I have used quite a few antivirus softwares. Among them the ones I liked are,ESET Nod32, AVG, Avast and Avira. Now, I have never really bought any of these softwares. So, all of them have been pirated or trial versions. But these are the ones that do the job, atleast for me. If you have a pirated Windows do not even bother to buy an antivirus. It would not do you much good. But you have geniune Windows then you can buy any antivirus software you want to. I would personally recommend ESET Smart Security 4 which is a complete internet security software which include Nod 32. Also Microsoft security essentials is good for genuine Windows and it is free. I do not know about Mac, but all these softwares surely have Mac versions as well.

Many people has said that to me. Maybe when buying a software, AVG is not a smart choice. There is surely other softwares which are much better than AVG. But to me the free version of AVG is at par with the free versions of others. I have never encountered any problems with AVG and am happy with it. Thank you for your concern, mate. Appreciate it.

I used to have AVG enterprise and one of the shop told me that AVG sucks big time. Well, maybe it was their thinking but just to let you know! +1 on Nod32

For me, Avast! is the best choice. I've been using it for 2 years already. My pc didn't have any spyware, malware, or even trojan even if I download bunch of different files. I just download this full version of the software using bit torrent client. It works fine until now.

Well this is easy. Are you on budget? If no then it going to be easy. Norton - well known. Never let me down Kapersky i- newcomer in the top best antivirus. Cheap too! Nod32 - I would say this is the best out there. McAFree - same wz Norton

Nod32 is one of the best. I will agree with that. It is not very expensive and also doesn't slow down the computer like Norton or McAfee. It is a nice investment.

Very good choice... I personally hate Norton. It is a power consuming, irritating piece of junk. Although I have not used the recent versions, I one I did use a couple of years ago was so awful that I never bothered to take a look at the others.

Hi, For me best Anti-virus that which not only detects most of the threads but also disinfects them instead of deleting them. There are many antivirus programs available in the market. I find particularly BitDefender and Kaspersky as one the best. I will also suggest Sophos. Personally I use bitDefender. Please check the link below which gives comparative study of the different anti-virus programs. http://anti-virus-software-review.toptenreviews.com/v2/ http://www.pcantivirusreviews.com/ You can see bitDefender is amongst the top rated antivirus. happy Mylotting

Right now I am using 360 which is one of the famous antivirus websites here. I like to use it because it seems it won't slow down my computer. And it is totally free of charge. And my computer is fine until now. So I think it can protect my computer well. I love China

You can try installing AVG's 2011 edition. The free edition is enough to protect your system. All along, I've been using AVG and it's great!

I've been using the AVG Free for over 10yrs and have never had any problems with viruses or malware. I recommend it highly and I really don't see as it uses all that much CPU. The free version is enough for home users. I think the Pro is mainly for businesses.

Kaspersky is the best antivirus for me. I've been using it since 2003 and i have never had any problems with any viruses or malwares. it also also does not use up too much ram unlike the norton or mccaffe. using kaspersky also makes me confident that i could open any attachment in my email without worrying that it could be a virus.

Well windows 7 comes with windows defender by default and that program is ok for basic level protection.I personally use a freeware anti virus program called avg.It is very useful in defending again spy ware and viruses and it gets updates almost daily to keep your machine protected from latest threats online.I have used it for over two years and my laptop and desktop are virus free and I have not had to reformat due to viruses yet since installing the program.I highly recommend it and think it is the best free protection program from viruses out there.

I am suggesting of kaspersky of its powerful protection against pc virus. Other antivirus you may try like bitdefender which was rated as No 1 antivirus worldwide few years back. Avast and avg i do not recommend because of their low sensitivity and specificity in detecting the pc virus, if you perform daily scan with these 2 softwares, they will provide you with a list of pc virus detected in your pc, hardly for me to believe my pc was so severely infected. Norton antivirus tend to slow down your pc and is not a good choice as well.
