I love castles even making them in air. I used to dream of living in one of them with lush gardens huge halls,a living room lit with fire,a wide swimming pool inside with rose petals strewn in it. Me in fancy white gown with daisies in my hair and my prince charming waiting for me by the stairs...........oops again started to make one in the air. Yes I do love castles.

Yes, I do love castles. I have a silly little daydream where I win a huge lottery and buy a castle in England and live there with dozens of cats and constant visitors. Of course, my castle would be equipped with all the modern conveniences - modern plumbing, electricity, stuff like that - and all the ghosts would be exorcised.

I live in Portugal and lived in Spain....both countries that have many castles....ironically used to protect each from the other and also against the invading Morros. My favorite in Portugal is in Obidos, a small walled-in village in Central Portugal--see photo and enlarge to get clearer picture. This castle has been restore and now being used as a Posada.....government owned hotel. I am also a collector of Maximum Cards--combination of stamp/postcard/postmark.....all of which agree with the subject of the postcard...my specialty is castles and I have beautiful postcards and stamps from all over the world. I believe that Europe has the most castles.

There are loads of castles here in Wales, all slightly different and generally good fun to visit.

They have always attracted me.
They are so majestical and mysterious with a certain charm no other building gives.
