Some Mylot users are Still Arrogant and Defiant

We are watching... - And reporting if you make a mistake...

Hello Lotters, This is the third time i have reported a discussion from a few users who have actually been here for almost 3 to 4 years, still the same thing, I don't know they think people are gonna fall for it. It's disappointing for some one like me who tried so hard not to get into trouble. I am not Generalizing ever one ( I did say a few ), but some times being here for almost four years doesn't make one a veteran nor a role model Mylotter if they still kept on putting things that violate rules in the discussion. I was reported for a "foul words" violation on my discussion which deleted my first account, not happening again. We are not trying to be "ALL Knowing here" It's just that Rules are Rules. Gets? As for Ill-gotten Veterans (been here a long time, but still violates rudely), There's no excuse, The rest of us will not hesitate...To report..am sure you know that already.

Sadly there are older Lotters who seem to think that they can get away with things just because they have been here longer. That is not the case and when they get caught then the rules are the same for them/us as they are for everyone else. Patience Letran or your wrinkles will start showing long before time!

Hello Aunt D. Happy Holidays! Well, Not in you're circle of friends though. but those people still has a role to play here because they've been here a long time. of course, If indeed they lost their accounts and post probably i would loose one from them too. it's just that for new comers i just ignore them but for like us, i couldn't help it.

I have a lot of friends here Letran and some of them are indeed new users who initially thought that they knew how to use myLot and did answer back at me. I never give up though and later they realised that it was best to do things as they should be done and we then became friends Would you believe that I have one who was banned many times and then eventually listened and is now doing great here? I am not going to mention any names obviously but it is good to see that it is worth trying Happy holidays to you and your mom too!

Good Evening LK25, One thing i like about this site is they are not tolerating any rude member here, like what jaiho2009 assured me before that no one will going to condemn me if im going to made some mistakes regarding my English grammar. I hope i will not experience it here coz i don't want to be disappointed :D. Rules is Rules though sometimes we need to break it hahahah!Just kidding Have a nice day!

Hello Catch, No, I had a lot of grammar mistakes here and Any Idiot would dare make fun of you're grammar (You let me know) they're asking for trouble. not only it ain't right, it's a complete violation of the guidelines. Well, some one's gonna break it and i think the ones who violate is the ones gonna get the breaking.

Hey Letranknight! Chill out, my friend! Just ignore them. Do not put any discussion or response you read to be beyond what we expect of them. I mean, we have different personalities here my friend and there may be some who are truly nice and the others are arrogant. Some may be stubborn and others are not. Every time I read a discussion with regards to rule breaking here in mylot, it likewise makes me grin and say, "whaaat?"...But after a few seconds, I am fine with it. I never put it in my mind and put myself into trouble. Although there are times that I cannot also control myself not to butt in.

Hello Maean_19, Yes I know. Although i have ignored a lot of violators lately, but i do report them first, this is really the obvious and happened twice or thrice in teh row already. well, i couldn't help it though. I didn't respond to it knowing others have reported the discussion and so did I. yeah, we have different personalities but i think he was educated enough to realize the rules, and he deliberately ignore them

Ok. I've been here quite some time myself, and yes, I've been forced to report some discussions. Discussions that were designed to inflame rather than share an opinion. But I've also discovered several things along the way: 1. not everyone is a native speaker of the English language (sadly, that also includes people who claim to be fluent!), 2. it's easier to walk away rather than shout myself hoarse, that is to neg a particularly vulgar response, and 3. they WILL get what they deserve. I let the Admin folks do their job, and I vet to have less gray hairs by not worrying about pleasing everyone OR no one! :)

I am in agreement with you--I'd rather leave the policing to the admins! That is why they are here. I think that MyLot should explain WHY a discussion is being deleted so that the author won't make the same mistake, intentional or not.

Hello Scorpio, I don't really to chase down violated discussions but you know when you see one, it's just hard to avoid. though i get to avoid it most of the time since others are reporting it. some one surely is too ignorant to repeat it again and must be taught a lesson. I am glad that the admin do their job

hi letran rules are rules not matter how long or short we have been here and lately one o lder user has popped up again with discussions that 'should be banned he insinuates that most of us do not agree with him and his words are you are a liar and a hypocrite. I blew up at one of his discussions. of course then mylot admins woke up and deleted it. he has made another bashing gays and using the same abusive terms and a gain I reported him to the admins.I cannot help wonder what enjoyment he gets out of riling people and getting his stupid arrogant discussions deleted.

Hello hatley, There was one user who got mad just because of greeting christmass but the user didn't understand that it's violation against milestone and it was really something the admin couldn't tolerate. after that she made a discussion, once responder starts coming in, she started flaming responders and which angered a lot of lotters including aunt D. am pretty much sure that discussion is deleted already.

If they keep acting rude, then how can we attract people to join and enjoy this site? I hope they (veterans) should be of help to newbies and not to drive the newbies away from this site. Hello Jaiho, Well, this user had been doing some good post but i noticed him whining about mylot not paying that much any more since the user's been bragging about earning more than ten dollars a day in here, which is highly pathetic to me. this is just a lotter who stayed for four years but not much good as a role model i think

I do not run into that too often. I did once. A seasoned user decided to copy/paste recipes, at the rate of one a minute in fact, for thirty minutes or more at a time. This was after she had done it one time, one recipe, and then a couple more, and I commented, without reporting her, that posting recipes was against the guidelines, and copy/paste of copyrighted materials was against the rules. She just said "Well, some people like my recipes." She is gone now. It is frustrating.

Hello Gardengetty, Too bad people doesn't understand the rules. Well, even though they liked them it's still against violations, probably If she was smart, then she could have made that discussions about how she feels about that cooking and put the cooking procedure in a different forum link and not mylot. I got no problem with cooks but it's just not righ tto show it in the forum.

I hope I don't get reported by you if I slip and unconsciously stepped on your toes. Just because I have been here long enough to be considered an old horse that doesn't give me a license to be arrogant and defy the rules here. I am a law abiding citizen of mylot. But probably there are times when I am provoked which makes me defensive and turned tyranny verbally. That is rare though as I don't wish to be tagged as arrogant. There is no need to be arrogant as we are here for socializing and making decent income. Using swear or foul words will only create bad bloods which defeat the whole purpose of our existence here.

You call it pride with a dash of superiority complex. It's everywhere. Not just in myLot. Have you noticed that in your workplace, the seniors tend to be the grouchiest, edgiest, meanest people? As if they never were newbies in their time? MysD was right. They shouldn't feel like they are exempted from the rules just because they've been here a long time. But really, I don't know who we're referring at!

Hello Theresaaiza, You know, sometimes I get that kind of impression on myself when ever I am not in the mood to mylot. There was this one person who only just acquired about mylot in his discussions. I went off and saying you can stay or you can leave if you want to, of course, I regret it later when I should have been more decent and discreet. Perhaps I should have avoid it. I'd rather be the inferiority complex, it hurts when you're putting down on someone and you're not aware of it. Thank you and take care.

I know what you mean, and it is one thing that has kept the site from being wholly wholesome. I notice some fights and nasty exchange of words. Oh well, I have learned to stay away from those posts. I'd rather stay where I am than tread on those forbidden areas. It is more relaxing that way, no pressures, no stress.

Hello Cutie18f, Due stay away from them often. I noticed some users do some putting the bad words thing and it was reported right there. That's why mylot exist because there isn't much of a fight and rules are followed here I believe. Yeah, don't get into the fight because it's not really worth you're time so better look for good and better discussions than the ones involving flames.

Hi dear, But I think while we are preparing the response there may be certain words come up and some times in the absence of a substitute word is not matching with the context, it will post as per our wish. A few occasions, before submitting the content, I was warned saying that the particular word cannot be used and I substituted with another one. Also, I don’t know if we do not change the same word, it will accept to submit. I never used any bad word or abusive or such words ever and it is not my way of discussion. Of course, sometimes if we are not aware of the word and if it simply goes in, I am helpless and I have nothing to do as I am not aware of such words. I always prefer to go in a ‘decent’ way of communication and if anything find on the way, I never responded to it. Also, I don't think anyone want to do it purposively to demote anyone in such a way. But on the verge of the topic and discussion trend, some words may be only with that particular context and it many not mean to hurt anyone. Thank-s

Hello Thanks1961, That's what I liked about mylot, they don't allow fulgar and foul words here unless the user is smart enough to put a mising letter on that word, which is reported (btw). The last time I used a lot of foul words in my previous account out of that anger, unfortunately, some one was smart enough to have me reported and deleted at the same time. Well, this user was arrogant and did it on purpose, it violated the rules and some how It irritated me. Thanks and have a great day.

Hi dear, At most times we don’t do purposively and we don’t try anyone hurt purposively. The subject may be of such controversial or similar to it. If we cannot agree with some points or arguments made by someone, we can openly tell and comment on it. The words used may seem like inappropriate and that may be the reason why they are deleting it. However, hereafter we can be light on the things and respect everyone’s view and ideas. If we cannot agree with it, openly tell we can’t agree with the point – the chapter is closed. Nice to speak to you and hope we will be in touch with further more. Regards, Thank-s

Hello friend, once i had discussion deleted, because i wanted fresh and new ideas where to spend my birthday celebration and i learned to study from the mistakes of the others. Now i don't check so much my letters for the discussions of my friends, but for deleted discussions and topics - that's how i understand completely how to protect myself of such things. I don't know about the veterans or so on stuff you noticed, but i am trying to respect everyone here, trying to understand everyone here and trying to be as kind as it is possible with the people, who has different opinion than mine. I've never reported no one for his mistakes, even if it is needed, because one admin can't check everything with details. I think that people, who are serious here, who take Mylot as challenge and enjoy it, they know the rules and would never break them with what they do. People, which sometimes got 0 responses on their discussions, they need to ask themselves why is that? May be because the others, who keep the rules at first place, don't want to waste their time with discussion, which will be deleted. So if a person thinks so more about here, trying to have whole opinion for the website, it needs some thinking about what and why happens. Keep smiling, i like the blue horse

Lately, i don't write to discussions, i mean ... just pay attention for my own and post around 1-5 responses a day, if the discussion is really interesting for me or just i had same experience and want to share opinion. I can't afford to stay longer or to answer too much, i had such days in the past and these days was nearly lost, i have so much to do at home, so ... time is limited here. I understood in life, that even if we are adults, we need to follow some official rules which are valid for everyone around, not only for some and not for others. This is how one place would stay calm and enjoyable without worries, but it must have serious control about that. This is what my experience from the real life showed me. Here we got a lot of crimes and problems in our country. Just law on paper is not enough, there must be control if something is getting messy, there must be someone who will clean after that. It's the same here, we need to follow not only our own wishes, but the rules, which are sure way for confidence and respect for the others around. Without respect, we are going anywhere

I would say that people should fully read the guidelines that are set. I must admit i have glanced through them but that was when i first joined. I try not to break any rules and i don't think i have in the time i have been here. I don't know how people that have been here for so many years can still carry on violating the rules that they know. Surely they should know better and to be honest they should lead by example for the new people like me that sign up to this site. We then wonder what we can and can't write. Maybe even the people that have been here years need to re read the guidelines again.

Well, I did start earning in somewhere else before but I never brag about it nor told any one about it except when they shut my country off of it's site coverage. It's not about not being able to free to express but it's about the impact of the discussion that counts, some people just don't care.

Oh I agree with you Letran. I just left a very rude discussion from a vetran Mylotter. I had to walk away from it, I was so angry. I had a long day at work and maybe some of it is me just being tired but I don't see the need in rudeness and name-calling...personal attacks and accusations. I've always had respect for the person so I just walked away and I'll avoid his discussions...it's easy enough.

Rude mylotters really bother me. Yesterday I saw a discussion that someone had written about how gays shouldnt be allowed in the military. Anyone who didnt agree with what he said he would call them names. I was disgusted. I think his discussion will be deleted I mean name calling is against the rules so I expect if it hasent already been deleted it will be. I created my own discussion about the subject. I will not get mad if someone feels different then I do and I hope no one comes along and starts flaming and gets my discussion deleted. Its to bad when somoene comes along and does that and then the whole discussion gets deleted instead of just the offensive comments.

Hi Shaggin, I saw that discussion too and couldn't agree with you more. You can have a differing point of view without lowering yourself to name calling and questioning the person's intelligence and integrity....well, you should be able to but apparently there are some here that can't seem to do that. It's too bad because it takes deters from the point of having a good debate which is to get the other person to stop and think. The rudeness just makes one want to stop discussion altogether.

Hello Sid556, Political and sensitive discussions are to be left with people who doesn't care about the star or earnings. It's really hard to believe though but some people are too much in their beliefs that they're going to stab any one who disagrees with them. Of course, there is one topic though that I agree a bit with him. But mind you, some people can be too hard headed with their principles and views. I was like that during 2010 elections here, am not doing that again. Let them be at their own discussions, some people are not just open-minded,that's all.

You are right, that the rules apply to all of, newbies as well as the oldies. The rules shouldn't be violated from either one, but it seems like they are violated everyday, because people think they don't have to read the rules, as they know what to do, and when they are told about them, some will get antagonistic, and others are very thankful that they were told. I will still continue to tell others, as long as they are appreciative of the help. The ones that don't want help, I just won't bother with, as it would do no good anyway. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Hello Rosekiss, the rules does apply and not learning a thing or two in some in the discussion guidelines, I think this user should accept the fact that if he or she had been reported and had discussion deleted, should have just quit it and leave. Gathering referrals in mylot had beeen the most rude thing to do. The others don't want help? If they violate the rules, they are just reported.

Hello Hardworkinggurl, It's hard that I get to see these things and just let them get away with it? Don't think so. I believe the admin can't do it alone and that's why we are inclined to report every thing when it comes to violation. I know there are times that I should be more tolerant probably hope just to save my own reputation and let every one else handles it. But when it's too obvious, I think it's bad for other newbies to fall into it.
