Do you sleep during class?

Are you sleepy when the lecture of the professor is going on?
Do you really tend to sleep when the teacher is on the lecture or while he/she is talking in front?
Have you ever caught in the act? What was their reaction?
Do you think you have missed something while you were sleeping inside the class? Or at least you can cope up with it?
I experienced sleeping inside the class for so many times even the teacher caught me she just called my attention and at least she never scolded me. It is not because the lecture was boring that is why I am sleepy but then usually it happens when I lack sleeping and if that is during the afternoon.

Honestly I don't sleep during class. Although I'm very guilty that I use cell phone and I chat during class time. If the lesson is so boring, I will either chat to my seat mate or text someone. There are times that I just write anything on my notebooks like poems, songs and other stuffs.

I did that as well, if I am not sleepy then probably I am doing other things. Though I already have done something during Political Government class that I was sending text messages to my friend while the class is going on. Then I am in front of the professor while he is lecturing. Good thing he didn't scold me though he told me that I shouldn't do that during class hours.

It's been a while since I was in school. But I cannot remember actually falling asleep. I do remember wanting to take a nap though.

You can't really comfortable sleeping in class because you are aware that your professor might scold you. Otherwise that is also embarrassing for your other classmates. Though it depends on situation. I remember before when I was still in high school our teacher allow us to nap for a minute only.

Yes I remember when I was in Form4 and Form 5, I sleeps in the class when the science subjects are being taught. But luckily, I seems to be awake when the teacher looks my way, and she did not really scold me instead she was very understanding. I said I was stress. That's it.

Hi. I sometime sleep when the lecture of the profession is going on. BEcause we can only hear for 1-2 hour and after that we will feel sleepy. But when we work or speak about 5 hours, we still awake. When i study, sometime i try to open my eyes. But it still want to close ...lol

I've experienced that already that I am forcing myself to open my eyes when your instinct really wants to close your eyes and sleep.

yes, i've been guilty of doing this as well a few times when i was still in uni... and this usually happen when i don't have enough sleep the night before or if the lecture is really boring... but i am really lucky that i never get caught by the lecturer... not even once... :-) take care and have a nice day...

Good thing you never caught in the act to the extent that she called your attention. I was been called an attention as well when I was in college. It just so happened that my professor did not scold me because my mother is her professor.

Either way if you lack of sleep or the teachers were boring during their lecture. Especially if they are not about the analysis subject.

Sometimes I do. In fact, a lot of my friends actually did that but most of the lecturers did not care one bit. Some may just say, hi there, please wake him up. Some of us are really sleepy and do not have the focus to concentrate and that explains.

Hi,
Last time when I was still studying in my
university,some lecturers can be pretty boring and I do
feel sleepy, so I will go wash my face and have a cup of
cold drink to refresh myself,it worked for me.
I never sleep in the class,Be it how sleepy and boring is the lesson,
I will try to stay awake and make sure the lecturer never caught me
in act. Or else, i will feel very shy.

That was different in my case that my professor caught my attention and my classmates were just laughing although I didn't embarrassed because in our case it is being normal and yet I am not the only one who was caught in the act.
I am happy to say that I have never slept during class in school. I have seen it happen though. It is not always a student who can fall asleep.@Metatronik (6199)

I never fell asleep in class but I was close to doing so a few times, usually during the first lesson of the day (at 8 in the morning), because I was still really sleepy and hadn't woken up fully, so to speak. I'm not a morning person at all, hehe :P

You are still lucky that your class was 8:00 in the morning while in our case it was 7:00 am that we have to be on school around 6:00 onwards or at least 25 minutes before the flag ceremony at 7:00 am.

There was a time when I have fallen asleep while the teacher is lecturing. I was easily caught because I was seated at the first row. There, the teacher asked me what did I did last night. Good thing was that the teacher accepted my reason even though it wasn't valid. I said that I just can't sleep last night and then the teacher then told some advice on how to get a good night sleep.

That is great that she was able to understand your situation and instead she gave an advised. I did that as well before that I am seating in first row but still I sleep during class.

yep , sometimes i got sleepy in class . 2 hours of lecture is so boring buddy , actually it happens in the afternoon too . dear God i never caught by him . hahaha , i always choose a sit in the corner or sit back of my big fat pal , this strategy always help me feel comfort to sleep in the class . and also when i woke up , hoooamm . Thanks God for gimme times to sleep this afternoon :D

I haven't tried sleeping in the class no matter how much I want to. I always sit in the front and even there are time when me and my friends sit at the back, I am still afraid to get caught. Whenever a teacher catches some of my classmates sleeping, teachers embarrass them so that's why I'm too afraid to sleep even if I'm already so sleepy.

Maybe when she is lecturing she doesn't care if you are sleeping because what she cares is that she is doing her job and she will get the salary.

lol this topic is OLD but anyways I find the question interesting. I do tend to sleep in all my classes since I am so uninterested and sleepy from lack of sleep. Sometimes i even have a full time's sleep and still have to hold myself from snoring in class. It's just that boring.
