Hi sweetie.
There are so many kinds of religion and so much people twisting it this way and that way, i find it a burden to learn from it.
As long as i believe and know what i believe in, i am happy.
To learn will only give you a headache or something.
TATA.

No I do not know a lot of things about my religion but I learn through Mylot as well and from my religious classes (when i attended them).
How do you feel when you learn more of your religion? I do question and right now I have to resort to online resources. Take care.

Very nice, if you study your religion. So, you can live your life according to religious teachings. I am also very necessary, learn my religion. So I, can be more obedient to the religion, and kept away from acts that are prohibited by religion.

Hi indahfth, I think as long as you dont harm another person, hurt another person, steal from another person, etc.,, related to another person that causes trouble to another person, you are the most religious person as far as I am concerned. That is my rule in life sweetie.
As to religion - as Saphy mentioned interpretations vary, and we are made to read them. With some, we can relate, with others we cant and we need to think deeply, for which, I do not have time as of now. When my eyes dont function, and my fingers would no longer be able to operate keyboard, and my ears wouldnt be able to hear, then I would have nothing to do... that is when I will sit and analyze what my religion wanted me to say or do...

Yes, I have been, I automatically learn things in somewhat similar ways as well.
Let me presume that you are a Muslim
Do you know Quran always instist to read, study, think etc ?
Do you know Prophet Mohammed (S.A) Said: "Talabu-l-Ilmi Fareedhathun ela kulli Muslim" .i.e. Acquiring knowledge is an obligation on every Muslim.
So one can't Escape by saying "I don't know". In this modern world there are lots and lots of opportunities and facilities to learn.
Now we can learn Quran, with meanings and explanation from Internet/mobile phone/applications. Also many hadith books and articles.
There are some free TV channels like Peace TV/Islam Channel/Huda TV etc ...
Most of such TV channels are available via internet as well.
What most Muslims do? Just watch TV to see some entertainment shows, serials and waste time and Just read Quran in Arabic text without even knowing meaning of a word! Then how gonna Muslims learn something? Muslims has to understand Quran as a first priority.
Peace.

For me believing to the one on heaven is not enough you should also some work and one of it is to know about your religion. It will help you live according to the one you believe. Some ideas and opinions that you can read online are misleading and it will add your confusion. I am not dependent with online information because some of them are not true.

I learned all there is to know about my religion when I was a child and when I became an adult I decided it wasn’t quite the spiritual direction I wanted to take. I do have my beliefs but I am not one to follow a specific religion because all of them have a lot to offer and the message is very similar right through most of them. It is about living a loving existence and lending a hand to others whenever it is needed.

Hi Indah!.
I think many of us has the similar problem because we depend on others teaching not our own explore own our holy book.
On of my friend ever tell me you will not know nothing about your religion unless you reads it from beginning to end for third time. I always had project bible in one year its mean I had to finish reads it in one year. What I learn from reading it myself give more understanding about many thing than what the Rembrandt teach me.
I think its will good idea if you start exploring yours and I think its will be good diversion from your problem and give you extra strength to carry on.

I can truthfully say I do not know everything single thing about my own religion. But I can certainly say I So Love My God. It is my thinking that God knows my daily efforts to be the person he intended me to be.
So in all honesty outside of loving God I don not feel I need to know absolutely everything.

Dear Indahfth:
My friend ,I think I am trying to know everything about my religion - the Bahai faith .I think I am such a strong believer of my faith but I don't think someone can know everything about his\her religion completely because more your've learned ,more seems have been left to learn. It is just like an inquisitive student whose questions are always more than answers he\her has obatined .
But I am confident to tell you and the GOD that I've understand its core principle that all the religion share the same purpose of improving people spiritually and motivating all humanity to build a better world . No matter who is your GOD ,Jessus ,Muhammad,or my Baha'u'llah . It is actually the same .What we need to do is just trust the GOD ,read and practice his words.Peace and harmony will come one day !
Hope my words can explain some part of your concern ,please contact me IF you need further discussion with me .Thanks for your topic.

Human study of religion the goal is to know his Lord, people seek God, find out what god and his existence - where everything is still a mystery to humans. No one religion that can explain what God is, who and where, in a detailed and reasonable. Everything is still in the form of imagination and interpretation. That is why religion has become a science that is interesting enough to be studied. That's the literal nature of human beings with all the instincts.
