Friends, see this picture. You’re looking at Ukrainian Igor Vovkovinskiy while he’s sitting, nothing special, you may think, but you’ll see the difference when he is up…
Igor arrived to the US at 7 and he was already 6 feet tall and weighed 200 pounds. According to Guinness World Records, on May 18, he got the record of the tallest man of America measuring 7'8.33" (234.5 cm)
Well my height is six feet two inches, I come under the tall category in India, my elder son is 5’ 8”, younger is 6’ 1”, daughter is 5’ 8”, my dad was not tall but his dad was tall. Seems it is hereditary.
What about you and your family members?

Unfortunately I got the short end gene of the family I am a mere 5ft 3in tall while my grandfather is 6ft 3in and my father is 5ft 5in. Of course my mom is the smallest of all she is only 4ft 9 1/2 in, that 1/2 inch really matters to her lol. She is cute as a button and looks like a little china doll. I do wish I was taller like my grandfather and his cousins. Actually my grandfather compared to his brothers is short his oldest brother is 7ft 3in tall and the youngest is 7ft even. Most all my cousins on that side of the family are very tall. I think the tallest of those relatives is about 7ft 10in. he even had to have a house built specific for him because he was too tall to go in them and the furniture needed to be a bit bigger too. Man I wish I got some of their genes and were just a few inches taller.

LOL I don't know but I know he built a special house for himself and the other one is a Border Patrol agent and barely fits in the helicopter, his knees are way up by his face when he sits in it. I should tell them to apply for that though it would be neat to see them in there.

hi professor I am in the US and am only five ft. two in , like in five ft two , eyes of blue, has anyone seen my gal. thats an old rather corny song here in the U.S.My dad was five 7 as was my grandpa while my mom was five four so we are all shorties really. My husband was 5ft 9 inches so he could reach high shelves for me. lol. My son is about 5ft7 inches. so again we just are not very tall. but I was the shortie of my family which in crowds makes me nervous as I often have lost sight of the person I was with.So my family is all on the short side. YOU all sound so nicew and tall, and able to reach things too. lol lol.I am listening
to Mozart while I am mylotting and it is so calming for me, I think I read that Mozart was a very short man too only five foot four inches tall.

I agree Hatley you are all short, being short or tall has advantages and disadvantages too, in a mob, if police uses sticks to drive away people, it is the tall who are effected..
Thanks for the details LOL.

As a youngster schoolboy i was short, stunted, weak and anaemic. However when i came to college i joined a gymnasium and started the exercises/This benefitted me greatly and my height started increasing and i also became quite muscular .My height during school was less than 5.00 ft and after doing these exercises plus body building it rose to 5 ft 7 1/2 in and stopped there and stabilized. My younger and only brother is 5 ft 11 in and his daughter is 5 ft 7 in.The younger generation, i have noticed, is very tall and i have seen that the avg height of most boys is 5 ft 8 to 5 ft 11 in.Even girls are growing taller nowadays and average 5 ft 5 in. During Lord Ram`s time it is said that he was over 10ft tall and so were other people.During Lord Krishna`s time the heights had lessened and in this Kali Yug the heights became even less. However it seems now that the trend is reversing and i would not be surprised if in a 100 years time people will start averaging around 7 ft and even more probably.

My height is around 5.77 feet. I am the tallest in my family. My father is only 5.25ft and my mother 4.92ft. All of my brother and sister range from 4.92ft - 5.25ft. My height increased significantly when I was in senior high school. I used to played basket ball every day. Maybe that make my height increased. For Indonesian people, 5.77ft of height is tall enough.

Hi, professor!
I'm 183cm, my mother is 168cm and my father is 161cm. I'm under the tall category among men in China, my mother is also relatively tall among Chinese women, but my father is short. It seems I inherit my mother's character unilaterally.

Wow that is too cool.I am very short so, if I was standing next to him I would look like A child. I also think It is hereditary because a lot of my children are short and a lot of people in my family are very short to, however my 11 year old daughter is very tall she is almost taller than me.I wonder if life is any different being so tall.

In my family we have tall people, like over 6 feet. We also have people under 5'8" I am 5'4 and that is an average height in my family for the woman. Most of the men are over 6 feet tall. Part of the family is tall because one grandfather was told and grandma was short like 4'11'! That is why we have mixture in my family!

It seems that for the msot part our family is pretty short. I am only 5'3" and my sister is 5'5", my brother, however is right about 6' tall. Then there are our children. My daughter is eight years old now and she is about 4'6" which is pretty tall for her age, but I suspect that she will top out at around 5'6". My son, who is four years old, is 3'9" and I think that he will end up being just a little bit taller than Kathryn because of the fact that he is a boy.

When it comes to my family members there is a mix between tall and short. Me I am 6' 2" so I am tall. My oldest sister and my father are both 5' 11" so they are on the tall side. The rest of my sisters and my brother are all 5' 8" or shorter with the shortest being my mother who is 5'4".
Now I have uncles and nephews that are tall over 6'. All of my nieces are short but they are not fully grown yet so they may get taller. As well my 8 year old daughter is like 4'3" so she will be on the tall side when she grows up. That is how the height thing goes in my family.

My dad was 5'10, my brothers are 5'8" and 5'11', my sisters are 5'1 and 5'3" and i'm also 5'3". An expert once said on tv that genes play a very small part in a person's height. It's the food that we eat and the kind of exercise that we get when we were kids. In Korea, an infant until the child reaches 2 or 3, receives some kind of exercise from their mom to stretch their legs as per doctor's advise. The hold the baby by the legs and hang them upside down as when they're playing with them. This way the muscles from behind the knee can be stretched and can help the child grow taller. It's also good for blood circulation according to their doctors.
