why is it when you talk to a person that is middleclass and lower that they say success is in the eyes of the person not in what you have. but he rich man says success is in what you own and have. i have a theory but i want to know what your theory is? What do you think about success? is it possible to be poor and be seccessful? how do you get successful?

Recently I became successfully poor but by the same token I've become a successful positive thinker. By this I mean I have been fully enriched with wonderful people in my live who simply do not care what I have and do not have.
The rest who believe that I am a failure are simply people who do not belong in my life as I am worth more than any form of money can portray.

Hiya bigc,
Success can be what you make of your life if you want it to happen. I don´t know really success can be what you have already and if you are happy enough with what you have got.
If you have´nt got what you want then just try a little harder and keep going at it. Surely it will come your way.
I also think that there are variations on success no one theory is really better than the other. They can all be valid too.
Success can be a Mother who has given up her working life to give all and everything to her Children that is if she is happy with that. Likewise with a Dad who works in the same place all his Years and gives all he has to his Wife and Kids that is success if he is happy with that.

Success means different things to different individuals...to me success is setting a goal and reaching it. I can be successful in several areas of my life! Yes, of course it is very possible to be poor and successful...I made three pies tonight...I was successful in making three delicious pies!! Success to me is finding meaning and appreciation in the smaller things in our lives, and sometimes those things are something that is not "owned."

I think it is better if we will attach a prefix word with the word "success". Like "financial success" or "political success".. or "spiritual success", to make it clear.
For me, success is when you have achieved what you have aimed for. Anything. It can be, higher ranks or promotion in your job, or certain amount of money in your bank account, or raising up good kids. Success is when you reach the goal that you have set. That's the simple definition of success. It can be applied to anything, not only money or career. Anything.
