We Have New Neighbours

At least we THINK we have new neighbours. Unfortunately, it's not the side we wanted i.e. the noisy people playing Eminem very loudly at times..no, it seems the nice neighbour with the ADHD kid has left..and taken the lovely cats with them. We've not actually seen anyone physically move in BUT the lights are on and there's definitely actitivy in there. We know the previous neighbours have moved out because the fake flowers have disappeared from the front window, the toys have gone from the lad's window upstairs (I could see Woody from the yard but he's now gone) and John said he could "see" into the house when the front door was open and the cooker and every other electrical appliance had disappeared!! I did see a car pull up a few days ago and I presumed they were a family, a woman, man and their two kids. They had stuff in their arms but I couldn't tell which house they were going to..then they all got in the car and drove off. I reckon it's them that's moved in. Oh, well, let's hope this new lot are as OK as the last. I think the tenants in the property must get so many months, then they move out. No neighbour has stayed there longer than, say, 18 months as it is a Housing Association house and it's the only one (as far as I know) down this street. Obviously some experiment by Impact Housing..only one of the neighbours I knew of was any good, and she's gone now. Have you had any new neighbours move in recently? Are they OK?

I sure hope the new neighbors will be nice ones. We had very annoying neighbors live next door but fortunately they are now gone. The house is for sale. The house across the street is also for sale, so we're keeping our fingers crossed!! Our town is changing a lot lately. New houses sprouting up all over the place, new businesses also. Im just about ready to move farther away in the country.

So you're definitely going to move then? I wish I could move to a bigger house with a garden..still within this city if possible, but we can't afford it so that's that lol.

Maybe it's you swearing at your football team on TV that sends these people packing on a regular basis from the house next door? I think I have mentioned our neighbours here a few times. Basically, the quiet old guy across the road and the nice peaceful family next door to us moved out in the space of a few weeks for each other last year and we got ratbags in across the road who have been a nightmare! The first people that moved in next door were not too bad, but they got sick of the kids across the street really quick and moved out after six months. The people in there now are not too bad, but they do a lot of swearing loudly. The parents are always yelling with extreme language at their little son. I hope that you get some nice people in there this time.

I do not get offended by swearing unless it is abusive and aimed at children. Wow, I want one of those bricks! That would be hilarious to see someone's reaction as you threw it at their shiny new car!

Yes, our noisy neighbours have been known to swear at their young children, and they have a baby too. Not nice is it? Not setting a very good example. In fact, the mother is worse than the father, she spews filth out like a sewer, even worse than me at the match the other day! I want one of those rubber bricks from I Want One Of Those...well, I would if I could find them! Or maybe even 3 or 4. I once chucked my specs case over to the settee (good job John wasn't sitting there) because Man City had scored an off-side goal against Blackpool. I was most upset, as you can imagine. Only beat us 3-2 though but really it should've been 2-2 as that GOAL shouldn't have stood. Grrrr!! http://www.play.com/Gadgets/Gadgets/4-/560573/-/Product.html

You are very lucky to have such lovely neighbours. It makes all the difference doesn't it? I'm very pleased for you.

Yes! The crazy lady's house sold back in May and last month the new guy moved in! He's a snow-bird from Indiana, his name is Jeff and he seems like a nice fellow! Sure will be a nice change from a screaming banshee across the street!

That's a nice description of him "Snow bird of Indiana." Do I detect a slight crush on him by any chance?

Nope, we don't have new neighbors at this time. Well we love our neighborhood although there are times they are having loud music at home, still we enjoy it. Filipinos love videoke and many days our neighborhood having fun singing all they long and that's fine with us. As long as they are having fun and they are not really doing bad to us.

Nope...I suppose I am the "newest" neighbor..lol...and that has been four years ago. There is always the fear of the unknown with the new neighbor but if everything is quiet so far..so good..lol..

The only change here is the girlfriend of the guy next door came in with a huge moving van and spent all weekend loading it about a week ago. I never see them anyway, but hubby visits with the guy. He is nice, but does not seem to keep lady friends very long. Periodically he completely swears off of women and just works in his garage and on his yard. I wish your annoying neighbors would leave, just for your own sake.

Since the winter started they've not been as bad (as the music always sounded worse with all their windows open) but they do have their moments, still. They've bought a portable keyboard by the sounds of it but none of them are ever going to sound like Jon Lord of Deep Purple and Whitesnake fame, more's the pity!!

Hi Janey, I know how you must be feeling. When we lived in the city, living we were constantly worried about who was going to be moving in next door to us, because we had thin walls. The last neighbours were students who did a lot more partying than studying usually all-night until dawn. In the end I had to go to the council to get it stopped, but that took several months before they eventually got the message and the council threatened with prosecution. We had decided to move out long before that, but the credit crunch came along out house sale feel through, so we had to put up with another year of it before it sold the second time. It was like winning the lottery. We are now in a village way out in the sticks, and it is silent at night... I hope that your new neighbours are good.. _Derek

So far they've been great..very quiet! I feel for you having neighbours like that and I'm glad you are living somewhere peaceful nowadays. In fact, there's a house over the road and it is used as student accommodation. When I was at Mum's the last time John told me there was one night where he didn't get any sleep. You guessed it they were partying and he said the music was so loud the whole street was shaking. Neighbours next door to them barged into the house before the police arrived..only for the music to stop. Mind you, John says the police were chasing them down the street and they've been as quiet as mice since that incident. Trust me to miss all the excitement!!

Nope, mine's a housing estate, as in, blocks of houses with many floors in them. Well, at my end, there are six apartments on each floor. It's only the neighbor opposite my apartment who's friendly and quite good to us. The others, I can say, are all snobs and unfriendly. There's the lady, who thinks that after striking lottery, can act arrogant and talk loudly, but she does not even realize one bit that she's only staying at an apartment. The one beside me, all he does is, bang the door loudly when he comes back or goes out. He bangs it as if it's so fun, he thinks that it's cool. I think this will last for a long long time.

Banging doors, I hate that so I do sympathise. The noisy neighbour bangs the doors if he's upset in some way. Such a wuss lol. How much did that lady win on the lottery then? Couldn't have been much if she's still living in an apartment, like you say. At least you have one nice neighbour though, hopefully, that will make up for the unfriendly ones.

It does not have to be renters that get under your skin. I remember when we bought our first house. It was in a culdesac. If you move into a cul de sac you should be sure that you like everyone since you are all on top of each other in the circle. Well, in the beginning it was ok but then after about a year my husband (now my ex) started fueding with our next door neighbor about noise. Then they started measuring where they were parking. It was awful. The wives still waved a each other. Two years ago we had to move into a temporary apartment while waiting for our house to be built. we ended up with a family upstairs that were very noisy. I think their child jumped everywhere it went. That was annoying but the worst was when their tub overflowed and flooded my bathroom and part of the master bedroom. I went upstairs twice since once did not make a difference to get them to stop using water in that bathroom. We were so happy to move out.

I bet you were! I'm lucky in the fact I can escape to my Mum's many miles away, a few times a year. That always works as there is more space in the house and I can chill out. Summer is always worse than winter round here because windows are open and the houses are terraced, so there's no escape. We would love to move (ideally with a large garden) but can't afford to, so that's that.

We haven't had any neighbors move in recently, instead we have had some neighbors move out. They had their house foreclosed and now it is standing empty. I'd like to hope that we would get some new neighbors over there sooner rather than later, but for right now it is just very quiet on the street because we are the last house that is occupied on a court. Now there are some people up the street that moved in several months ago and the problem that I have with them is that their children are a little bit obnoxious.

Oh dear, I'm not keen on obnoxious children either. Having said that though, the kids round here are OK, it's the parents that behave worse than they do at times. I hope the house gets moved into soon.

A good neighbour has moved in for 3 months replacing our last so bad neighbour, all my family cheers about that, this neighbour is my friendly uncle's family, haha! The last neighbour is unfriendly and always palters everything between them and us,such as our trees' shadow making their plants grow slowly, our chickens bitting their vegetables and so on,but ignoring what they have done, they are so boring! It is so lucky they moved out,now we have harmony relationship with our new nerghbour,we always send gifts to each other and gather together to have meals, seeming like a whole happy family,I think it must be the god blessing us!Best wishes!!

Aww that's so sweet, sending gifts to one another and gathering for meals. Unfortunately, it's a rare occurence in this country as everyone keeps themselves to themselves. It didn't used to be like that, people could leave their front doors open or not even lock them at all, without any problems. That has all changed and it's all very sad..but I'm so glad you live like you do. Please keep doing so as it's wonderful.

Nope, we don't have any new neighbors. Unless you count the two new houses that went up about two miles north. But I don't know who they are... I like the neighbors I have. I get along with everybody, even the one others don't get along with. I plan to go to lunch with that neighbor on Friday and then I plan to go to a neighborhood party on Saturday night (the lady no one likes but me and a couple of other people won't be there). We have a party every month. We call it our full moon parties. We have them on the nearest Saturday to a full moon.

Really? People used to do that in the cemetery next to Mum's road but the wailing got a bit much lol. In actual fact, there was a big problem with vandalism in there but a group has been formed to look after the cemetery as the Council can't be bothered. All they do is mow the grass. Hope your parties go well.
