I am not a shop-a-holic! That simply means I do not squeeze in the crowd to purchase presents for my family and friends. I usually give practical gifts for Christmas such as soap, towels, fruit cakes, books, and cash! I tell the young people to buy whatever they like. And I think they like it better that way.
This year though, I did not even buy ham nor queso de bola! Nobody eats the stuff. Everyone prefers the salad. So I have plenty of potatoes, carrots, pineapple tidbits and fruit cocktails in my fridge. I also steamed rolls of chicken embotido for my neighbors. I do wish they would be friendlier!
Amidst the hullabaloo of the merriment, I do pray that everyone remembers that Christmas is for true loving. Our Lord Jesus came to dwell with us because He loves us through and through. To think that He would want to be with me!, I, such an opinionated and short tempered bulk of a human mass!, God must be crazy for loving me.
But I have always believed that God genuinely has picked me as His favorite! Why? Well I have already lost count of the blessings He had given me and still these continue to pour! I am grateful totally, absolutely, stupendously, sincerely!
I know that not everyone is okay. But still I do wish that everyone finds that warmth of God's love especially in the most difficult of times. Have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!

Belated merry christmas! I had a great christmas this year because i managed to see all my long lost friends, and we had a great time together. It's such a nice feeling to see them again, it's as if we are back to our school days, having fun, behaving like little girls. I didn't expect to see them again due to our work and commitments, so i was really happy. To me, that was my best christmas gift ever.

And a Merry Christmas to you and yours as well. I am a shopaholic and I do tend to spend more money for my Christmas shopping than is really necessary. However, this year was very different from any of the Christmas shopping that I've ever done in the past. Instead of using credit cards, I've provided a Christmas for my family of approximately the same magnitude without using any money that didn't belong to my husband and myself.

i would like to wish you a merry christmas and a happy new year too... i always try to remind myself that christmas is the time for me to reflect once again on the greatest love and grace that He had given to me by sending His beloved Son to come into this world to die for my sins... that's why every year during christmas it is a time for giving and share the Gospel to people who haven't heard about it before... take care and have a nice day...

I got the majority of all of my shopping done. I don't want to have to go anywhere on Christmas Eve because all of the malls are going to be filled with procrastinators.

I'm like you have been so blessed in my 54 years of living, but this year he has blessed me tenfold and I'm so sincerely grateful and happy for the place that he has put me at this time in my life. When you pray to God and especially for a special thing he has bigger and better plans for you then you can wish for yourself. I only wish that more people would realize what Christmas is truly all about instead of all the worries of what gift to buy for someone. You to have a Blessed Merry Christmas and a Happy Healthy New Year!

Hello there!Merry Christmas to you too and your family as well. Have a blessed and prosperous New Year to come! Me, I couldn't do my usual Christmas shopping. I am not a victim of Holiday Rush this days because I am required by my OBGyne to just have a bed rest because of the condition of my baby inside me. Im glad however that when I visited her, my baby's now coping and she already have a normal size of gestational sac, unlike before that she's having too small sac which make her a candidate for miscarriage. My bed rest will end this 23rd of December.
I'll just cook pasta and some desserts this Christmas eve together with ham and queso de bola of course. I really prepared a lot during New Year because its really festive when you spend bountiful food with your family during this season.
I will thank the Lord on the day of December 25 during the mass and will greet Him a very Happy Birthday, He's really kind to us and this means so much, really. Merry Christmas to all myLotters out there too!

I also only able to buy a normal gifts this year for my family members. Nothing for my friends because I did not have enough extra money. But as long as we can celebrate Christmas together with happiness then that is enough for me. Merry Christmas to you too and Happy New year. Have a nice day

Merry Christmas! I love Filipino traditions. Yes sometimes we tend to splurge more of the material things and forgot the main reason of our celebration. We should thank God for giving us this time to celebrate His love for us.

Hello Eileen, and Merry Christmas to you as well. I have looked up your foods and they sound interesting. I have not done a lot of shopping in the stores, I have shopped some online, and had purchased some things at sales this summer. I enjoyed looking up what your foods are.We are going to visit my brother. He pastors a church about four hours travel away from here. I asked today what foods I need to prepare, he said not to do anything special, we will just take it easy and enjoy the day and each other.

wow that was one way to greet someone a merry xmas! hhaha but like you i also do not buy ham even queso de bola, it just end up in the ref and not eaten, my family also do not appreciate that..i was even thinking of having a P1000 budget for xmas, so maybe ill buy whole chicken to roast and some pasta for salad and a cake. i guess that will do for xmas and it is the essence of xmas is what is more important.. btw, how do u make chicken embotido? i have not tried that, it was always pork embotido
anyways, as for gifts, my daughter was wishing to have a toy called "baby alive" its like this talking - eating doll that costs a lot!! its 4,000.00 pesos!! so just last night i already briefed her that "santa" wont be giving her that hahahah because santa is broke! haha kidding, but i told her that is too much and i even told her that is she wants that she will have to save for that and maybe santa will still give her something special and less expensive and amazingly she understood ( i hope thoroughly) as for my younger son, all he want is a toy truck and toy car..i do not have a problem with that because i can buy that with just 100 pesos hehehe... the hullabaloo of xmas is also getting into me..its like draining me of energy!
for this year, i did not prepare much nor decorate much, i just have to stick with the budget...so i will have more for next year..and yes I have made mistakes and i know amidst all that God still loves me too..no matter how sinful i have gotten hahahaha and i thank HIM everyday for that..
oh well Merry Christmas eileen :D
