Reputation stars

I noticed there are lots of colors of the reputation star. I still don't have one,I learned I can gain it with 100 posts. I'm just wondering why there are different colors like yellow,red,white and purple. Does anyone here knows what the colors represent?

The colours are more or less random. I presume that they are coloured so that they are easy to distinguish. The highest is 10 (blue) and they go down to 1 (or even 0 - no star at all). They represent your reputation as decided by other users on a scale of 1 to 100 (hover the cursor over any star and you will see a tool-tip with the actual rating). I am happy that i now have a blue star with a number 10 in it.I think that when i first come on here i never had a clue about how some people had stars and some people had no stars.I got the idea from what others were saying about the ratings things that were going on.Also i learnt from a friend that was on here that there are lots of things that you can do to boost your star and rating up, also how to get to see lots of discussions that were being started that she could see yet i could not, so i added more topics and that really did help.

Wow joystick,you must have a very good reputation since you already have the blue star with the number 10,I believed that's the highest among all stars. See you around!

If you hover your cursor over the star you will see number xx/100. The colours are allotted to each percentage and depending on how many plus ratings your activity receives, the colour of your star will be decided. 95.51/100 = blue 85.51/100 = red 75.51/100 = yellow and so on.......

Yea.. I was wondering the same thing.. I have a star of 6. What is the real meaning of this? Is it that i should work harder to increase my reputation? and how can i increase it?
