What are your opinions on buffet restaurants? Are they a good value? Are they clean? How is the food?

i like some buffets, most of them are a good value because your almost guranteed to get something you like, most places are clean but some of the food is nasty.

Buffets can be a good value for those with a good appetite. If you like variety and it is an upscale buffet - prime rib, crab legs, etc., even if you are a light eater, you may still find the value in it. Just remember there are no doggie bags at the buffet. Eat all you want, but don't hurt yourself. You can come back another day and the same menu will be there.
Are they clean? You decide. Pick your place. Check it out. Look at how the food is presented. Is someone constantly watching to clean up spills and keep the serving utensils clean? Are the plates removed from the table as soon as patrons finish? Is someone picking up debris off the floor? Use your eyes. Some cities have a grade system A, B, C, D by their local Health Department. This letter is posted at the front of the restaurant. If it is not an A, run, don't walk away. They have problems.
How is the food? How many cars are in the parking lot? Have they gotten reviews in the newspaper? If all other things are equal, what have you got to lose? Try it. Let your other senses guide you. If it looks appealing and it smells good and others are saying its OK, then go for it.

I think they are a good value. Everyone gets to eat whatever they want. No complaining at the table. It is a good deal too, cheaper to eat there any most other sit down resturaunts. My fiance and I eat at a local Chinese buffet for lunch the bill with tip is $18.00 and we don't eat dinner.

i like buffets cause you can take a little bit of a lot of different things. instead of ordering off the menu and only getting one or two different things

buffet restaurants are very very profitable to start .. its a win win situation .. the restuarant earns twice of what it spends .. the customer gets to eat everything that we wud like to eat .. and goes back satisfied

Beffet Restaurants, is always good vallue for money, the only problem I'f got is that you do not always know how fresh the food is prepared, If you like going to these tipe of restaurants I suggest that you go on buzzy nights that way you know the food is fresh and not from the day before.

I think it depend on which restaurant you do. I go to the same one in my town. They got Chinese, Korean and Japanese. For the pricewise, I think they are reasonable. Foods are good too.

I think buffets are great to get a good variety of foods...Buffets these days, such as ones in various Las Vegas hotels offer foods of many cultures...this makes it easier on families that can't decide where/what to eat...you dont have to go to a specific restaurant like chinese, mexican, american etc...its all there.!.
i think the negative is trying to get your money's worth and over eat to make up the $15.99 price...
