Dear all,
I don’t know anyone met such an incident. It has been observed that some places fake currencies are circulating. Sometimes unknowingly it may reach in our hands. Most of the time we cannot make out whether it is original or not. If you are happened to get such a fake currency, what will you do with them. Have you ever got it before any time? Please share.
Thank-s

Hi thanks, how are you? Yes we are hearing this kind of things from our known people and also in the TV news channels too. But they are displaying the numbers sometimes if they know, otherwise we have to see some proof existing in the currency, but most of the village people doesn't about this how to know whether it is fake or real currency. There is a news about this, currency is coming from other countries, how and why no body knows. If we see fake one, we just return to that person whom we got or else we just keep like a toy, what else we can do with that.
Have a wonderful day.

Hi Jo,
Yes, it is surprising situation once we identified the fact. Once we identified that it is not a genuine one, as you said, it is better to destroy them. If we approach some police or report the same with legal people, we may face problems if there is a detailed enquiry. In order to avoid such things, people may not willing to report the same to the authorities.
I have send a PM to you 2 days back and you didn’t reverted to it. I am not joking, if you are really interested in CA lines, we have openings in our place and you can try the best suited place which is nearby to you.
Thank-s

I hear about fake money circulating on the news from time to time, but I haven;t got any as far as I know. I remember a couple of years ago, a lady asked the cashier at a small deli me and my b/f were eating at if they had change for a hundred. I was Christmas shopping and I had it. The cashier turned the lady away and I called her over and told her I had change if she needed it. I give it to her and my b/f said...Jenny you better check that money. It had never even crossed my mind that it might be fake. I checked it and it was fine, but I will think about it in the future. It's not worth anything and there is nothing the police can do about it here if they don't know where it come from. I would have just been out a hundred dollars.

Hi dear,
Thanks for the comments. Yes, now-a-days, it has been observed that there are a lots of face currencies in the market on circulation. We cannot even make out which is the correct note and the fake ones. There are a lot of people involved in it and the people who make the circulation knows how to manage all these things. Only what we can do is that make sure when we are dealing with new and fresh notes. Also, make a note of the fake series of notes which the authorities may already relased. If possible while accepting the higher denominations, we need to convince the paper notes are genuine and if found suspicious, deny to accept and ask for tender for the same. In such way, we can reduce the risk of getting the fake notes in our hands.

HI
Once life8118 posted a discussion listing out ways as to how one can identify a fake currency note.
As for myself, last year when I went down south to make some wedding purchases I withdrew money from IOB and when I gave a bundle in a textile shop , it was found that one of them , a five hundred rupee note was a fake one. THere was no way of taking it up with the bank too because it was on the second day I withdrew and nothing could be done. I normally pay only with my credit card especially when I travel or make purchases in some other distant place other than my own. Here I came to know that cash payment instead of credit card payment entitled me to a small discount and since it was a massive set of wedding purchases I thought of availing it. So much for the dis count!!!!!

Hi dear,
Thanks for your comments. Practically it is difficult for us to identify such notes from a bundle. But if we examine each and every note individually some time we can trace them but practically it is impossible. If we have some doubts on certain notes, we can separately examine those one and otherwise not.
Even though we accept the notes from a bank or ATM, if we return after some times or the next day, they will deny it saying no proof that they are issued it. One of my friend faced such an incident and the banker didn't accept and they said that the note shown was not given from that bank and the person was lying. Finally, he tear the note from the bank itself and throw the paper over there and cancelled the bank account with them later on.

I have never gotten truly fake currency before and I worked at McDonalds for a year. However, I did get change back from a store once and when I got home I realized that the pennies weren't actually pennies they were coins for a local theater's play area. Since they were only 'pennies' I didn't get all upset about it because I pick up every penny I see on the ground anyhow so I'm pretty sure that makes up for it.

Hi dear,
Yes, possibility is there. But minting of pennies are costlier if compared to currencies, espcially higher denominations. However, what we can do is that whever we deal with more cash, especially which specifically belongs to our personal, we need to confrim all these are real ones.
Thanks for your comments.

At my part - time job, a lady actually paid with a fake currency, and the cashier didn't catch her at the time. After the cash was forked over, they realized it was a fake currency. A lesson learn, and they taped the bill in front of the cashier register. So, we can't know whether or not the bill is real with our naked eyes. We just need some sort of device to help us out to distinguish it.

Hi dear,
Thanks for your comments.
You are right. In the first instance we cannot make out the note are genuine or not. In such case, if we transact the cash, ordinary people are helpless and if they got traced the person holding the fame money would be in a loss. Because once the note is identified as fake, he has to face the loss and the consequences if any. A proper investigation to be done to trace the notes.

Hi dear,
Your tips are acceptable. If we have doubts on the notes, always check it throughly and if found doubtful, do not accept the notes.
Thanks for your comments.

Yea there have been cases like this in my country recently. Those cheaters print the money in large numbers and circulate among their gang and they use it for eating and other purposes. Luckily, the media has explained to us about the difference between the real and the fake so that we can spot it. Hmm...this has not happened to me before and if it does, I will report to the police. At most, all I got was just a torn note. Have a nice day!

Hi dear,
Some people who are involved in such illegal minting of such currencies will keep doing and finally they will get caught by the crop. Similar incident happened few years in our place also. The gang was printing such notes for a period of time. Once they though of stopping all, after they become rich. But for greediness, they expend the business and they caught by the police red handed and all of them send to jail (as per a news paper report).

If I ever got fake currency, I wouldn't know if it was fake or not. I would spend it like normal currency, because...I just wouldn't know. I know they have pens that you can use to tell whether the currency is fake or not. As far as I know, I have never held fake currency.

Hi dear,
Thanks for your comments.
As you said, there is no other option, we have to spend it, assuming that we are not aware of anything about the note. Mostly this is what really happens. In normal way, people cannot make out and the same currency may go for several rounds of transactions and if it become dirty, then nobody will care of it. Even I have a pen, which denotes if a note is fake or not. But it is practically not possible, but if we have some doubt on the notes, it is always advantages by checking through the pen. If identified, then what to do? Simply spend it??

Hiya thanks,
Here we have had some spectacular Fraud Money goings on like that. The Notes were so good that they even got through those Machines that they use to test them to see if they are good or not.
Actually had to say it was so hard to tell one Note from another and get this it was done by a bunch of teenagers well one Job was anyway the others I don´t know who made the Notes because they were not saying on the News.
But the first ones considering they were only 17 and 18 years old did a very good Job.
We could have no way of knowing that the Notes were false if they had kept that up they would have made a fortune.
I don´t condone what they do though. I think it´s terrible that you can go to a Shop and they tell you in front of everyone that the Note is false even though you have just got it from the Bank.
Reckon it´s the Bank that should be much more careful so as we don´t get the blame for their not checking and doing things properly.
Also it´s not very funny to find yourself with a Wagepacket full of false Notes but you don´t know about it. The Penalties for this should be very great in years of imprisonment.

Hi Thanks,
This is a very ugly thing to happen to anyone. We had an experience with those fake currency notes twice. Once it was the bank - they issued my dad some money that contained a couple of the fake 500.00 INR notes and the worst part was that the other bank where he was to deposit the amount traced out they were fake. We were shocked asto how could a bank hand us over the fake notes. That was the first instance and we filed a law suite which as other cases keeps going on and on.
The other instance was at a friends sisters marriage in our village. The gifts were okay but there was some cash too. And the groom's family found the whole bunch to be fakes. There was no way anyone was going to listen and the entire thing turned into a mishap. You know how things are in villages and the poor girl had to stay unmarried. We found the one who had issued the notes and the villagers bashed him up and handed him to the cops. And for the notes, we burnt them and heated some tea on it bonfire.
A pity that many people suffer from this and some people take fun doing these activities.
Cheers,
theSids.

Hi dear,
Yes, the main issues we cannot make out so easily in the normal way. Sometimes when we giving the case at some cash counter only understand that the notes were fake. As technology is so advanced, it is so difficult for an ordinary person to which is the genuine notes.
Your incidents were so sad and I am sure that someone or the other would be the victim of such illegal dealings. A similar incident happened to a school teacher, he withdrawn the money from one ATM and went to deposit in an another bank. He caught there saying that the teacher tried to fool up the bank. Even though he produced the receipt of ATM slip and other notes, either bank were not ready to accept the fact and he had to face a lot of consequences plus the loss of money.
The only solution to way out is just careful of notes and if have some kind of doubt, do not accept the same and ask for a different note. Practically it is not possible while we are dealing higher amounts. Still, an observation while dealing with notes is always suggested.

Hi there.
Yes I do encounter before. I work in a hotel and there was once a guest came to change money with my friend. Little did she knew the money was fake and she ended up going to police station to make a report. There is definitely such thing happening in the world. Just be careful every time you handle money!

Hi dear,
I think we need to be bothered whenever we deal with lot of hard cash dealings. Especially in hotels and money tables, we may not bother who are brining money and when the counter is busy there are chances to get fooled up. Thank you for your comments.

Hi thanks,
Maybe I am not aware but I haven't encountered fake money yet, and I hope not. It is not easy to spot fake ones, I feel cheated for it. It would be prudent to check the currency before taking it. However, money from banks and reputable institutions are always the real ones.
I understand fake moneys circulates only in rural areas and busy public places such as transports and public markets. I would be more careful to handle money from there.
If I do get one, It would be a good exhibition piece or a reminder for my stupidity. Who knows, somebody may have a passion for collecting fake currencies and may offer something for it.

Hi dear,
Yes, there are fake currencies. Most of the days we can see some report in the news paper or TVs regarding the fake note matters. So many places it has been recovered. The people who makes it with various methods. Few years before, some cases were seized by the police and they were made it with just a colour printer and with the help of a computer. But those were jailed and it is wide spread in many places.
As you said, we should alert on currencies that we accept with higher denominations. Surprise to say, people used to get such currencies from ATM machines also. However, the authorities would trace such incidents and they use to make maximum effort to eliminated such illegal tendency. Always we should be careful on an individual basis to monitor such notes are not reaching to us.

Dear friend,
In our place it may become a mess if any common person shows the fake note to police. May be the the well wisher may turn to be culprit. If I get a fake note I may clear it with those I trust well. May be I may approach someone in press whom I feel reliable, still I may keep quite if I feel it is insecure unless I feel some trustworthy to get this matter out. May be if those concerned itself is corrupted I may just keep that with me somewhere I feel not to be found by others.

Wow ,.. thanks for the alert. Seems like fake currencies circulation has been going around again .. I think one good tip is to hover the note under the light and see whether there's any difference. Normally going to a bank to check can be a good thing. And if found to be fake , to report to the police. Don't let fake currencies spread around. Thank you for this , thanks1961.

I am often carefulabout this, however,it is inevitable that I may get such a fake currency, actually,I will probably take it out if I don't know or if I know this is a fake currency,I feel shame about this,if I don't do so,I don't know how to do.
