I like printed books more. You can keep them as collections and they look really good when piled on shelves. And for people who have poor eyesight, ebooks would only worsen the case. ^^

I agree with you since computer can damage our eyes much. How much more if you are near sighted person, your eyes are too close to the computer screen. So in terms of health, Books are advisable.

Actually, it’s not true that computers can damage your sight. No more than reading print can do. If it wasn't for my computer and ebooks, I wouldn't have been able to read at all when I had cataracts. I could increase the font size so that I could read easily, but I had to give up reading print almost completely.
nagatron, it's clear that you don't know anything about being near-sighted. Anybody so near-sighted that they had to sit close to the screen wouldn't be able to get around or do the things they need to do every day. Near-sighted people wear glasses.
Now that I've cataract surgery, I still enjoy reading ebooks, but I'm also glad to be able to read print again. And another reason I like ebooks is because I don't have much space, and I have to keep getting rid of print books when I add new ones. Ebooks don't take up any space.

Maybe it will change in the world that no one read book anymore, but in my way of speaking, books can not be replaced. Maybe I am used to read holding a 'real'book, my experience tell me that it is the best way yo make you more incentive to read a good book. It is like being with a long lost friend.

For me nothing beats books, although I used ebooks sometime but you have to consider small things like electricity and accessibility. You can access book easily if you are in a hurry, you can open it without turning on something. Books are more accessible than ebooks.

I don't think either one is better. I read both. I download a lot of ebooks, both free and paid for. I usually read them on the computer, but I can also read them on my iPod Touch if I don't feel like staying at the computer. I can't agree with megamatt. Most of the ebooks I read are fiction. I do a lot of research online, but most of that isn't in the form of ebooks, because most of the easily available ebooks are fiction. If I need to do serious research on a subject, it's mostly in print books. I have a large print library of fiction and non-fiction, and a a folder packed full of ebooks on my computer.

printed books are better according to me
for reading an e book pc should be there for reading hard copy no need of pc we can study conveniently where ever you want
e book is cheap as you can search from internet and study
we can make multiple copies from e book
coping a hard copy is expensive
some ways e book is better and in some ways print is ed book better
using e-books saves trees as it did not require any paper

reading paperbacks is better than ebooks. when you have ebooks you ought to have the right reader installed in your pc, or in your phone.... though it is convenient... and is always ready for you to read when you have it on your phone... you can still be bothered by usage of battery which i always encounter. haha :D

For reading books, i still prefer the printed one though im spending 8hrs a day in front of a computer. Yes others are right, it depends on the type of books you will be reading. For me, Technical books are best studied and read on ebook than printed books.

i prefer printed books coz i can keep them in my shelves for many more years. people who also like to browse through my titles and read them can have ready access. i also like the "feel" of printed books in my hands. i also don't need to worry about plugging my book to power on and to keep it working while trying to enjoy what i'm reading.ebooks, on the other hand, can be convenient when going on long trips and you wish to have as many titles ready for choosing while on a bus, a car,a plane, or train.

I don't really think that one is better than the other. I think that it's a matter of preference. Personally, I prefer printed books. I find that they are easier to read, and my eyes get tired more quickly when I read online. I have a more difficult time reading things online, such as ebooks, for long periods of time.

It really does depend on the situation that they are being used for you. I think that for actual casual reading, then printed books are better. There is nothing better than an actual book in my hand when I kick back and read with a book and just relax. Ebooks are more for research purposes and learning as far as I am concerned. They are useful for looking up bits of information easily. So both books do have their uses for sure.
