yeah..i believe that prayer is very effective especially if you have trials..there are sometimes that it seems GOD is sleeping..maybe perhaps He's not..he's just listenin to you and your delimas-you need to listen to him -that's what prayer is, listening and being silent!! he may not answer some prayers cause he has better plans for us..but when trials strike..PRAYER IS ALWAYS THE BESOLUTION

Well, personally I think I pray in order to air what I feel to God, yes, He knows everything going on in my heart and mind, but at times that I have problems and I can't talk to anyone, then praying to Him lessens my burden, and at times that I'm happy I thank Him because I want Him to know that I acknowledge His help and guidance and is thankful for the blessings that He has showered upon me...
Just like in any relationship that needs communication, prayer is a way of communicating to God...just for me...

Yes I agree with you that prayer is a communication or 2 way communication to God. Do you agree with me that most prayer are all asking favour to God? That's why I ask through this topic that prayer is communicating to God in all ways to doing, that's why bible said "whatever you do, do it for the glory of God"... see you around

Even though Jahovah knows us and knows what we need if we didnt talk to Him or make request from Him we would be taking Him for granted and nobody likes that. Example: if we have a mate we know they love us but still we love to hear it too.

What is prayer? It is communication with God. Is it only about asking for things? No, giving thanks and sharing thoughts is also very important. Since God can know all things, why do we need to speak to him? Because we are building a relationship and in a relationship, communication is the key to success. Plus, we enjoy talking to our friends and God can be our closest friend and we can also enjoy talking to God. With God as a friend, life is always good, even if it is not so great now, we know there are better things ahead.

When I pray my mind is relaxed after doing so. Prayer brings me to making me feel better about myself. When I am upset prayer relaxes me snd makes me feel better when I pray to God. I feel like God is listing to me and he has answered my prayers when I really needed him to.

Hi visavis, sure you can be my friend and you are telling me that you can help me pray to be a doctor without going to a medical school. If God grant us my wish I could practice medicine without a degree in medicine. Is this what you are saying?
You must know if I did that I would end up in prison. On the other hand if our prayers isn't answered it means that God has other plan for me, but what about my free will, have I lost it?

Here my friend my answer to your question.. Yes even you did not going to medical school why if you read the bible account Jesus is a son of carpeter there but He healed all kinds of diseases, is it possible but logically now at present yes you cannot get degree without practice and study. Regarding your free will, frankly speaking we don't have freewill (reference: Ephesians 1:11)... coming soon my next discussion is about.. see you around

Why not? Nothing impossible to God, when angel of God said to Abraham that in the next season he will become a father, Sarah laugh because she knows that she is old and baren, but after one year Isaac born... In your case if your really desire to be a doctor God will give to you. However if not give to you, God has anothe plan to you which is better than become a doctor.. please note my word.... shall I be your friend here... see you around

The prayer I say are one of thanks. I thank G-d for creation of the Sabbath and for the miracle of Hanukkah. For others I assume prayer helps them cope . They ask G-d for help or a blessing.

Prayer is our way of communicating to God. Be it a request or saying thank you, it is prayer. When we cry invoking His name , that is prayer.
To be honest, i always pray to God for myself and for my family in the morning upon waking up for guidance and at night before going to bed , to thank him and ask forgiveness for whatever knowingly or unknowingly done wrongs . Along the way to the office as i ride in a public transport, i savor the beauty of the surroundings and thank Him for it.
Would you believe, that whenever i wasn't able to pray because i am in a hurry not to get late to the office, my day will really not be a good day! So, i really make it a point to pray upon waking up. My prayer is my weapon for the day. Should something bad happen, i know He will guide or give me a hint on how to solve it.
I had had major trials in my life, and i can say it was Him who mitigated the effects on me. It was Him who guided me how to go about it, and it was Him who gave me people and circumstances that leads to solution.
Prayer for me is a weapon by itself, that you could be armed with as you go on with life.

In my opinion Prayer is Thanking God. Not merely asking our wishes to be fulfilled everyday. I do prayer everyday to god after taking my bath, while waking up from the bed, While going to work. My prayer is nothing but giving my thanks to God for giving me another day to make my accomplishments,
In other words
I thank god early in the morning from the bed for giving me another day.
I thank God for giving me my breakfast, my lunch and dinner.
I thank God for completing my day.
Yes we do have many problems and day to day issues, I feel God is by my side and half of the work is already done by him the later half is given to me.
I pray for strength to complete my tasks. I pray for courage to face the situations.
I feel he is with me, in me always.
Prayers make you much more confident, Prayers will make you know God is with you and he answers us.
This is my way of praying and my opinion on prayer.
If it helps fine.
Happy Living

agree, i think prayer is also a way to relieve stress. I tend to worry a lot but after praying and surrendering everything to God, i have peace of mind.

Prayer is very important in our life as i do prayer regularly. It gives me strength to fight with odds in life. I am not saying that it really works, but it is the faith in something that works for us.

According to Christian belief, God, the supreme being, knows everything. Everything that happens is God's plan.
Praying makes the person doing it feel comforted (maybe) but it doesn't "work" as you say. What happens just happens. Some people might think their prayers are answered when things go the way they want but why would God answer the prayer of one individual and not the other?

I believe in the power of prayer ever since. We were raised that way. So I pray every day, every night, everytime I need it and if God really knows I'm sincere, all of my prayers come true. I just have to prove Him I'm worth all the blessings.

There is a bible verse that states, "Ye have not because ye ask not." Yes, God knows all about each of us, but He desires communication with us. There is another verse th at says, "Be still and know that I am God." That puts things in the proper perspective. He is God and we are his subjects. We need to respectfully ask for what we need. We also need to thank him for all that he has provided.

I only knew one reason why i prayed...it is because,
I HAVE KNOWN AND RECOGNIZE THE GOODNESS OF MY CREATOR,AND THE FIRST THING I DID IS...GIVE THANKS AND PRAY!

Hiya visavis,
Prayer is needed in every aspect of our lives. To pray I think anchors in us even more the faith that we already have. We can have our doubts too but deep inside we know that the Prayer will be answered some time or another.
I donĀ“t pray about everything but about the most needed for yes and the minor things well they take second place sometimes.
All depends on how we feel also.
I think Prayer can move the seemingly impossible and if we were all to pray together in one group and in accordance with the Prayer even stronger.

I pray because i wanted to thank God for all the blessings he has given me, and pray for guidance and when i ask something like asking for good health, strength protection and many more. I pray because i feel more relax and i feel im a bit more closer to God. I pray because i know he is the only person who understands me and that he will never say anything bad to the crazy things im doing. For me prayer is a way to be with God and show my faith and trust in him.
