I used to go to the bar at least every other weekend between the age of 21 and 25. Now two kids..working dad..stay at home mom..we just never do anymore. I miss the times away from the kids. I know this is healthy once in a while. We do drink a few at home occasionally. But never go out and get drunk and sick and hung over. Are we just growing up? or are we becoming lame?
What about you? Do you like to go to the bar or drink at home. How often do you drink. For me maybe only twice a month.

Hi,
Going to bar is my past leisure life. When I was in SIngapore,
I used to go to pub/bar for relaxing with my friends on weekend.it
is kinda of entertainment life in Singapore..the night is always
young. Full of people in the pub/bar....lot of excitement going on.
I miss that kind of life.
But I know that I won't never be back to such life again.
Especially having a little boy at my side,it is impossible for
me to enter a pub/bar anymore.

im not a killjoy person i go clubbin with a few friends not everyday but once in a while then we get ourselves slightly drunk. clubbin is fun i must admit and though im fully aware of its stigma to the society that clubbers are stereotyped as this and that, i dont think that would stop me from entering bars. an i wouldnt even bother defending my reputation cuz who are they to label anyone as bad or good the hell i care about what they say and think.ahahaha!

Yep I had my clubbing days also. It was fun dancing but it just isn't fun dealing with the other people anymore. Sometimes people are not good when they get drunk and do stupid or rude things.

Hi natnickeep
Thats so very true with me too. As a college goer, we usually had all our parties at the bar and that was quite entertaining too. But now that the college is over and I am settled - married - I rarely go to the bar to have a drink. On the rare occasions that I have a drink is only at the friends place or mine and that too it is quite a rare thing these days - some festive occasion or a special day to celebrate.
During the earlier days, I could not drink at home as it was a strict NO at my dads place. But today I stay away and so feel happy to have a little party at home.
Cheers,
theSids.

It's good to feel at home and be able to drink in your own home. Relax to your self with your family. Not be around crazy drunks all the time.

I don't like the bar atmosphere, and since my husband and I are divided on the issue (I drink a tiny bit, maybe once a month or so and Hubby don't believe in drinking at all) we don't go near bars anyway. I prefer drinking at home where it's quiet, kids are in bed, and I'm in a calm mood. I'd sip on a drink as I do Mylot or watch videos on YouTube, that sort of thing. I used to drink in bars but the atmosphere really sucked. I just hated it there, and since I'm visually impaired, I have to be extra careful for my saftey.

Yes there is lots of drama at bars sometimes. I also like to sip on something and play online. It is safer.

Yes my perspective is changing. I guess with age the bars become less attractive.

Yes whenever I do go my man and I go with friends. To sing or dance and socialize. But it's very occasional any more.

I have been running my own pub for many years and only recently I slowed down a bit as the economic situation is not too good and people prefer to drink at home now. I am an outgoing type of person and I often go to these nightspots with my husband as he likes to drink and sing in the karoke. He has great voice and I become his greatest fan.
We go clubbing quite often say at least 4 - 5 times a month. This is probably the only entertainment that we indulge more as this place where I live is so boring.

I have a few friends that like to do karaoke also. That is one of the fun things about going. Even though I never sing. I don't have a voice for it.
It is much cheaper now a days to just drink at home.

I do not go to the bar often at all. I don't have any friends that live in the same city as me, my closest geographical friends live in the neighbouring city. I would have to get a taxi to and from the bar which would cost me about £20 in total in order to go to the neighbouring city for a few drinks with friends and I don't have enough money to blow £20 a week on taxi fares. I work in the neighbouring city and usually drive to work, but while I could drive to the bar, I would not be able to drive home from the bar as I would be over the limit.

I do not like going to the bar at all. I have gone to the bar less than five times in my life and the reason being...the smoke! I don't know if I would like it any better now or not since they passed the no smoking in public places in Michigan. I think America is finally growing up.

When I was 21-22 years old I did go to the bars on a regular basis because I really enjoyed doing karaoke and of course having a few drinks. However, since my daughter was born when I was 22 years old, I think I've been to the bar about a total of 10 times. That averages out to about once a year since then. However, my hubby and I do drink at home occasionally (although not regularly). I really think that the difference in my behavior is because of the fact that I've grown up as opposed to becoming lame in my old age.

I do not drink often. I can count all the times I have been to the bar on one hand. I have been there three times! Usually if I drink I'm hanging out at someones house.

During college years, my husband and I goes to the bar on weekends and party with friends. Now that we are married and have 1 kid, we only go when there are occassions and not when we want to. I miss being in college and feel the freedom that we once had before, when you don't worry about kids and going home drunk. I still love the idea of going to the bar to drink if only I ahve the luxury of time.
