I have a four foot standing flamingo wearing a Santa hat, and a wreath around its neck like a necklace. I also have a blue reindeer with neon pink antlers. It's not as big as the flamingo. Those two are my favorite Christmas decorations that I own. Do you guys have particular favorite Christmas decorations? And what do you do with the Christmas cards you get? I stick them on the back of my front door, and it always looks so pretty.

I just recently bought my all-time favorite Christmas decoration. It's a Charlie Brown Christmas Tree. The first time I saw one, I knew I had to have it. Since I've been telling people about it, two others have told me they want one, my son and a friend of mine. I already have it up and, uhh, "decorated".
Here's a photo of what it looks like:

I got it at K-Mart or Big K or whatever it's called these days. I looked them up online and saw that they have them there, although you can buy them from quite a few places online. Mine cost $14.95.

I don't have very many decorations and not so much a particular favorite one. I do however love the fake snow that comes in a can! I can get pretty crazy with that stuff! Writing on windows and what not with it. I put the christmas cards on top of the tv. My grandma puts hers on a string and strings them across the dining room!

we no longer decorate. its just the 2 of us. me and son and neither is big into it lately. i had no favorites really. when the kids were little we decorated however we could usually with the tree. one year we didnt have a tree or extra money for one as we'd spent all we had on kids presents. so, hubby put up a cut out of a tree from green wrapping paper taped to the wall. we put the presents below that against the wall. we decorated it with other cut out things and some old xmas tree lights. it was pretty cool. used to have a pic of it. somehow lost that. but the kids still say sometimes fondly. remember the year we had the paper tree?

Wow! those sound like some interesting Christmas decorations. I don't have many as I don't have a house or anything like that. I have a couple small boxes of ones I"ve gotten as presents over the years.
My favourite one is a mini pink fake tree I picked up post Christmas at Micheals a few years back. It was $2.50 so I think it was a good buy. One year my family didn't have time to do a Christmas tree so we just used that one.
We keep christmas cards and then cut them smaller and use them as labels on christmas gifts. My mom has been doing this for years.
Anyways happy decorating! Enjoy the Christmas season.

I dunno that I have any favorite decorations, just orniments with a few sentiments attached to them. Though I think my hubby would love the flamingo you have! He keeps telling me we need one in the front yard. Though I rather prefer my Momma duck & her ducklings I have for lawn decorations in warmer weather.
Christmas cards I get I hang them off the kitchen curtains or shall I say lay them open balancing on the rod. Then when with last years I take a glass and cut circles around the best portions of the scenes on the cards and I stick them up on the kitchen cubards.

We hardly ever put out our outside decoration anymore because it is somewhat pointless where we live. No one will be able to see them unless they drive in quite a bit from the street. But we do a lot of decorating inside our home. My dad is the one who loves decorating and he's collected a bunch of different things over the years. I think my favorite decorations would have to be this foot tall lighted up tree. We've had the thing for almost twenty years now and it's become a staple part of our Christmas decorations. Another favorite is the mini town that lights up that surrounds our Christmas tree. That's another one that has been around for ages. And finally, the tree topper. We have two different ones we alternate with and this year it looks like it's going to be the star instead of the angel. Most of our decorations are pretty old, we've had them since my siblings and I were children and it doesn't feel right to throw any of them out. There's a lot of sentimental value behind all of them for us.

I would love to see the pictures Ambie. I really would. I have the usual tree and decorations but I do have some plaster cast angels that are so beautiful and I put them on my china closet. And I always have a red poinsettia plant in bloom somewhere in the sitting room. I have not sent out any cards this year to cut down on cost.

We are just decorating around the apartment this year. No Christmas tree, just the decorations. We have our christmas cards pasted up around and it looks very festive. My daughter wears a santa's hat around Christmas time. I used to have some old decorations that my grandmother gave me but I lost them along the way.

Ah, the Christmas cards! We just finished our tree this evening and I walked around with a bunch of Christmas cards trying to find a place for them! They ended up on our wood heater which doesn’t get used at this time of year because it’s summer in Oz. Your four foot standing flamingo and your blue reindeer with neon pink antlers sound so cute! You should upload a picture of them! It is fun to get the decorations out. The last few years we’ve had a lot of homemade ones my daughter made; at the moment we’ve only got one of her creations which is an angel made out of paper plate and a ball but I’m sure we’ll have plenty more by December 25!

I do not have any outside decorations at all, not even lights. I love them though, all the pretty lights are so beautiful. The cards I do get, I hang them up where everyone is able to see them. The Christmas decorations that I do have are set out on the coffee table, and other ornaments that the kids made are on the Christmas tree.

I have been decorating for a few days. I always forget that I have something. I always say I am not going to decorate as much, but then when I get the stuff out there is nothing that I don't want to put out.
I hang my cards around the doorway into the livingroom and it looks nice. It is like having another decoration!

I've gotten rid of most of my outdoor decorations, except for lights, and I didn't even put them up this year. I live too far out in the country and it seems a waste to put them up when no one will see them. I use to decorate my tree with nothing but Santa Clauses, many from Hallmark, but I got tired of them. So two years ago, I bought an 11' tree (my great room ceiling is 15' tall); it's fake, but it really is a good looking, full, tree. I decided to put nothing but Native American ornaments on the tree. (My great room contains my Native American art collection, so it fits really well.) The first year I bought a couple dozen ornaments from the Lakota Sioux children in SD. Last year, I bought another dozen ornaments from the SW Indian Foundation. This year, I bought mostly Navajo ornaments. The tree's looking better each year. This year I didn't know what to use for the top of the tree... Then, I remembered a feather I'd gotten from my sister. The end of it was beaded by a Navajo artist, so I used it. It's kind of cool.

I forgot to add what I do with the Christmas cards. I have a half wall around the sunken great room. I line the cards I get along the top of the wall. That's better than putting them in a Santa Claus bag; that's what I use to do, when I was in to Santa Clauses.

I would have to say that my favorite Christmas decorations is this christmas ball ornament, the kind you hang on the christmas tree. I made it when I was in second grade. My teacher brought in these little clear christmas bulbs and gave us paint and we poured the paint into the christmas bulbs and after we were done adding the colors we wanted we let them dry. It was probably the most fun project that I ever did in elementary school. When I was finished with my bulb it was a swirl of colors that intertwined around each other.
I don't normally get christmas cards but normally I either put them up on my door or bedroom walls or I put them in a keepsake drawer for safe keeping.
