Do you prefer to listen to the same kind of music or a variety?

There are lots of different kinds of music (obviously). Some might like to listen to a specific genre while others like a variety. I personally listen almost exclusively to Japanese idol music and don't really care to listen to any other types of music(albeit there is a lot of variety within the idol genre itself).
What about everyone else? Do you listen just to one genre or lots of different ones on a regular basis?

No, I'm not Japanese; I do speak Japanese at a pretty good level though.

I like all kinds of music. I like to mix it up. Recently, I even discovered I like some country tunes. I have often listened to classical music. Unfortunately, I find it soothing so it usually makes me sleepy.

I enjoy listening to a variety of musical genres. My favorite being country music. I like listening to rock, pop, rhythm and blues, and even some rap. Most of the music that I listen to must have a good beat or the lyrics should be something I can relate to. Generally though, my music is set to the country station.

I prefer to listen to a wide variety of different music.I like rock, classical , trance, techno and oldies.I really do not have a particular favorite but seem to like classical the most as it is calm and soothing and helps me take my mind of of the stresses of everyday life.I listen to music just about anywhere from walking down the street to studying my college work and i find that certain kinds of music such as classical stuff actually helps me study. It works for some more than others but i think it helps me out.

I listen to all types of music. I can listen to songs from a long time ago and current songs. As long as the songs lyrics make sense.

As an ex professional musician (keyboards) over time I have developed a wide taste in music. I enjoy classical because I trained with a classical piano teacher. Later I started work in a soul band and really loved the sound of soul (that was a long time ago!) .
Later on I worked in a night club and got to love jazz and then worked with a pop singer and got to love that. I guess I love every kind of music. It makes life worth living... _Derek

I love reggae. In fact some reggae artist will sometimes take a song and re-do it in reggae. I believe it sounds much better with the reggae beat in it. If you ever listened to reggae you will find all types of genre done to the reggae beat. Rock, country, blues, jazz, etc.

I don't listen to anything but country music, oldies but goodies. Elvis is my favorite of everyone that sings.

I do have my music favorites that I like to listen to every day. Seldom a day can pass for me without listening to Bon Jovi! I do like to listen to other music as well. Variety is the spice of life!

I like listening to different styles of music, even though I have my favourites among those, which I listen to more often than the rest: metal and EBM. But besides those two, I also like some rock bands, some japanese artists, and I also like to listen to movie and game soundtracks. I think it's nice to be able to enjoy different types of music :)
Take care!

I have a special place in my heart for music. I enjoy listening to many different types of music and I can respect the types that I don't realy enjoy listening to. I can't say I listen to everything anymore because I have never heard Japanese idol music. But I do listen to many from classical and Opera to Rock. Country I have to say would be my favorite, I listen to it the most. Second would be rock and I tend to lean toward rock more when I am angry. Others I need to be in the mood for. I am an opera singer in my car on long road trips by myself lol. I have the Phantom of the Opera sound track in my car for such occasion. I have no idea what genre Evan Essence is but I love them. Classical music calms me, I realized this when I was still in the hospital from giving birth to my son. I was freaking out about going home because I drew a blank on how to take care of an infant, and my husband put classical music on and I calmed down. Christian is upbeat, pop is ok but it gets old fast, techno has a good beat (you can't deny that) and it makes interesting noises lol. The two genres I don't realy like to listen to are hip hop and rap. Hip Hop I have a love hate relationship with. I love the music, but I hate the lyrics. Rap is ok but it's the same way with the lyrics. I can respect rap because it's like rough poetry, but so much of what is played on the radio has lyrics that disgust me. Oh! and I absolutely love hispanic music. I wish I could dance like a beautiful latina. So thats my spill on music, hope it entertained you.

Oh I listen to just about every kind of genre except I never heard of Japanese idol music and no offence to those whom like country, but I shy away from that one. Most of course does exalt my L♥rd, except of course classical which may exalt Him, but without words one can't tell..:)

I'm all over the place when it comes to listening to music. I don't really have a preferred genre or anything like that. I just listen to what I like and it doesn't matter if it's a rock song or a foreign song or whatever. I like to mix things up a bit. Lately I've been listening to a wide range of genres like kpop, country, r&b and anime songs. I've also branched out a bit and started listening to classical and other instrumental music too (particular Chinese classical music with instruments like the erhu and flute).

I listen to Korean pop music more often than chinese pop music. Korean pop, also known as Kpop, has very unique music sense and the singers are all very fantastic. Sometimes, when I feel tired or I just want to relax, I will listen to smooth jazz. Even when I take a nap, I'll also listen to jazz. So overall, I just listen to these 3 genres only.
