Increase Number Of Post Or Increase Your Earnings?

You can find many myLot members reached to 1000 post but still not yet paid and you can find also some members with a total post of more than 200 but received payout already. Why this figure matters? Maybe some newbies very happy when they saw their total number of post increasing and want to compared their number of post to other members who spent more than a year or years already and they reached the same figure even they are only 2 or 3 months. They don't know that the basis of calculating the earnings is not the total number of post. Some post more than 100 post a day but they only got more or less 10 cents a day.
Why not concentrating on the the quality of your post instead of the higher figure which you can see beside your username. I am here for more than 3 years already but my total post is the same to those members who are here for a months or year. I consider mostly my post that have content and I have something to say or great ideas that I can share to the owner of the post. I am considering my total number of post. Although it's nice to see your total number of post but be sure that you have both, higher figure of post with quality of post of course.
I encounter one member that he has almost 1000 post lately but still he doesn't know some of myLot features. I think if you are curious of myLot, 100 post is enough to know more about the site but I won't blame him/her, maybe he/she is concentrating only on posting and don't care about what other features of the site. I found out also that most of his/her post composed only of 1-2 sentences.
Members like this might waste his/her time and effort in posting because I am sure he will not earn and I think there's alot of ideas he/she going to brought about that is not clear and might not help to the owner of the discussion.
How about you guys? Which you prefer, to increase your number of post and don't care the quality or you are concerned with the quality and don't mind the total number of post? Please share your ideas.

Neither. I enjoy discussing. I comment a lot, even on topics that are not my own and on responses on discussions where I have not even left my own response.
I just have fun and am not concerned with the number of words, lines posts or whatever else.
Just the same way that when I get up in the morning and start talking to people offline I don't count how many words I say to them. I stay with the flow of the conversatio nand when it is over that's it. Until then I keep talking, just like here I keep typing while I have something to say.
I am not bothered about my numbher either. Sometimes i post all day but it doesn't move at all because I am commenting all the time on my own discussions.

I agree with what you said, I enjoy the fun of discussing here too. I am quite a talkative person, and I always like to express my opinions or thoughts, so mylot is really a good place for us to share and learn. When you are interested in the topic, and you will have lots to say, we don't even need to think about many words there will be.
By the way, I like to see my number of posts and earnings increase too, it's just a motivation, though I am not working hard for that. It's just like playing games, I am reaching another level. It's also parts of the fun participating in mylot.

Yes you are right as long as you have something to say and you are interested in the topics number of post and earnings might be not matters. I always follow your post and I saw it that it that sometimes it only one or two lines and some only smileys. You are one of the veterans of myLot and I know you know everything the flows of the site. It seems that you really enjoy participating here and no other site that you spent most of your time to log-in everyday. You are one of my oldest friend here and I am very thankful also to be one who always support my discussions that bring attention to your interest.
@kaka135
as long as you are happy on what you did, number of post and amount of earnings doesn't matter. I agree to both of you but sometimes I also think my earnings so I am also conscious with my post. You cannot usually read my post below 2 lines.

I lost the privilege of copy pasting and I can try to cheat and have that privilege by trying to post a lot of short comments so I will have 500 post but i didn't. I will only make discussions if something I want to discuss gets into my brain and I will only participate to a discussion because its something that interest me, I know many people here participates in discussions they dont find interesting with that they ended up ruining the quality of their post.

My most favorite work here is to read what others say. And that's also the most irritating thing once I get offline and find I didn't contribute anything!
Every time I log in, I set my goal to increase my numbers and post whatever comes in between: comments, responses etc. Of course these are quite well thought and related to context posts In the end I find I missed my goal and get angry but hey who cares?
No, I am not so much interested with earning part for now. I have problems with PayPal and I don't want to get paid until this issue resolves!
Do you want me say something about newbies too? no comments...

even $10 is enough to keep me waiting for months, even years. But thanks for the advice :)

Don't say you are not concerned with your earnings because it will help you alot. The best thing you can do is to set your payout to maximum like me, I want to reach $100 here because I tried already above $50. While you are waiting your paypal to be resolve your earnings also increase day by day due to your excessive post.

Reaching the minimum amount is very hard if you just rely on your post and discussions. Referrals are also very important here in earning money since referrals can help you increase your earnings by having percentage on what your referral members earned. So for me, the reason why other members here already received payments even though they only have 200 - 800 participation is because of referrals. How much more if you refer even 50 active MyLot user.

It is absolutely possible to reach payout every month with no referrals at all if your particpation in the discussions is consistent and of quality, especially if you spend your time discussing rather than just 'posting'.

I do not care about the number of discussion. I am responding to and create discussion, regardless of the number of discussion. Sometimes numbers do not increase the amount of my discussion, because I was responding to my own discussion, or respond to repeated discussion.

Better not count your number of post. Let your mind focus on the thoughts and ideas you can share to fellow lotters. Sometimes I found my number of post after the day and I am amazed about it. I always said, wow I posted with a total of blah blah blah. Most of the time I am focus to the content of the post and the ideas I will going to response. Before I post response I will always think that the thoughts of my post will help the poster.

In all honesty I do not ever look at my number of posts I have to date.. Unless a member points out to me that I am increasing.
I simply log on with the intent to contribute, learn and have fun. But I do see what you mean as I see so many discussions where members are greatly concerned about their points.

My boyfriend thinks I am nuts just about now as I just caught up with your response and I am so hard as YES!!! You gave me my first Christmas present.
I normally do not look at my points, ratings, star or even earnings. So I sort of sneaked in Christmas morning to see that you had sent me a message and it was like a wonderful Christmas present. So I suppose I best go over and see my earnings for the last week. as I never look at that either. LOL
I am so grateful to have you on here.

I am not here for earnings or to accumulate posts. I am her to contribute something positive to mankind and the individuals here. If I can do something positive than I'm happy. But once in a while I like to goof off and just have a bit of mun. I try to be a good neighbor. Have a great day!

Hi julyteen: I totally agree with you statement on this post. If people want to earn some money here on Mylot they should take care on what they are writing. It must be a good material and not just make non-sense topics. I only answer the discussions that I like or when I feel that I am able to write a good opinion on the subject and actually this helps me to enjoy my time spent on mylot.

I do agree with you hundred percent. There are just so many responses here that are just a couple of sentences. I could rattle off about a hundred responses like that in about a half of an hour, but really would they add anything? I tend to think long and hard and try and add some meaning to my posts. Sometimes its a paragraph, sometimes two, sometimes three, depending on what I feel like I need to say. Its all about quality in the end. It also makes discussions interesting and gives people something to sink their teeth into, don't you agree?

I would prefer the quality of post that is more interesting because it can create more thread, replies etc..I love to see my post like this! But there's only few replies on but its' okey I fine with that!

Well, just like in real life, I have a hard time stopping after a few words! I don't really try to make my posts long and detailed; that's just the way I am. I am often afraid someone on mylot will misunderstand me or think I am being sarcastic, so I add lots of information so no one will mistake my replies for something else.
Also, my favourite topics to discuss are philosophy and religion, and those topics are tricky, so you need longer posts to explain your point!
Anyway, this means that I am making money for having fun and making discussions, and I don't have to worry about the number of discussions, or how long my posts are!

Wow, maybe you are smart enough that you post more words and not even running out of ideas. I admit that when I read a well said post most of the time a LONG story post I fully understand what the thoughts of it. Sometimes readers might misunderstand the ideas if it is short, instead of clarifying the issues it will make complicated. Better your habit is to explain more what the post is all about.

When I started I posted just small, 1 and 2 line responses. I did not understand how to earn on here. Even after reading the tutorial, I did not really understand how to make the most of this site. I have since decided that I would only respond to topics I really felt I had an interest in. This has slowly increased my earnings. I find that I am much more active in the posts that I start, and not just one or two line responses.
So to summarize, quality over quantity.

superlike your post.really well said.
a quality post in mylot matters.some of my friends post one or two lines in each post.and they wonder why their money is so much less.but here not the post matters.here only whatever you have written matters.i was also in a same thought wen i joined.but i have heard from one my frieds that here post number does not matters from then i change my way of posting...
but i can you what is the signification of the star shown above the name of the responder??
@mysdianait (66009)

The star is explained here:
http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq11.aspx#3
Basically it is the result of the ratings (+/-/!) that other users have given to your posts. The more plusses then the higher your star. 1 is the lowest and 10 is the highest. It affects your earnings too as you can see if you read that link.

one or two lines is enough if the post is full of thoughts. Flowering words might affect also to your post and reputation. If the post need only one or two lines so don't make it 4 or 5 to make your post long to read but the ideas is very short.
@mysdianait
well said and I admire you for giving the links that will help members to understand their doubts.

Well, I have certain expectation in mylot. Not to earn a big fortune here of course. But I do have some targets on myself. I have recently asked for how to start a good discussions. The first thing is to read the guidelines, not to mention. and the second thing is to find out what the readers you'll have on mylot. You also need to meet friends here. The most effective to recieve your payment is to get your referrals. But that is the catch. I think unless you are doing well by yourself, you can not introduce any others to some place you are even unfamiliar, right. I think a quality discussion and disccussion skills are neccessary for a good mylottor.

Hi there julyteen!!As much as possible I really like to increase my participation here in mylot.But becoz of your post I now realized that it doesn't matter if I post many discussions.What matters is the quality of the discussion.I am really not that active here in mylot becoz of the limited time that I can spend here.But everytime I logged in here I make it a point to post quality discussions that will help others.I just hope that I can continue this type of job coz I really enjoy staying here...

superb, Fabulously said by you i also wonder why i am not able to earn by posting to discussions now i am able to know that content of the post matters. so now i would like to earn more by posting less but of quality so that my burden is reduced and my time is saved and i would like to guide all the users to follow this method and earn and be happy so at the end i completely agree with you that a user must post a quality response.

I used to write 1 or 2 sentence replies. It had substance. But I saw that with much conversation I was earning less. I have learnt now that quality also matters here. A response or comment that initiates further discussion is treated as a good response here. Earnings will increase accordingly.

hi there. i'm new in mylot. really like your post.
i usually try to respond to post that i really interested. sometimes many sometimes i don't respond at all. it depends on my interest. while making respond, i tried to respond it seriously. i do some short respond, but it doesn't mean I don't care about the quality of my respond.
thanks anyway.
