In the winter time, what do you like to prepare for dinner? I am trying to think of warm, satisfying foods that I can cook that don't take too long but are also healthy. Do you have any ideas? What are some healthy dishes that don't take too long to make?

Well on winter days I like to make a stew with meat, potatoes, carrotts, celery, you know what I am talking about? And then make some cornbread with my own chopped onions, jalapenos, and a can of corn mixed in it does take a little time but really good on a cold winter day, also I love potato soup just cut some potatoes, and boil, when done drain water, add milk and butter, salt and pepper that one doesn't take long at all and is also good on a cold winters day. Hope you liked this, Have a good day!

I am a fan of vegetable soup so easy healthy and warm. You grab any veggies you have in your fridge ( pumkin, butternut squash, carrots, leek, potatoes, sweet potato, mushroom...) You put a little bit of oil in a pan, add onion (if you like),and the veggies, let it cook 10 min, add boiling water (just enough to cover the veggies), let it cook another 10 min until everything it cooked and soft. Then use a hand blender or food processor to blent it all, add some boiling water to the right consistency, add salt pepper and any herb or spices to your taste, let it simmer 5 min. It is easy and delicious.

Stews and casseroles are some of the things for me as comfort foods go. I also like legumes )lentils, garbanzo beans with pork are my favorites).

Chili is definitely a food that we eat a lot of during the winter because of the fact that it is a comfort food. In addition to it being a comfort food, the other thing that I like about it is that it doesn't take a long time to make. Some other things that we eat on a regular basis through the winter are soup beans, beef stew, vegetable soup, chicken pot pie. The thing that I love about all of these options are that you are able to make them as simple or as complicated as you want them to be.

maybe you could make a meal made of bread with the contents in the vegetables and add mayonnaise and served with a drink in the warm milk.

Chili is the best healthy comfort food that I know of. I also like mashed potatoes, but with all that butter and milk, they are not as healthy. And then of course, we could always make a macaroni and cheese casserole. I think most casseroles are comfort foods, but the majority of them are not so healthy for the waistline.
