sometimes our memories are vague and if we keep a log of how we feel and our emotions we get a second glance of another perspective which might help a situation out. We might get to prevent next time. It also can help people out through harsh experiences. Two examples I would like to give are Anne Frank's Diary, Ann Sullavan on Helen Keller, and Corrie Ten Boom's experiences during Nazi reign.

I love to write. I have blogs and more than 100 articles published at various freelancing web sites. Writing helps me to exercise my brain. It offers me an opportunity to view things with newer perspective. It widens my horizon. It enhances my far sightedness. Beside, it helps me to brush up my knowledge and apply my knowledge as well to gain new experiences. It also increases my ability to express my self more clearly.

I can honestly say that i havent written anything in a long while cause i been so backed up with work. But when i do write it is usually songs, ballads if you will about past relationships or ones i dream about, and even the one that got away. after a while and i get a few drinks in me, i play them for friends at parties and so forth. nothing was ever published but i do have quite the fan club and its a very easy fun way to get the girls at a camp fire party. haha

I made up the tag line writing is therapy on a pad. If I did not write my feelings I feel like they would swallow me, and then I would not be a whole person. I can not go through a day without writing in a journal or on my blog. It is the same way I feel about drawing. When I write or draw my concentration is on that, and it is amazing.

Writing is just a hobby for me. When I started earning out of my writings, I started to focus on it more. Now, I write to earn extra money. Good thing there are a lot of opportunities for budding writers like me online.
