Hi totallyundecided, I used the four celled battery before and this could last for a couple of hours only. It's so inconvenient that I had to bring along with the charger. To me the charger is quite heavy and bulky too
After knowing that the six celled battery could last longer I then replace it with the more durable one. I'm really happy that the brand new charger can last more than four hours and I could enjoy surfing out few hours without bringing the charger. My son adds another extra charger to his laptop that could last more than ten hours or so, but it's rather heavy to carry along
Happy posting

I don't remove the battery even surfing net at home with the charger in it. If will off automatically if the charger is fully charged. Since it's free from charging there is nothing to worry about over charging
Here the electric current service is not satisfied and it might interrupt at any time. Before I removed the battery when using laptop at home. It's sad that all the content typed had gone at once when the interruption happened all in a sudden. Since then the battery always stick to my laptop.
You are very much welcome I hope you will get your desired battery very soon. Have a nice day

Don't over charge because that makes the batteries weaker.. only charge it when you need to.

Most of the time I would charge the laptop battery until it is full and then unplug the charger. I often use the laptop on its battery, until it is about the capacity is about to finish and it shows a warning in windows. As I seldom use the laptop outdoors, it is easy to charge up again. I won't leave the power on when the battery is full because it will degrade the battery. I bought the laptop in June this year and I'm glad the battery still last me 4-5 hours. I might buy a higher capacity battery in future if it is required.

My laptop battery runs out soon. It won't last for 20 minutes now. I think it is better that you won't charge your laptop all the time. Just try to use it until the last minute and then charge the battery. Perhaps it will be better for the battery.
I love China

hi totally My son has a laptop and his lasts about five to six hours ashg he has more powerful batteries; He brings it when he comes to see me and sometimes he borrows the batteries I have extra here. but he can really get up to six hours on his which I guess is pretty fair for a laptop.
I only have a desk top computer myself.

Hello totallyundecided!
I dont actually owned our laptop, my mother owned it.
As i observe my mother`s laptop last`s for about 3-4 hours depends on how you use it.
As i observe listening to music with high volume rate can me your battery lowbatt fast:)
So my tips for you is to use your laptop with a headset:)
Or dont open it if not needed:)
This are the way to save more battery:)

I have an older netbook that does that too. The battery lasts an hour or so and then is kaput. I usually take advantage of a plug if I can if I go somewhere with free wifi, I got the idea from seeing others do it. Since it's old I'd hate to spend the money to buy a new battery.

if we use the laptop with out charging ..the battery life is too low..first this easyly power losting problem will come after that...within 1 mintues the power will go...after that battery life will meet a end..so whenever u get a chance to charging dont miss it..

I use a netbook and initially, it would run on 6 hours. Lately, it runs on 4, which still isn't so bad. We tend to take energy and computer batteries for granted, and the best we can do is unplug it when it's fully charged, or use AC power instead. My netbook is from HP and you can easily take the battery out and keep it plugged. The down side of all this is that when the power blacks out and your files might get corrupted.

If you'd like something with a longer battery life, I recommend purchasing a netbook. Because they have lower processing power, they have a much longer battery life. My laptop can typically go about 3 hours without needing to be charged. I usually let the battery drain, as I've heard that's better for the life of the battery.

I had bought my laptop since 5 years ago. Initially i can use my laptop 5 to 6 hours without running out of battery (i mean without connectted to the battery charger and power supply) but now even with the full battery my laptop will only last for 1 to 2 hours because for the past 5 years i operate my pc (most of the time) under connection with my battery charger which at the meanwhile connectted to the power supply with electricity run :)
The lesson here is if you want your battery to last longer, better charge it only after critical low battery and do not always operate your pc under connection with charger and power supply. Don't over charge your battery, happy mylotting as well.

I agree with wjack2010 laptop battery is only for 2 to 5 hours but when laptop is in new condition. After some years only 2 to 3 hours laptop can work then down the battery. My laptop battery is working only for 2 and half hours.

My old Dell work laptop's battery gets drained fast. So I usually have it plugged in when I'm using it.

My laptop's a Lenovo T400 and it's said to last for about 6 to 7 hours. However, nowadays, it seems to be consuming much more power.

New laptops should last longer than older ones because battery's lifespan is getting shorter due to daily usage. In the case of yours, it's either that it's a new battery and needs proper kick in for the battery, or your battery is spoiled. Sometimes, battery life depends on your usage too. IF u are a heavy user, it's no wonder that battery can only last that long.

You're not alone totallyundecided. For once, I thought if I just charged my laptop's battery well enough, it'll last long but it doesn't. I've also read (on my fiance's laptop manual) that it doesn't matter if you are plugged in with your battery because it still helps your laptop to not go low batt.

mine does the same when I bought it few months ago. I already asked the store about that issue and they want me to return my laptop so they can turn it in to the maufacturer. But I can't because I need it for my work. They said if only I had returned it within a week from the date of my purchase, they will be able to replace it with one that has a battery that should last for 6 hrs. Since your laptop was just recently bought, check the warranty, maybe they could still replace it. laptops are supposed to stand for atleast 6hrs without getting low bat.
