I do not wait for the battery to drain completely before charging otherwise you might lose some settings, I usually charge when there is only one bar left. I don't know if charging before battery is drained is really the cause of bloating, maybe it's caused more by overcharging if the charger is defective

Hi louieville. You are right bloating of the battery is caused by using incorrect battery chargers. Nokia phones have different kinds of chargers. they have this "travel chargers' which has a higher ampere output around 800 milliamperes, which is intended for quick, emergency charging only.. and there is a type of charger for normal use. it has an ampere rating of 350 milliamperes. So if you use the high ampere charger as your normal charger.. it will surely bloat your battery. so its a good idea to check the label. Normal charger for everyday use should have a rating of 350 milliamperes.

It is always better to recharge your phone when your battery is showing of low battery sign. If you are unable to charge your battery, switch off your device and do not use it. It is safe to turn off and charge your battery.
Battery bloating could be excessive usage of battery. If it is mobile phone I have heard that no signal areas cause 30-40% of excessive usage of battery. This could be one of the reasons.
Anyway be sure to check your batteries charge before using.

I am not sure if not draining the batteries of mobile phones can cause it to bloat. I charge my phone when it already gives a caution that battery is low. Sometimes i don't wait for it to say that. I charge it when the battery is less than 5% already. Good thing my phone shows how many percent is left in the battery so i would know when i will be charging it.

I normally do not let my batter drain completely as I like to charge it right away I noticed one bar is left. This way when I need it, it is always fully charged and not die out during my next call.

This depends on the construction of the battery you are using. When you buy the older, heavier type of battery brand new, it is best to discharge it fully each time before you recharge. If you do not do this to all Nickel Metal Hydride batteries, they will suffer from what is called "memory effect". This is where the battery "remembers" the voltage to which it discharged before recharging it, so you end up having a progressively smaller battery capacity each time you recharge the battery. This dramatically shortens battery life & means you will have to spend more money on buying new batteries before you otherwise need to.
The newer, lighter lithium batteries do not need this special treatment & it is actually better for them if you recharge them fully from the time you buy it new & keep it topped up as often as you can.
Mobile phone batteries can become bloated for many reasons, including using an incorrect charger, having a fluctuating input voltage to the charger or simply poor, cheap construction methods, materials or impurities. There are also many other reasons why the battery becomes bloated. I believe it is a very wasteful, inefficient, dangerous & environmentally toxic way of going about doing things. A good system will allow the battery to be recharged with radiant energy which will ensure your battery is charged much faster, cheaper & in such a way that it retains its original internal structure forever.

Usually, it took me 2 days before I charge my battery. Cuz i have to wait til my battery reach 10%. that's the time I'll turn off my phone and charge it. I don't know why I usually do that. Maybe just to avoid damage to my phone.

Not all the time. Usually when it prompts that it's low battery, I charge it already even if it's not yet drained. My cellphone's having a bit of a problem with battery too. Once it's off it takes a few minutes to know that it's charging. It's not much of a problem, but it can be when you think that your charger's not working well. sometimes I end up plugging it it for hours before I find out that it isn't charging at all.

I always wait until I get the battery low warning, as it is much better for the battery as it can extend the battery life by doing it that way. I don't always shut it off though as I like to browse with it while I am charging it. My battery is really a good battery though, as I haven't charged it since last Sunday. I am very pleased with that. Now I do shut it off at night, but I also have it on all day, so ti does some of the battery, however, not all that much. I think I have read somewhere that it is better for the battery to drain it completely. It seems that my battery is lasting much longer when I do that, and it is going longer before I have to charge it again. It is always nice not to have to charge the battery off day after day. Take care, and have a very good day.
