We all eat to live but some people live to eat.I have heard some people saying that we should eat more to live a healthy life. According to them if eat more we get more calories and thereby increase the duration of life.In my experience I have come across people eating less and living a healthy life but they live a regulated and systematic life.I feel that it is not the quantity but the quality of food that determines life span.It should be balanced diet.In my view the more we eat the less will be the span of our lives. What do you say..?

I eat a lot but I'm still very thin, I haven't gotten sick except for minor colds for a very long time maybe 5 years and I haven't even got a fever. Who's to say I'm not healthy? Is it because I eat a lot? Maybe not, but I honestly don't know, I don't necessarily just eat healthy foods either. I eat anything!

Thanks! Yeah I guess I'm lucky, although I would've liked to be able to gain some weight because my arms are really thin. But we can't have them all can we? I'mjust glad I feel great!

Congrats. You are one of the lucky few who can eat a lot and still keep slim.It is your constitution.People like you are one in a million nay a billion . You should be grateful to God for giving you such good health. My of us are not as fortunate as you are. What ever it may be it is advisable to eat healthy food in limited quantities regularly. One should study his or her body and decide on eating.May God bless you...

Every one wants to live healthy life. But the temptation to eat more is great and difficult to resist. Some people say what is life if we cannot eat as much as we can. Some eat to live and others live to eat.Keeping health in view and studying our body needs which differ from person to person we have to decide on eating.Youngsters can afford to eat more as they do physical work while the aged should restrict intake of food. That is what I feel...

Hi,
I don't see the point by saying eating more to be healthy.
From my point of view, to stay healthy, we have to pay
extra attention to our food consumption.
Eating more healthy food like vegetables and fruits, will keep
us stay healthy.
of course, we have to consume for vitamins in our daily life.
It helps to boost up our immune system.

So you say that we we can consume more quantity of vegetables and fruits which will not do harm to our health.Correct.But we cannot live on them only.We need other things for taste. Particularly junk food is very tasty and we cannot resist temptation of eating them.I think we can eat junk food once in a way but in small quantity. They are easily sid but difficult to follow

I don't think that we need to eat more in order to be healthy. i believe we should eat the right foods to stay healthy. More isn;t always better and less can be just what we need.

Therefore by eating more we can be healthy is a myth.As you rightly say taking the right type of food is the beneficial to health and not the quantity. Moreover more quantity of food gives strain to liver and other muscles in the stomach and thereby may lead to diseases.Better take less food and live healthy life

Yes . We should also know our body condition apart from taking healthy food.Youngster can consume more food because they can work and digest them. But old people should be be very careful not to overload the stomach.they cannot digest as they do not work hard like youngsters. What ever it may be we should know our body first and foremost....

The more we eat, the more we kill ourselves. Most of the food right now are not healthy and natural compared to 30 years ago or so. It's sprayed with pesticides and unless you eat organic food, you can't say you're perfectly healthy.
I agree with you, it's not the quantity but the quality. And if we eat more and sleep immediately and the food wasn't digested well, we might end up waking up in heaven or hell!

You are right. The foods we now eat is not really healthy compared the foods of 30 yrs ago as they are now grown with chemicals and pesticides. You suggest that we eat organic food but my doubt is whether such food is available in all places particularly in underdeveloped countries like India where I live or undeveloped countries.Your advice that that we should not eat in large quantity is also welcome as it leads to immediate sleep.ThanQ

According to you it is quality and not quantity that matters in deciding our health. No doubt we should not take junk food. But the problem is junk food is very tasty and we cannot resist the temptation. Therefore we can take junk food in small quantity once in a way. What ever it may we should avoid taking either good food or junk food in large quantity.Regularity in taking food is also very important. We should avoid taking food in the middle of the night when we happen to wake up...

In my opinion , its not the amount of food that keeps a man healthy. It doesn't matter how much we eat, but it matter the nutritious value of the food. If we eat food which are nutritiously rich, we will be healthy, on the other side eating junk food of a larger quantity won't keep us healthy. So, whatever be the quantity , eat good and healthy food.

You are right. We should eat healthy food. The quantity also matters because overloading the stomach even with good food may lead to digestive problems. You should also consider which food suits your body. Some have allergy for certain type of food. That should also be taken into consideration while deciding healthy food.In any case we should not over eat. Then only you can be healthy and live happy life...

It really depends on what works for you. Most people have to eat more healthy foods to remain healthy or rather foods that are considered to be healthy, because that can be a matter of opinion. While others can eat some more different foods, that might be a bit on the unhealthy side by some standards. I think that really, different people handle different things with their body. Still it is just down to what works for the person at hand. Still, moderating what is a good medium is going to allow you to live a nice healthy life, at least in theory at least.

quality of life is the number one concern of this generation, eating more than the required daily food will make you earn more weight and uhhealthy.
and consider also what food you are eating if they are grown without pesticides.
remeber that chemicals will give us sickness.
and daily exercise....

You suggest that we take only the required quantity of food instead of in large quantity. You are correct. But you want us to avoid vegetables and leafs grown on pesticides and chemicals. My doubt is whether it is possible. In many places we get such stuff only. How to avoid them though we know they cause sickness to us.Your view that we should do daily physical exercise is excellent and commendable...

Hi chayapathys! I think what you're saying is that it is best to eat frequently but in small portions. And yes it is best to eat healthier options like fruits and vegetables instead of junkfood or fatty food. Nutritionists say that we should eat frequently (like 5-6 times a day) BUT in small quantities. That way, we get full easily and we don't overeat.

According to you you can eat more of healthy food and not junk food.Somehow I feel we should also not consume healthy food more and it may not always advisable because we may face digesting problem.Even healthy food we should take the optimmum quatity only and depending upon age.The old old people should not eat as much as youngsters. We should also study our body condition which is also very important....
