Are you working towards a certain goal here on mylot?

What is your goal? I do not have a specific goal perse. Any money that i earn here, will be transferred into my santa saver account. Ideally, i would like to make $30 or $40 dollars on this site alone over the next several months. I think that this is possible, provided that I do not have any big events in my life that keep me away from the computer. i want to be able to buy for everyone on my list next year, instead of cutting way back like we had to this year.

The best part of my travels abroad have been the people I have met. I also enjoy the cultural exchange that can be found here on mylot.

I'm trying to earn some extra money (not much, some little would be nice) as well as improving my English (I'm a native speaker of German), communicate issues with the community and waste my time on the Internet in a more productive way than before.

At least when I am wasting my time her on mylot, I am earning a little bit of money here and there. I could be playing games that earn me no money, or playing around on facebook.

I am looking for genuine online or offline data processing, data conversion, form filling data entry work for my company. I would be glad, if anyone could suggest it availing such non voice processes mentioned above. I am trying to play around most of the social networking sites but failed to get one legitimate site. Kindly suggest.

hi! i used to put specific little goals here as a newbie then like my first 100 posts, 10-star rating, my first $10 pay-out, reaching 500 posts, and next pay-outs and 1000 and 2000 posts respectively. it's nice to be able to have done those. little accomplishments can really make one feel good while mylotting. but having busy schedules i could not mylot as often as before, so i feel like i'm just cruisin out here and enjoying myself. after a few pay-outs i increased the level of pay-out just to try if i can reach it. i just look forward to my 3000th post and hopefully i passed the $100 mark i have set myself for next pay-out. i'm not very particular as to when i should reach it, just that i'd be able to in time. goodluck with your goals!

I never thought of setting number of posts goals. When it was available at work, I could devote my half hour lunch and get several posts in each day. now it is hit and miss. I have a bit more time right now, as there are no papers to grade at home, and my daughter is back to a good sleep schedule. I hope to be able to keep it up after the new year.

i used to be so excited on having 100 posts, coz that's when we get the mylot rating or star. and then i looked forward to my 300th post coz that's when i reached my first pay-out. also at 500, we have the cut-and-paste feature of the site. so i kinda looked forward to those little milestones in the site. it helped me keep the excitement and enjoy the mylot experience better. goodluck with having more free time. hehe

I really do not have any goal in so far as earnings here. I just post when I have the time to do it and enjoy the post of others. I learn a lot from here and as well as enjoy the earnings on the sideline. So when I am not really that busy with work, then I make a post and sometimes even start a post. At the end of the day, I could see my earnings update.. this is what surprises me. I do hope that you will be able to reach your goal.

There were days where I was obsessed by the amount earned being updated. how good did I do? I have since gotten over that mentality, and it has allowed me to enjoy the site as a way to interact with others. I needed a replacement from a webboard that i had frequented, but was becoming entirely too negative.

I am working as fast as I can, and as time permits. That seems to be the real problem. I have a full time job, I am a mom, and the housework never ends. I seem to be able to get a half hour or an hour every morning, and if i am lucky and the weather cooperates, my hubby takes my daughter outside for a half hour when we get home from work and I get that time to fart around on here.

Well my first goal is to reach a 100 post for time being. From the payings I know I have to work very hard to reach that goal but I know I can achieve it as earning here comes with lots of fun. May by the end of this week I would reach my mark. I am not worried about payment much as I dont spend much time here. But I wish to spend more time so I can increase my earnings.

That first 100 posts comes quickly from my experience. Just don't get caught up in the idea that you have to respond to everything. That gets boring and tedious. I found myself not enjoying the site as much. I have weaned down my interests to ones I have found I actually post in.

Like everyone else I love being here simply because I am paid for doing something that I like, writing and socializing. Isn't that great and I wish to increase the numbers beside my name. If possible I would want to double the figures before the end of next year.

I have not paid much attention to where my post count was, and was confused that when I answered to a comment that my count did not increase. This site does not work like any other I have used. 9000 posts in one year is like 26 a day. Doable if you have the time.

Hello friend, I joined mylot about two years ago and I have been on and off here ever since. I am not particular about reaching a particular amount here. As a matter of fact, I've reached payout only twice, I suppose. Even then, I'm quite happy reading everyone's views and responding to those that interest me.

I agree that other's view points are interesting. In fact I am surprised at the number of response I have received on this one topic. I don't know what caused this one to be so popular, when ones I thought would garner more of a response fizzled out.

I have no specific goals here, but my intention is to make more than $10, so that when I cashout, I'll have at least some balance, like another $9 to $10 so it'll be easier for me. My goal is to have at least $20.

I do that with other sites as well. That way you do not feel like you are starting over, you already have something to work with. I just recently changed my cash out from 25, which seemed impossible to the more manageable 10. With a week and a half off starting tomorrow, I should be able to find the time I need to be on here making a little extra money.

Actually I am a very simple perason and living a solitary life though I have a wife who loves me so much.I am not good at making friends in real life because I may be afraid of being hurt and hurting others. So I want to be here for other kind of world full of different opinions and helps and understandings and answers, etc. You can not imagine how worse the life is if it has no goal and just lasts day by day.I of course have a job , even not bad, but it gives me nothing but money that i need to support my family. To be honest I am cofused to my life. Why did I come to this world? Certainly that is not a kind of questions I can answer.I know well enough that a good life is made by your two hands, that I shoud keep calm whenever i am in trouble, and confront whatever happends to me.But all that I know can make sense only if you have a goal.

I have learned the value of setting manageable goals through trial and error. if you set the goal too high then it seems unachieveable, if you set it too low there is nothing to work toward. Ideally, if i had the time i would like to make the $10 cash out every month. I know that I do not have that amount of time, so I lowered the goal instead of feeling bad about it.

I had a goal some months ago and met it, but had nothing to do with money. I wanted to get past 500 posts so I could copy and paste. Sometimes in my replies I use Scripture and it's kind of rough typing out 2 or 3 verses in hurry. In so doing, one can make a mistake.

That makes sense to me. I always screw up sayings and quotes when I try to say/type them from memory, even just typing it out from another source would make me make mistakes.

Yes, my goal for now is to always reach payout every month..the 10 dollar one. For me that is quite hard since I've only reached payout twice for the almost one year that I've been with mylot. So to achieve that goal I'd work harder and do more tasks.. Good Luck to us all.

I have not had much luck with the tasks. I search using the tool bar, and only post in the topics i feel I have something to contribute to. Somedays, i really have to search to find those topics. I have been with mylot for about 2 months, and am just starting to get the hang of the site. I hope to reach my first payout sometime in the next week or two.

English is one of the hardest languages to learn. i know this from having taught it overseas in Japan. There are 13 verb tenses that have to be learned, and when and how to use them changes. The spelling is atrocious. The rules change so regularly, that having rules are almost pointless. Then add to the fact that they pull words from other languages and keep those spelling and pronounciation rules, it just gets crazy, and I am a native speaker.

I love earning the money as much as the social life I have here at MyLot. I have met some great friends, while earnings some money. I have also solved alot of my problems by just asking for feedback or opinions and suggestions so it is great for alot of reasons. I used to cash out at $10 a month and that would go to my grand daughters "secret Agent" day... I'd have the 4 year old, and hten pick up the 10 year old at school, take them to Burger King and do little secret agent things and then take the 4 year old to her mother. IT was fun for all three of us. However, life got in the way and I can't be on MyLot as much as I used to be or want to be, so the earnings have gone down, plus my husband got laid off and I couldn't afford SA-day and then the pick up schedule changed so SA day is in the past. But I still participate and enjoy My Lot and cash out when it reaches the limit and it all goes into a fund for something special...probably for the kids! But definately into some kind of savings for something special.

secret agent day sounds like fun. A fun goal to work for. For me, it goes towards making Christmas a little nicer, not just for me and my family but for others as well.

That's awesome, a very good idea, indeed. I always spend way too much around Christmas, on gifts, cards, decorations, and what-have-you, but I always do the same thing every year and can't seem to ever actually plan ahead with a 'Christmas savings' fund. lol. Maybe next year... I am working toward no particular goal at the moment, just coming on when I'm bored and without anything else to do. Maybe I'll try to come up with a goal for this upcoming year.

I started just coming on when I was bored. I would post a few comments, but could not really think of something that I felt was a good discussion topic. Now, I am finding that necessity is the mother of invention, and it is sparking my somewhat creative juices. I am making time for sites like this one instead of wasting my time on other sites.

I come on here to have fun, rather than going on facebook or other sites where there is usually people having a go at other people.I love to come on here just to have a bit of me time and to relax.I think that there are alot of people that do tend to set goals, but i am not setting any goals. It sounds like you have set yourself a great goal, hope you get all that you want to.

I suppose my first goal WAS to make a little extra money. But I can see that it will take longer than I had first thought. But I like just strolling through and finding something to talk about with others. It's nice to learn a little here and there, too. I'm finding out a lot about other cultures and just picking up on a little bit of knowledge here and there. It's a nice way to spend a little time. So my goal of making any money has kind of taken a back seat but I will keep plugging away at it and when ever I reach payout it will be a nice little surprise. I will probably just let the money sit in PayPal until I have a nice little bit to transfer to the bank. Then I'll buy something for myself, I don't know what but something.

I just transferred what I had in paypal, not as much as I would have liked, to the bank. Unfortunately, it was not for something for myself, but instead to pay of the balance on my credit card, where I have been putting medical bills. once all of these bills are paid off, I can't wait to be able to do something for myself.

I am learning a lot of things here in mylot. That is my first goal. The second is that I want to have friends in the internet. It is always amazing to think that you have a friend in another country without you even seeing each other. Because of the internet you have become friends along the way. My third goal is that everything that I earned here will be save up to December 2011. So whatever is in my earnings by that time will be cashed out. I still don't know If I will cash out Nov 30 or Dec 30 :)
@asyria51 (2861)

21 Dec 10
It depends on whether you are putting alot on credit cards. If you are, then getting the dec. 30 payment will help you pay off those cards in 2012. If you are just buying gifts using cash or checks, then the Nov. 30 would be more helpful, at least in my mind. I have a hard time just sitting on money as it gets larger and larger. I am always afraid that the company is going to go bust. I have had that happen before.
20 Dec 10
I'm in the same situation. Coming from a large family (7 siblings and a whole lot of nephews and nieces) there are a lot of people I would like to buy christmas presents for but just couldn't afford to this year. I might take your advise and just try to make a bit of extra cash online for next year and spoil them rotten (would need a bit more than £30-£40 though)

Next year, i will have my first niece or nephew. we may make it out to seattle to see him or her, along with its parents. We will see what the money situation is. I have yet to go and visit my sister in law and her husband in Seattle. Something has always come up, like not being able to travel due to the last month of my pregnancy.
