What are your plans this coming Christmas Day?

Do you have any plans for this year’s Christmas Eve or the day itself? Do you also have activities or traditions that you perform during Christmas? Like going to the provinces or visit some relatives to give gifts? In my case we don’t have many plans for this Christmas but this is going to be the usual as we are doing since I was still a kid. Like we are going to eat on Christmas Eve then the next day our distant relatives will be going here to celebrate the Christmas. Most of them are from the poor community so we are preparing lunch for them and gifts as well. We are also providing activities like games the usual pabitin and breaking the pot. And as for the Christmas eve I still have plans to cook something new like a food that we have never tasted. I hope I could do it.

My family does Christmas somewhat different. We celebrate Christmas( time of giving) on the 24th instead of the 25th. There are two reasons for this: 1) Shopping during Christmas morning is a lot easier. 2) We have several families that have seperate Christmas celebrations as long as the general family Christmas. So after we give the gifts we will then all eat our hearts out.

What do you mean by shopping during Christmas morning? The 25th itself? And yes we are also giving gifts on 24th since we are actually celebrating the Christmas Eve.

Yes, the 25th around 10am is the best time to go.

We will allow the kids to open one gift on christmas eve (keep them from getting up to early on christmas morning) and then we will have popcorn and hot chocolate before going to bed. On Christmas morning we will open gifts, have a nice breakfast and thene dinner dinner with our family and watch some old vhs tapes of christmas and holidays past. It's fun to watch the kids when they were younger.

Wow it seems that you are celebrating the Christmas more in morning compare to the Christmas Eve just like us here in Manila.

We always have oyster stew for dinner on Christmas Eve, for a few reasons. One is that it's my daughter's birthday and that's her favorite soup, another is that I always needed to make something that would leave no leftovers.
