I was reading some article about Never Back Down featuring Sean Faris. I want to learn mixed karate and gain weight as well. I am really thin if you could only imagine having a height of 5'9"
So I was wondering about the statement stated on facebook saying : We trained about 6 hours a day, 6 days a week. I gained 15lbs lean muscle and ate, like a Duffel Bag of food a day to gain weight.
Is there someone who could tell me a Duffel Bag is?

dawnald in comment 6 commented really well, with regards to what a Duffle bag is. To make sense of what the article was relating to, it was specifically using a metaphor for a the description of a Duffel Bag.
As a duffel bag unlike a suitcase can be stretched quite a bit to fit more than a suitcase can.

I am sure someone here will pop up with the historical defined meaning. But as far as I know it is a rather large portable bag that the military allow there people to bring with them, that includes a preset list of personal items, clothing, and other gear necessary for their life style.

Duffel bags are horizontally long bags that have generally hand straps to carry it. You can sometimes find them with shoulder straps or convert them yourself.

Cool! Thats what I want to use it for also. Yeah duffel does kinda sound like a food. If you want to get some meat on your bones workout and then eat meat like chicken, steak, turkey:) It will give your muscles protein to build bulk. Protein shakes are good also.

It is a bag usually made of canvas that opens on the top, It sometimes has straps to reinforce and when you can stand it up or lean it against something, the sides are shorter then the top. It has a lot of expansion room. There are also some that the opening is on the shorter side and they are closed by drawstrings, but they are usually to store sleeping bags in.

Kind of like a soft suitcase. It's a large canvas bag that soldiers, among other people, use to put their clothing and other belongings in while traveling. My parents used to use duffel bags instead of suitcases when we went camping.

Thanks I thought so, I reported also then sent you message as I though if a Veteran Queen did as well this could be taken care of... LaKota returned the response with a very classy response. This new member is a classic example of total abuse.

Isn't the English language funny? We have so many metaphors that I think at times it's enough to confuse those born into the language. I see others have already shown you what a duffel bag is, and I agree that I doubt they ate that much. It just means they ate a lot.
Typically a male bodybuilder, someone who is seriously using weights, will eat about 3000 calories per day. You want to take in your lean muscle mass in protein. http://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/lean-body-mass Here is a website that will help you figure out what your approximate lean muscle mass is.
Good luck!
