I've noticed in quite a few movies and broadcastings that english speakers tend to use the word 'gig' while referring to some sort of tasks/talents/items. May i ask what exactly does it refer to in which particular context?
Thoughts?

hi, this is a well used phrase in england. a gig is often when a music group are performing. 'we have a gig on wednesday night at the local pub'. 'our gig was a success lots of students turned up'. hope this helps.
