dear mylotters, i am back in my bedroom with nothing to do now and i kept thinking on how other people celebrate the occasion. as for me, and my family, at the onset of midnight - Christmas eve, we all gather around the Christmas tree and open our gifts. it has been like this since i was little. how do you celebrate Christmas eve?? ann

Hi Ann. We do not celebrate anything here on Christmas night. Here it is a low key night generally while everyone waits eagerly for Christmas day to roll around.

Every year of my life (since I was a baby but excluding one year when I worked at the hospital), our family has always traveled to Cincinnati for Christmas Eve and we've always celebrated with my extended family. When my grandmother was alive it was a very busy day because we had to open presents with my mother's side of the family and with my father's side of the family on the same evening. However, now we only get together with my father's side of the family. I always look forward to Christmas Eve, almost more than I look forward to any other part of the year.

it took me 2 years before seeing this reply from you. sorry for the late response. it is a universal celebration and i am happy that you join the Christians in celebrating merriment and changing gifts. it is the most fun celebration for us. i like seeing faces of people because you seldom see people who do not smile. and that for me is so wonderful. everyone seems to feel the excitement and the ambiance anywhere seems that of happiness. have a nice day. ann

Christmas is a season to give love to people. There is no need to ask in return, the matter thing is to give happiness to the one we loved. It could be our dear parents, siblings, relatives and friends.
