The following should help:
1) Place the wireless router as centrally in the house as possible
2) Place the wireless router as high as you can
3) If it is possible to angle the aerial(s), angle them at 45 degrees to vertical
4) If it is legal and possible to increase the power of the router, buy longer aerial(s) and consult the user manual to see how to increase the signal strength. This may not be possible for all routers and it may not be legal in your country. Increasing the signal power too much may shorten the life of the router: only increase it (if possible at all) within the recommended limits.
5) It is possible to install a repeater to extend the coverage but this is usually only necessary in large offices or where walls are of thick masonry or contain metal.
6) Consider using a device which plugs into the electricity socket and uses the mains wiring to transmit the network signals. These consist of two devices which simply plug into any power socket in the house to which one connects a standard Ethernet cable. The device uses the ring main in the house and filters the Ethernet signal safely and effectively.

well, you didn't specify if your using a wire or wireless connection...anyway, you can improve your internet connection by doing some basic maintenance on your PC, in case you didn't know, run disk defrag, scan disk, virus/malware scan, clear your recycle bin. an unusually slow internet connection experience is often the only sing that your computer is infected with viruses or other malware. delete old files and temporary files. never allow the free space on your C: drive to be less than 10% of the total size or twice the installed RAM...or reset your home network, sometimes restarting your home network or your router if you have one will drastically increase the speed of your connection
