I always seem to think that i have caught up with all the washing, only to find that there is yet more to be done.Half the clothes i do not even think have been worn since the last time i washed them, but there they are all in the washing basket. At this rate i will need an industrial washing machine. Also this time of year it is really hard to get them dry, not even the dryer can keep up with all the washing.

Hello joystick! You are right. I don't know what happened with these clothes, they seem to pop up on their own, lol! The nature also did not cooperate as the rain keeps on pouring here in our place, ugh!

My washing machine, as well as my dryer has been on all day every day since well months ago now,i think it could do with a rest that same as i need a rest.At this rate the machine will be worn out, lol.I would love to think that i could have a whole 24 hours where as it would not need to go on.

I know the feeling, and i also hate to try and keep up with the piles of laundry that seem to accumlate. Having a small child that continually makes messes compounds the problem. i have to wash her sheets two or more times a week, and she goes through at least one outfit a day.

I think even with adults they seem to have just as much washing as the children.People that manage to spill things on their bed sheets as well as their clothes and then as you say childrens bed linen as well as their clothes that they manage to keep needing them washed. My washing machine is only off when i am asleep.

I live by myself so my washing is quite manageable. At the moment, I have one load in the washing bin ready to be washed, one load on the dryer drying off and one load in the ironing basket ready to be ironed.
Especially at this time of year with the snow fall we have been having, I tend to spend my time either at work in my uniform then lazing around the house in my PJs, which does not create much washing.

yes, i have to do a load or two of laundry every day or it will get away from me very quickly. i imagine you have a bigger family and more than one load a day. it also seems i can never keep the kitchen clean. there are always dirty dishes in the sink. sometimes i get up in the middle of the night for a drink of water and end up doing dishes. must be from after i did the dinner dishes. aarrgh! it's never done and will never be done. i guess we have to count our blessings. so many people are alone. we have a beautiful, messy family to love and laugh with every day ( yes, even to fight with). and another thought...it'll be there when you get to it. so take a little time for yourself every day.

I find that all the time, it seems that the people in my house like to use the floor as a wardrobe so i see the clothes on the floor and dont know if they are clean or dirty so i end up putting it all back in the machine to wash. its a nightmare

I have 6 children, as well as two adults that are in my house.Wet beds, dirty clothes, bed linen and even teddys clothes now is what i get all of the time.I think that there is never a day that there is no washing, so my washing machine is always doing over time all of the time.I never know what is dirty and what is clean, as my son trashes his room and there are clean clothes that they have not worn that i get to wash all over again.

I don't have a huge family, but you wouldn;t think do from my laundry load. It always seems to be waiting for me. i will find things in the laundry that i dont even remember putting there. Laundry seems to be an endless cycle at my house. Nothing can ever be clean at the same time.

I also experienced that before. I discovered I have no talent in washing my clothes. I realized laundry is not my specialty. And I don't want to spend my precious time washing my clothes (except with my underwear). That's why I am trying my best to make a lot of money so I can hire someone to do it for myself. We just have two choices: Time is Gold. You can either spend it washing your clothes, or spend it in making more money.

Laundry is a never ending chore. Even if all the dirty clothes in the house get washed, there's still the clothes you're wearing.
Perhaps, do the schedule of doing laundry to avoid piling it up. Do it once or twice a week. The more you would see dirty clothes in your hamper, the more you think its tiring.

I really hate washing and I never washed any of my clothes fortunately. Some how I am sick of it. I help my wife in all other chores but washing is not for me . She takes care of the washing.
We have our maid do the washing drying etc with the help of my wife. I help my wife in dusting and keeping the home neat and clean. As i told washing really turns me down and down my energy levels.
Have fun

Yep, I've noticed that. Even if you think you've washed everything, by the time it's all put away, you find at least one thing that was either forgotten or needed washing since you finished. Always! It was worse for me when my kids were young because I'd sometimes find articles of their clothing in the oddest places!
Still, now that they are grown and doing their own washing, I still always seem to have something that needs washing. If all the clothes are done, I will notice it's time to wash the curtains or the bedspread and blankets... there's always something.
So, yes, laundry is a never-ending job, much like washing dishes. There are some things I love doing around here like raking leaves or shoveling snow, things that, when you are finished, you are FINISHED... for awhile at least.
Laundry and dishes are two things that are definitely not on my 'favorite things to do' list.

I can totally relate to this discussion. Our laundry pile never seems to get any smaller. No matter how many loads I do in a day, there is always another huge pile waiting. And now that my two boys are getting older, play sports and otherwise get dirty ALL THE TIME, it never ends. Weekends where they each have 2-3 games apiece are the worst--I have to wash 2 uniforms every day! And when they get sick, I have to wash the sheets and towels, PJS, etc., every day, too. Our family is definitely helping laundry detergent companies to stay in business!
