I know how you could be earning that sort of money after a year of hard work, or 1 month to 6 months of hard work: Also, after all of that hard work you won't have to do anymore work, because what you did before will continue to earn you money forever :D
Try out Triond, write about 1000 to 5000 articles, and you will most likely meet or exceed your goals. I have written about 300 articles since March(A little slow, I know, I don't like to write everyday), and now I am getting about 40-50 dollars a month from it, without writing anymore articles :D
When you get views on your articles you wrote, you get paid money, it is that easy; so, if you write popular stuff, you will get more money. I Know a guy who is getting over 1000 dollars a month with it and who only has around 300 articles as well, but he has very popular articles, that earn money all the time.
Try it out, it will be a challenge, but all worth it :D

I also read that most people are earning well on article writing. I'm quite envious of them. If only I can write good articles maybe I have benefited from it.

Uh, guess what asianxkutiee; it is not the site that is bad and causes people not to earn, it is the person. Just because you don't do well on one site, doesn't mean other people will.
I am already on Bukisa, and do transfer some previously written articles, and guess what, I hardly earn anything from them, even though they earn a tonne through Triond.
Triond is not a waste of MY time. I know exactly how much I get paid for view, because they allow you to see how much you make per month, and how many views you get per month; do the math yourself and figure out how much you are earning.
Guess what, my rate at triond is higher than the rate bukisa gives out, around 3.5 at triond, instead of bukisa's 3.22.
Also, in my opinion, bukisa isn't very good for getting huge amounts of views, because people see that all these articles are only on the site, and not sister sites(like how triond publishes the articles on healthmad, notecook, etc), so people avoid them usually.
But still, it all comes down to the writer, one site that works for you may not work for another; as I said, I make ten times more money a month with Triond, than I do with Bukisa, with the same articles!
Try out both people and see which you like.

It depends on your skills and your will. Making money online is a long-term game, it will take time just as any offline endeavor. Currently, I'm earning around $350 a month writing online but it did took me about a year to be in such situation.
Now my next target is at least $1,000 monthly residual income -- hope I can do it in a year's time.
If you're willing to learn more, I'd be glad to send you a private message and additional details -- that is, if you give me your consent.

I have been searching for ways to make around $500 a month online but did not find until recently when I found a website that gives you more than $500 passive income per month. But you have to invest $20 per month per month and then your income keeps growing every month until you get $400 per week! It's the best program I have ever come across. If you want to know more I can send you the details.

I can help you make around $450 a month. But it will cost you $165 investments and 23 weeks. No such thing as easy money! especially online.

There are many great answers in this thread. I believe the very most important tip is that it does take time and effort to make money online. There are no legitimate "get rich quick programs".
I would recommend reviewing Internet Marketing Services/Products on the IM Report Card website. Very reliable information.
I also highly recommend that you watch this: http://is.gd/hSiWU
Best of Luck to You.

If you can type really well you can actually do some transcription from home of course depending on where you are located. One site that I sue often is quicktate because they don't require much experience for transcription. With them you are just typing up short two to five minute messages from voicemails. Also another on is callgraph you type up six minute audio files for $1 a piece. I have a referral link for that one so if you want to sign up please pm me and you can sign up under me if you would. Thanks and I sure hope this helps because they do make you good money if you have the time to invest and the typing skills.

You'd have to be a part of a lot of websites to get $300 a month, but you should start with a smaller goal first, like $50, find what works for you, and then just build on it and keep adding to what you can do, but it also depends on how much time you put into it every day.
