I believe most of the people nowadays will have an account in Facebook, and with facebook, you can add anyone you like to friend with. Many people even add someone who they don't even know who they are. And some people will add their boss in their facebook, and the boss know everything you he/she did and of course including if he/she logon to facebook during working hours. If the boss make noise, that will probably not funny at all.
Do you add your boss to your facebook? Or will you add your boss to your facebook?

I only ever add bosses if for some reason they are not my boss anymore, I had one job where it was seasonal so I had a different manager every 6 months, so I used to wait until they were not my boss anymore before I added them. Also I have my privacy settings up so that you cannot see anything on my profile unless you have been added, so bosses cannot see anything that I do.

Yeah the last thing you want is your boss looking at your photos and leaving you comments like "make sure your not late" lol! I think everyone should make sure that they have the privacy settings on full as a lot of companies will look for your profile before hiring you to get an idea of what type of person you are, so if your privacy settings are on full they cannot do this!

It is silly to add your boss to your facebook.
If I am requested by my boss to do so, I shall create a separate facebook account which is solely for working purpose.
It is not wise to mix up our personal life and the working life. I don't feel the privacy at all if everything mixes together.

Of course I won't add my boss to the social networking website. As you mentioned, boss may not happy to see how we are active online in the Facebook. Besides, we play some games on the Facebook and some of your behavoirs can annoy your boss. And if you want to say something, you have to care about your boss's feeling after reading it. In brief, you have to be careful all the time and it is not free to be online in Facebook any more.
I love China

Yes! You are right, it will be no fun at all after adding bosses in your facebook friends list. You will have to watch out of what you did and what you write or even what you friend write on your facebook. So is better not to add any boss in our facebook! FACEBOOK = NO BOSS!
Cheer!

Hi Dude, Really it is good question. My Answer is No, Never. I will never ever add my boss in my facebook account because i really do not want let him/her to know my friends, my interest and other activities. So it would be better one for everyone not to add their boss in facebook as friend. Bye for now and have a good day!!

Hi!
You have got the most famous answer which is NO. I guess many people do not want to let their boss know what they did and who are their friends, family or what their interest. And who knows, if one day you accidentally said something bad about the boss and he will notice it immediately.

Hey yspmyl! i think it depends on what kind of boss you have at work. i know some people just add anyone in facebook, but adding your boss to your friends list, better think twice before doing it. still you wouldn't know if he'll accept your request or not for you to not be able to ready his/her wall posts and some private posts from other friends or colleagues. i do have a friendly boss, and in my case, it is okei for me to add him because he won't see anything unusual about my page, it would even be an advantage to him coz he'll know what's goin on with my life, at work, at home, much more my love life.. =D

Hi! There are really a lot of people who will just accept and will never reject anyone on their facebook, these people will have to bear with some risk that their information being use by some stranger. It need to be filter before you add anyone to your facebook.
For me, even though my boss is friendly and always joke with us, but I still do not add him just to avoid unnecessary problem.

Hi Yspmyl,
After reading out so much on the media and internet about people getting sacked due to their FB accounts, I virtually stopped being active here at FB. Adding up my Boss as a friend on FB or even Twitter is something that I would do as the last thing... There are some secrets and things that are good for sharing out with friends only .
Cheers,
theSids.

Hi! thesids,
Yeah, there are many story about employee being sack by the employer after they talk bad or leak the company's secret. I sometime will use facebook in the company and I did know my boss are using one too. But he never add me and neither me to add him.

If I were working, I'd let my boss/superviser add me. I have nothing to hide and my personality shows on my FB profile. Same as it shows up here in MyLot. I don't change for people, and I'm a very open person. I'm also a very simple person, but I won't take any guff off of people.
I think I'm the type of person who just like people, is all. However, I don't add people that I don't know on my FB, so everyone on my friends list, I know. :-)

Hello yspmyl! I add my direct supervisors before when I was still working and it does not affect our working relationship at all. Of course I so not login to facebok when I am work thus it does not make any difference since I login to facebook on my free time. Cheers!

These days a lot of HR officers ask job applicants if they use social websites... I think it's better to say that you used to have one, but that you don't use it and lost your password... your boss will rarely use facebook to help you, and will almost always use it against you^^

I believe why many HR officers want to know whether you use any social network is because they do not want to hire someone who addicted to social network like facebook. Report said these employee who use social network during working hour cause the company make loses.
