All of us are here either to respond to a discussion or to start a new discussion. It is really a thrill to start a discussion or post a respons and the thrill lies in allowing us full freedom by mylot which is really great. Many sites impose restrictions which curb our freedom.when any new idea comes in the mind I start a discussion and what ever occurs in the mind I post as response to discussions and in this process there is immense satisfaction. As for me I like starting discussions because the responses are from various people around the globe and in variety of ways.I visualise as if they are personally expressing their views before me and I feel it as a thrill.Which do you like..starting discussion or posting response..?

I aree with you. When you read a discusssion you immedately get a reply in your mind you can post it.There is not much of thinking process.you may agree or disagree with a discussion and you post your response accordingly. But starting discussions is not like that. you should get some new idea and relevant material to start a discussion. It is rather not that easy..

You appear to be new to mylot. No doubt posting a reply is easy.As there is full freedom here you can agree or disagree with a discusiion and accordingly post your reply. You say you are not finding interesting discussions here.I prefer to differ. There are variety of discussions covering all aspects of life and you can choose any one you like and either post a reply or start adiscussion..All the best

It is good that you love starting discussions and also posting responses. Some mylotters show more interest in posting responses only. You post discussion and you will get response. Some mylotters feel that their discussions are not good because they do not receive many responses. It is not like that. For various reasons there may not be many responses. That should not discourage you..

I like both but it's kinda easier for me to answer to people's discussions than to start my own since I keep thinking before I ask if I really need to ask or solve it myself

I too like both and both are very interesting and enlightening. That is why I am here.In mylot you play double role..you are a speaking and you are also a listening.Comparatively posting response is easier as we get some reply in the mind.Starting discussion requires new ideas and material. Here you are paid for starting a discussion and also for posting response which is great and you have full freedom of expression....

Now, I'd like to respond to some interesting discussions. Because I think I am a new comer.and by posting responses , I can get to know what others are are interested in, and what most of people like to discuss. We have one thing in common, I only start a new discussion when some ideas hit me and I want to know different ideas of various people around the world.

Being fairly new to MyLot I haven't started very many discussions yet. And the ones I have started haven't had much sucess. So I would have to say, at this point, I prefer to respond to discussions that others have started.
I look for discussions that I have an interest in or that I feel I can contribute something to. I wouldn't want to respond to a discussion that I didn't really have any knowledge about the subject just to get my post count up higher.
I really enjoy being able to post my point of view or share my bit of personal knowledge about a subject. I really like the discussions that make me think before I type, to reach into myself and find a connection with the discussion.
It's enjoyable to communicate with such a wide variety of people and different views. Also, its nice to get a real conversation going with someone and it feels like you are talking with only that person, forgeting the thousands of others that may be "listening in".
If I were to start a discussion I would like to choose a subject that would make people want to share their thoughts and not just snap out a quick answer and move on. I will be working on that, to improve my choice of topics.

As you stay longer here and post responses you will naturally get new ideas. There is nothing to worry. It is not that all the discussions you start fetch number of responses. How does it matter? From my experience here I have noticed some of my discussions fetched one or two replies. There is no set rule here either for starting adiscussion or posting a response and in that respect we are lucky. All the best..

at the moment, i prefer to respond to a discussion compare to starting a discussion... it is because i learn more new knowledge from other people by responding to discussions and i didn't get many responses whenever i started a discussion... that's why now i prefer to just respond and respond... :-) take care and have a nice day...

I have posted only few discussions but tried to respond to the discussions started by my friends and my lotters. I like each and every topic but I am bit choosy about the discussions which I choose to respond. So its a nice time on mylot and we come across so many interesting things to be responded and to be aware of.

I like responding to a discussion since it does not require me to think of a question to ask the other forum members. And since I got a lot of ideas in my mind or things to learn from so I'd rather be the one who responds than one who initiates. Although from time to time I do this too.

Well, for me, it's hard to start a discussion so it's better to respond to some. Anyway, my reason for responding to discussions is partially to share ideas and partially to earn too. However, the earnings for joining discussions is so meager. That's ok. Maybe someday I can find the way to earn more by the information that other mylot members provide here.
