no i do not as I am not so impatient and if its a mylot friend I will really read it as most lengthy discussions have something of value
'in them my young impatient bored friend and it might just
interest you if you could get by that damned bored word all the
time.I hate your short short nothing discussions that offer
nothing to discuss and are not what mylot admins says discussions
should be,If you spend all your time texting then maybe ypu
ave forgotten how to read real English sentgences, all of us
are not that impatient;

Don't worry, Hatley, I understood your point of view, and I agree with it, even with those typos. We all make typos now and then. Anyway, is way easier to understand a phrase with a few typos than one written in chat language, don't you think?

Personally for me, I often think it just depends on the situation, and what the person in each discussion, etc. might be wanting to portray. Personally I think that in reality if you are just jabbering to try and earn some Extra money over talking about something you are really passionate about others will see it, and it will not really matter the length of the discussion for sure.

I agree, long posts are to long to read through. Detail is excellent, but here on mylot they do not attract my attention. I like direct and to the point the best as well!

Hello my friend chowee!
There are times I don't want to read long posts,I guess it will depend on the topic being discussed. If the topic is of my interest I will definitely read it especially if the post is under my discussion post. There are discussions that needs a long explanation so I understand why some are long.
Short posts are better indeed but only one sentence or two is not enough I guess.
Happy mylotting!

I agree that long posts can be boring sometimes but very short posts (like just "yes" or "no") can be bad as well. I think what matters isn't the length but the quality. If the quality is good the post will be interesting to read regardless of how long it is.

I like to read long posts but not too long to cover the screen. Since I am also a long winded person, my discussions are quite long but try to shorten them as much as possible with the readers in mind. Some are bored easily with long posts and the moment they see a 3 para discussion they will just ignore it and moved to the shorter ones. Well, if you really take your time to read a well thought out discussion you'll be surprised how much valuable information contained in the discussions.

When long posts are interesting i am not bored. If they don't make sense to me, i can get lost and so my interest will fade.

Hello friend, i can say that long posts sometimes loose me as a reader, but i also write long posts, so when i read i'm trying to check the topic (first, if the topic grabs me it's o.k.). If the point is interesting, or the question is interesting for me, or the story is funny, i would read it for sure. Doesn't matter how long is the leading or some other post.
I don't like when people communicate and put walls between themselves and the others. And also i can say that if someone write a short post, i can see that the same person doesn't share with so big pleasure his experience, just write it ... to say something, doesn't matter what.

I would much rather read an interesting long post than to read ones with 1 or 2 lines that are not discussions at all..Some people feel the need to explain their discussions with a lot of detail and that's ok with me, as long as it doesn't veer off into so many directions, you lose the gist of the discussion altogether.

yes i agree longposts are boring especially if not very interesting. so better keep our posts concise and direct to the point. we can elaborate and summarize but in a brief manner. its so dull and boring when it gets too long.

I am also like short post. Because my English is not good so that I think short post is suitable for me. Especially, short post with an interested topics. Long post is usually a story about something or their thinking about big problem, well I am rarely respond to a long post if there is not my friend post!

Well, that is an interesting discussion, which catches other's interest to tell their interest in reading the long posts. I think it depends on the post content and your interest in reading the content. It is a completely different issue.
I think you will not read even a single line if it doesn't catch your interest but you can read a complete article if it is of your interest. So everything depends on your interest in the content of the post. Thank you and have a nice day/night ahead.

Normally, I'll just read it no matter how long it is. Afterall, I have the time to read so why not? By reading long posts, I have the complete idea of what the discussion starter is saying and will be able to give a more complimentary and detailed response.

I don't mind reading long posts as long as they are interesting. Since I also sometimes make long posts here I also tend to read the long post on the other members here. As long as the content in the post is not repetitive and boring I will read and respond to those posts.

I too have the same opinion. Most of the long posts are usually devoid of any sum and substance.

Most of the long posts are boring and sometimes it turns me off. The moment i see a very long discussion, i don't bother to read it at all no matter how catchy the title is. But there are times when the discussion is very interesting despite the length, so I take time to read it and make a comment.
