Every year we buy those tv mags to say what is going to be on at christmas and i will say that last year it was a load of old rubbish on tv.The only good things that they had on the tv over christmas was the soaps that get really good near christmas.East Enders was good last year i must say.As for the films that they put on well they were rubbish.

Hi ya jugsjugs Yes I think the tv was so bad last year because I can't even remember what we watched. I think we probably played our new video games or something or just played with the kids and their toys. I like to watch the soaps at Christmas too but I also like to watch the Christmas editions of programs like Qi.

Hi Jugs, I got confused on year as the never aired the Great Escape, a tradional one to put on over Christmas, they put it on on the Easter break! very strange. I always buy the mags but in reality we never watch tv as we watch any dvds that may have been bought play board games or new Wii ones. I love the soaps too though. Huggles. Ellie :)

Old rubbish? I happen to love that 'old rubbish'. Stuff like The Bishop's Wife with Loretta Young, White Christmas, Holiday Inn, Walton's Christmas, A Charlie Brown Christams, A Christmas Carol, and the classics go on and on. I wrote an article on Associated Content with my ten favorite Christmas movies. Love those classics!

Here in my country we usually have re-runs on TV. Since my country is not a Christian nation, they pay little attention to Christmas programming. If you want current programmes, you have to have satellite TV broadcasts. This, you must pay and it is not cheap!

TV is usually all repeats near Christmas! Before they start the repeats though, they usually have a Christmas episode. They are usually pretty good. They play the same Chistmas movies over and over, but I like most of them and watch them year after year. Some of them have become a tradition, like "It's A Wonderful Life". I taped it so I can fast forward through the commercials. I usually have it on when I am wrapping.

As long as it isn't another "A Christmas Story" movie marathon or a "It's A Wonderful Life" marathon I am great. Hey, why are there more Hanukkah movies out there? Many of my friends and some of my family members are Jewish, and it's hard to find good Hanukkah movies out there. There are always so many Christmas movies, but never enough Hanukkah movies.

I enjoy watching all of the movies that they air on television at Christmas time and I love the Christmas cartoons. I believe that Frosty the Snowman is one of my favorites, but I also enjoy The Year Without Santa Clause too. Snow Miser and Heat Miser are two of my favorite cartoon characters at this time of the year.

OOPS...this may sound a little "dictatorial" but for the last 30+ years I have banned T.V., in my home..Christmas Eve day, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day, and the only time there was grunting and groaning, was the first coupla Christmases. Now everyone really enjoys chatting, playing cards, board games...gathering outside by a big bonfire, which we have going those three days. Mind you, the stereo is on, for the ambience of the season. Take care and cheers.

Jugs- ABC Family is running their 25 days of Christmas again this year and it looks like a fairly decent line up. This week we've watched The Secret Garden, Beauty and the Beast, A boy named Charlie Brown, A Dog named Snoopy, and Miracle on 34th Street along with some other programs from HUB. I think that overall there will be lots to watch this year. Namaste-Anora

we always have the same films on,chitty chitty bang bang, the snowman, james bond etc,it's sort of a tradition in the uk i think to put those films on every year, but they could add extra ones for the people like me who have been watching them every year for the last 20+ years,it's starting to get boring now

I watch my classic Christmas cartoons this time of year. My niece watched the cartoon "How the Grinch Stole Christmas?" and after it was over she called me up and said "Guess what, the Grinch is a bad boy. Santa will not leave him any presents". SHe is 5 years old. My old time favorite Christmas movie is the original Miracle of 34th Street. I also love watching White Christmas.

I believe that during holidays they expect most regular viewers are out and about and well they do not want to air new things as they feel that viewers will not be tuning in as much. Just a though but kinda makes sense to me.

I agree on that! Without fail, during christmas period or nearing it, HOME ALONE will surely end up on tv as festive movie for christmas! I have been watching that since my childhood days to teenage years and now? Much as i like that movie, but watching it too much has alreayd make me sick and tired of it. Hopefully, there will be something good this year. I won't mind 'polar express' though.

I don't really care what is going to be on at Christmas, because my husband and I are leaving town. We are going to take a nice little vacation, and stay at one of our favourite hotels in Toronto. Can't wait! We did that last Christmas, and it was wonderful.

I love the old tv specials they had in the 50's and sixty's. Rudolph, Charlie Brown, etc. I also like the old Christmas movies that are on TCM. I've tried to catch some of the stuff on ABC Family channel just to try to get into the spirit. I wish they had more specials tho.

haha =D YEah!! When it comes to holidays over here, rubbish movies are always screened on our local channels, if not, the same movies will be repeated again and again.. lol =D ONe popular movie is home alone, while the next is armageddon. Though both movies are nice, but too much of it is very boring, and there's nothing to look forward too.. lol =D

I have dishnetwork and I get the hallmark channel. I see some of the same movies I saw last year on this channel but I still enjoy them. I like the old classics such as "The Bells Of St. Mary's", "Miracle On 34th Street", "It's A Wonderful Life", etc. There are a lot of good newer ones, too.
